"A free option for GIS enthusiasts"
3.5/5
What do you like best about QGIS?

Qgis is the main option we have as GIS software users for the development of our daily work activities. Qgis offers a wide range of tools and options for the generation of thematic cartography, spatial analysis, and image analysis from remote sensors. Qgis, being a GNU program, allows generating links with many software, so that information can be generated in a different software and then linked and visualized with Qgis. The tools are quite intuitive, and in addition to that, the software allows the use of multiple formats such as shapefile, prj, mapinfo layers, binary coverage, raster, tab-delimited text, and many more, which considerably broadens the spectrum of information that can be handled with this tool. What do you dislike about QGIS?

The software has a major disadvantage, which is that in many cases it can be very unstable, meaning it can close suddenly, generate errors in the processes, or simply not address problems adequately. In addition to that, the initial opening of the program can be somewhat overwhelming, as all the tools appear displayed, and that can be a bit unsettling, given that a user does not necessarily need all the tools the program presents. Some tools like the Open Layer are excessively heavy and require a high-speed internet connection to be used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

" My experience in QGIS, an excellent route"

What do you like best about QGIS?

The Open Source Geographical Information System that has evolved the most, has more compatibility, adaptability and better output design.

GRASS, SAGA, OPENLAYER and OPENSTREETMAP are compatible with QGIS

QGIS presents a set of very complete vector and raster analysis tools and gives identical results to the analysis packages of the private software, with the difference that QGIS allows to see and manipulate the mathematical models that support these formulas.

You can do TIM, program in Phyton, create a web map, link GRASS or SAGA processes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QGIS?

In some opportunities, the software can hang by managing localized databases with many records Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A good option for GIS users"
3.5/5
What do you like best about QGIS?

QGIS has the ability to use practically any data format that can handle spatial data, the program allows the use of shapefiles, tab files, CAD files, raster files, and many other file extensions that enable compatibility with any software available in the market, and allows the user to perform tasks in QGIS and manipulate or modify them in other programs. QGIS has a great capacity for adaptation, given that it is licensed under GNU, it is possible to manipulate the program's functionality and adapt it to the needs of each company or user, so that each person using QGIS can manipulate the interface and activate the tools that are truly useful and discard those that are not necessary. Additionally, the user can add their own tools that can be very useful for their daily tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QGIS?

Being free software has many advantages, but also a large number of disadvantages, the main one being the instability of the program; on many occasions, it can close or stop working suddenly, which can be quite annoying and can also slow down work significantly. Additionally, there is no direct technical support, but rather collaborators who ensure the program works and remains operational. However, many questions the user must resolve on their own, which can be quite complicated in some cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Free Software"
5/5
What do you like best about QGIS?

I love that it’s free and easy to use if you already know arcGIS. Mapping software can cost a lot of money so it’s awesome that this is 100% free. It can be difficult to navigate if you aren’t familiar with arcgis. I also enjoy that you are able to geocode using google maps right through a plugin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QGIS?

While it’s easy to figure out it does differ significantly from arcMap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about QGIS?

Free, easy to use if you've already used ArcGIS before Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QGIS?

Not always stable, sometimes shuts down suddenly for no apparent reason. It's a lot quicker to create maps in Tableau if you have it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
