Successfully use the BHUVAN -Indian Space Research Organization Data to prepare the study area maps, Watershed delineation, New development Preparation, Soil Curve Number and Land Use Land Cover Assessment, River Geometry Modelling, Various Input files preparation for other software's such as Watergems, HECRAS, HECHM, ICM etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about QGIS?

This program is free to start, has many of the same features at other enterprise systems, and interfaces easily with plugins. This combination makes this a great piece of software that will continue to grow as you grow your business and knowledge of GIS and spatial analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QGIS?

As a free software, there are some buggy plugins and broken links. There is some community support, but I have never had great luck getting individual problems solved quickly. Additionally, the interface is not the most intuitive, but you learn quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering QGIS:

If you have any need to use GIS software, QGIS is a great one to learn. You can take this program with you where ever you go, no need to worry about losing your license after graduating or switching jobs. If you have a highly specific need, there is likely a plugin built with tools for you. If there isn't, you can develop your own tools in python and add them in. As a free program, this is very nimble and I dare say has more opportunity for adaptability as you progress in your career and knowledge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is QGIS solving and how is that benefiting you?

My number one focus area is spatial analysis. QGIS contains multiple geospatial analysis tools that are free to use and quite powerful. The additional ability to add user plugins means I don't need to be able to code my own new statistical algorithms, but I can if I want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
