**What do you like best about python xlrd?**

Can be used to do manipulation xls files only, will not work on xlsx. I will recommend using openpyxl for xlsx files. 

**What do you dislike about python xlrd?**

Only support xls files, this is a huge limitation if you are working with XLSX extension. I will consider finding alternative solution if you have mix bag of spreadsheet extensions. 

**What problems is python xlrd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Edit/Read/Write data to XLS files
