**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

We chose this software after a careful evaluation among those available on the market and we have continued to use it for two years. It is very simple to use and allows quick positioning of the module support structures on the ground. Very useful when choosing land for construction authorization because it allows a quick assessment of the installable power and allows you to create a complete and precise layout. Equally useful in the executive design phase as its flexibility of use allows rapid revisions of the layout aimed at optimizing the positioning of the system on the construction site. 
The system data extrapolation functionality is highly appreciated which facilitates and speeds up the processing of construction offers for EPC.
Also very useful is the possibility of exporting the positioning to PVSyst which allows a rapid evaluation of the energy that can be produced by the system.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

The possibility of non-simultaneous use of the same license on multiple PC stations belonging to the same design team. It would be necessary to allow non-simultaneous use on multiple PC stations.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

The software allows for easy and quick creation of PV fields. It is an extension of AUTOCAD/CIVIL 3D, very simple to start and implement once the various commands and capabilities are identified. Among its various functions, it allows for the intuitive definition of the tracker geometry and automatically fills closed polygons with them, avoiding manual insertion. It also allows for a "civil analysis," identifying potential collisions of the tracker with the terrain (the software allows for the insertion of the field's topography) and creating a colored map highlighting the excavation/fill areas useful for the correct positioning of the trackers. I use it daily at work to create both small fields and large plants, integrating it with the use of CIVIL 3D. I recommend its use to those working in this sector, also thanks to the super-efficient customer service.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

It would be useful to be able to create a DTM post-earth movement with the software. Currently, it allows you to create a graded text grid without markers and elevation or a cloud of graded points. However, bringing these graded points into CIVIL 3D does not result in a realistic DTM.

**What problems is PVcase Ground Mount solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows you to quickly fill the field areas designated for the placement of trackers, to define the position of the structure poles. Additionally, it creates a colored map of the excavations/fillings.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

Excellent program, intuitive and easy to use, it relies excellently on the CAD software.
I use the program for designing ground-mounted PV systems, the function for calculating slopes is really useful and appreciable, which analyzes the optimal inclination angles on irregular terrain. Again on irregular terrain it allows you to arrange the PV modules avoiding shadow areas. .
It also allows you to extrapolate files in DAE and PVC format so that they can be used to study manufacturability on other programs such as PVSyst.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

The electrical sizing function could be better, especially on the arrangement of the conductors, but since it is not a purely electrical program I would say that it is more than sufficient when the program manages to produce

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

The developers of PVcase have been able to understand the real needs of those who design Ground Mount systems and have developed suitable tools.
These are some of the aspects that I appreciated the most
- The possibility of drawing up both a preliminary project with very few steps using online maps, and detailed executive projects using survey data.
- The terrain import functionality, which adapts to different formats, and allows you to manage the project in 3D.
- Great versatility, which allows you to configure any type of fixed structure or trackers, by entering clear and understandable parameters, thanks also to the various images present in the configuration windows which clearly show the meaning of the parameters
- The powerful functions of analysis and remodeling of the terrain, and electrical design, which allows you to obtain the stringing and cabling layout almost automatically
- Integration into Autocad, which allows you to have all Autocad commands and functions always available
- The possibility of exporting much information to .csv files, e.g. the list of all the poles with GPS position and heights, the string-combiner box-inverter configuration, the list of cables and their lengths, etc.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

The only negative aspect is the fact that the license is tied to the PC, given the cost it would be advisable to have a license that can be shared among several colleagues, for non-simultaneous use of course.

It has greatly reduced design time and increased the quality of designs. Without PVcase it would have been difficult to produce 30-40 MW plant designs with the same level of detail

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

What I like most about PVcase Ground Mount after approximately 8 months of working with the program is the number of things that can be done and the ease the program conveys while being used. That is to say, I appreciate the complexity of the program and the ease of carrying out the development of said program.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

In my opinion, there are many more advantages than disadvantages regarding the development of the program. If I had to mention something I don't like about the program, it would be that it could be improved by including an energy study of the photovoltaic solar plant being designed. That is, implement the pvsyst or a similar program within PVcase itself.

**What problems is PVcase Ground Mount solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned earlier, PVCase is an excellent program both for its complexity and its ease of use. If I were to implement something, I would try to add an energy study to the program.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

PVCase adds value to the company as it is a reliable tool for assessing the feasibility of a site. It allows for the study of the slopes of a plot and designing to avoid less suitable areas. Among its features, it is very easy to design with different structures, distribute strings, inverters, and power stations. Similarly, the electrical design option allows you to intuitively measure all the cabling and decide what type of trench to use depending on the distances obtained. Another aspect we value when implementing is the pile study, as it provides information on the exact position of the pile in X, Y, Z coordinates, allowing each structure to be adjusted to the terrain. The technical support is excellent and they usually respond within a few hours, with the possibility of setting up a tutorial to learn about new tools implemented with each update.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

They do not have a network license and do not allow it to be used on any device other than where it has been installed. You have to call to be able to transfer the license to another device, with a maximum of 2 changes per year. As mentioned above, it must be taken into account that the license cannot be used by more than 1 user regardless of whether they are using it or not. The frequency of use is not usual for just 1 person, and it's a shame that the program cannot be used by more than 1 user on different devices as long as the license is available.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

What I like most about PVCase Ground Mount is its ease of use. In my case, I have been using the software for four years, and from the beginning, I found it very simple. In a short time, I became familiar with the large number of functions it has, both in the mechanical and electrical parts. It is software that I use practically every day, and if it ever has issues, it is very easy to file a report, and customer support is very quick in resolving these problems.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

Perhaps the least intuitive part or where there might be a bit of a deficit is in the civil aspect when it comes to calculating earth movements.

