**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

This tool has helped me save time while improving precision and accuracy. I also appreciate the integrations with AutoCAD and PV Syst, which make my workflow smoother. Overall, the automation and speed are strong, and the 3D analysis and shading features are especially useful.

**What problems is PVcase Ground Mount solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PVcase for designing large-scale PV systems.

Integration with AutoCAD: Working directly in a CAD environment makes the whole process much easier. PVcase isn’t a separate, complex software program; it’s an add-on that integrates smoothly with standard AutoCAD, which helps reduce implementation time.

Integration with PV SYST: Exporting a project to the external PV SYST program allows for a quick and accurate determination of the PV system’s energy production.

Automation and speed: Creating a panel layout on difficult terrain—while accounting for shading and required distances—now takes only a fraction of the time I used to spend doing it manually. After entering the data, the program automatically places inverters, stations, and cable lines, which is a strong contribution to developing the installation’s detailed design. Even frequent design-parameter changes introduced by investors don’t cause project downtime: once the data is updated, the program immediately generates a new layout without needing to rebuild everything from scratch, as was often the case with “manual” design without PVcase.

3D analysis and shading: PVcase stands out in terrain modeling, enabling highly precise shading analysis and better optimization of energy yield.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

The interface as an AutoCAD plugin makes navigating the many different tools included with PVCase ground mount seem familiar and easy to learn. Using the software to layout PV trackers is fast, and the iteration tool allows you to contemplate many designs at a time. 

The ability to export the shade scene from PVCase ground mount to a .pvc for PVsyst is crucial for our team and saves us several hours anytime an energy model is created.

There are numerous articles on the support page that explain the functionality of the various tools very well, with the use of GIF's and images that I find extremely helpful. If there is anything I need support with that isn't covered in one of these, the team is fast to respond, usually within the day.

The electrical design tools are quite a bit more manual intensive than the general layout tools. Getting early takeoff quantities quickly can be a challenge.

The tool is easy to use, reducing the time needed to create detailed designs. The software is fantastic from the Development project to construction project The frame creation is accurate and the park setting offers many variables to optimize the PV layout. The shading study is rapid. The electrical part is very intuitive and fluent.  PVCase offers slope, pilling, collision, and grading analysis to enhance calculation precision significantly. Weekly updates and excellent customer service and technical support. The integration with PVsyst is fundamental. Integration into Autocad, which allows you to have all Autocad commands and functions always available

PVcase Ground Mount has become an essential part of Encore’s engineering workflow. The platform allows us to incorporate site constraints early, iterate efficiently, and optimize system layouts for maximum production.

It has played a key role in helping us scale our in-house engineering capabilities and advance a growing project pipeline. Ground Mount enables our team to move quickly from early-stage diligence through detailed design with confidence.

Overall, it’s a reliable and effective tool that keeps pace with the demands of our development process.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

I have found that PVcase ground mount works really well and quickly with projects up to ~10 MWac but that it is a much slower iteration process for projects greater than ~50MW ac. It is still a fantastic design tool - I just find that it takes substantially longer for a PV area to populate and sometimes AutoCAD crashes.

PVcase is particularly helpful in establishing variable row spacing that maximizes production and capacity.

It’s very useful for BD projects in Japan, especially on sites with lots of slopes, where we don’t have CAD topography data and can instead download that kind of data online.

The output is great, but I can’t get as many licenses as I’d like for my whole team because the cost is a bit high.

I really appreciate the automation of the process that PVcase Ground Mount offers, as it allows for quick processing of layouts once the design choices are set and enables you to immediately see how any design changes are reflected in the new layout. This aspect represents a huge time saver, since in a world where time is always the designer's enemy, being able to optimize it is certainly the great strength of PVcase. Moreover, the ability to customize the layout directly in the CAD environment simplifies the process and eliminates the need for additional steps between different software, thus facilitating the entire operation. I also find that the initial installation was quite simple, which contributes to an overall positive and efficient user experience.

Some tracker setups are not very flexible and adaptable to our needs.

Nothing I particularly dislike, but whoever wants to use this solution needs to know that you require a compatible version of AutoCAD or Civil3D. There is a cost, licensing complexity linked to this. You also require significant computer power, so you need high quality equipement to work with ease.

PVcase Ground Mount is an extremely intuitive and easy-to-use tool, which significantly reduces the time needed to create detailed projects. The precision in creating structures and the numerous variables available to optimize the photovoltaic layout make this software excellent, both for development projects and for construction projects. The weekly updates and customer service, as well as technical support, are exceptional. The ability to communicate with PVsyst is particularly useful for obtaining the most accurate possible yield simulations.

Nothing in particular. Only note, sometimes opening the PVCase plug-in takes quite a bit of time compared to other software (waiting time on the order of a minute).

PVcase Ground Mount saves hundreds of design hours and is very intuitive, with a short learning curve. What I like the most is the ability to design at the string level and to export the precise Bill of Materials. The support and customer service is very fast and good, and the updates are constant.

I would like you to have an optimization of various designs based on the LCOE, as well as a comprehensive implementation with low voltage calculations.

I have been using Ground Mount for over 4–5 years now, and it has significantly improved the design process for utility-scale PV projects. CAD integration makes drafting and modeling simple and efficient as tasks that once took much longer are now handled with ease. Without this tool, achieving this level of speed and accuracy would be much more challenging. Ground Mount has become an essential part of my daily workflow, saving time while boosting confidence in every design.

My only gripe — lots of tiny updates (though that’s a minor issue compared to the benefits)

It is easy and simple to use, the inputs to be entered are simple and intuitive. It saves a lot of time, especially for large projects, useful for the generation of areas.

Every now and then it glitches, for example, sometimes it aligns the trackers not according to the alignment line. And it has happened that duplicate trackers are generated (one on top of the other) for no reason.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

I have been working with PVcase GM almost every day for the past 3 years and my experience has been the most positive. From a software very well thought covering most of the repetitive and time-consuming tasks of designing a solar park, to a team that is always listening to the users to keep their product as the leader in the market. I cannot be more grateful for a tool like this, as it allows me to concentrate my work in the details and corroborate my calculations. The ability to just merge it into AutoCAD and work directly there with files you have already make using it a breeze, you just select your area, choose your predefined settings and that's that!

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

Up until now, most of the issues that I have faced with the software have been solved in a brief period, and most of the improvement I have recommended or even thought of have been applied, which speaks volumes of the constant development of the software.
