The best thing about QGIS is its ease with which it can be integrated with other plugins to carry out advanced geospatial analysis. The constant need to update features can be annoying sometimes; however, it's expected of open-sourced software. Also, sometimes bugs in the software cause unwanted crashing. I used QGIS during my early days as a Geospatial researcher, and all the basics of remote sensing image analysis I learned from it. The first thing I learned was georeferencing coupled with basic image classification using plugins. I generated my first landuse classification map using QGIS. The best part about QGIS is we can use the python code of tools to modify them according to our requirements for various analysis also we can use the open sourced codes and tools for our work even with minimal knowledge of coding.