It seems like a very complete product to me. Occasionally, it gives some problems, but the technical service takes care of resolving them promptly.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

PVcase ground mount is very useful for laying out the collection arrays of large scale PV projects. Some of the features I like best are:

-The ability to quickly update tracker table blocks if module data changes
-The customizability of tracker table configurations
-Automatic BOM generation for PV modules and wiring
-Warnings if trackers are placed on excessively steep terrain

Also, the quantity and quality of online training videos is amazing. You can open up PVcase and learn how to lay out your first solar project in less than an afternoon (Assuming you know to use AutoCAD).

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

When PVcase routes cables (for instance: between strings, combiner boxes, and inverters), it will occasionally chose incorrect routing, which will cause cable lengths to be drastically off. This has to do with how PVcase selects the starting point of the cable, and how it searches for the routing lines that the user has placed in the CAD file. If the starting point or the routing line are not placed perfectly, then the PVcase's automatic routing may find an in correct route for the cable to take. This can lead to incorrect cable lengths which can impact BOMs and voltage drop calculations.

Doing the CAD work to layout a utility-scale PV array would take hours. PVcase can do it in a few clicks (once you get the other design aspects in place, like stringing and table sizes).

A very easy and intuitive way to design photovoltaic plants. It greatly facilitates the creation of different projects and is easy to adjust to the different needs of each plant and each terrain. The creation of the wiring is a task that you automate and makes your life easier. Customer service is extremely fast and top-notch, which is appreciated in the face of project urgencies. Good job by PvCase.

Some updates need to be improved afterwards because there are functions that do not execute correctly. However, once it is reported, it is resolved quickly.

PV Case shipped up the estimation phase, giving me the opportunity to respond quickly to customer requests with an already high level of precision for a preliminary study;
it is easy to use and very intuitive;
excellent support for drafting project graphics.

I would have preferred to use blocks from my library to develope the layouts;
I would have preferred immediate telephone support for any sudden problems rather than making an appointment and having a contact not always in short-term;
I would also like to have the amount of insertion into the ground

It allows me to materialize the idea I have of the plant and make a detailed price estimate thanks to its multiple applications: adaptation of trackers to the terrain, slope study by N.S and E.W tracker, terrain meshing differentiating roughness by colors...

What I like least is its function of estimating an exact figure for earth movement, because when conducting the study considering only the beginning and the end of the follower, and not all the piles in between, it sometimes gives a figure that is far from reality.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

One of the best things in my opinion is the ease with which designs can be made starting only with basic information, such as technical data sheets of equipment, and it is possible to work with or without topography or point cloud. This ultimately helps to progress with at least a preliminary design while more precise information about the site or project in question can be obtained. Also, on several occasions, when in doubt, it has been possible to have the appropriate and timely technical support.

perhaps you could have a database or allow some equipment, such as inverters, junction boxes, to have their dimensions edited

The main problem that PVCase solves is the design time. With this tool, efficient designs can be achieved quickly, and it also allows for varying these designs efficiently.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

Before we started using PVcase at Echoenergia the design process for utility scale projects was a very long process, relying on spreadsheets for initial estimates which were followed by having to contract a third-party for a detailed layout. PVcase changed this workflow a lot, enabling us to do in-house detailed layouts in matter of hours. The software also gave us a lot more information about the layout, such as cable length, enabling us to have better CAPEX estimates in earlier stages of the project.
Also, PVcase integration with AutoCAD is a plus. It allows us to use the strengths of both softwares in the same environment, avoiding have to switch softwares for design and layout.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

The system could suggest cable cross section based on inverter and module power they are connected to. Also, it would be good to download the terrain of larger areas at once.

**What problems is PVcase Ground Mount solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PVcase solves our need for making utility-scale solar layouts in-house, a task that previously had a high cost as it was outsourced, even in early stages at the project.

Very satisfied with the use of PV Case Ground Mount for the design of PV plants.
Layout have a lot of possibilities on the civil engineering plan, the electrical design and the quantities are of high quality. Quick to learn and excellent support.
Design options range from preliminary to detailed projects.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

A possible improvement would be to parameterise the design of the trackers/tables with more details. 
Also create restriction based on the slope of DTM could be improve by a restriction based on the slope tolerance exceeded by structure.

PV Case can be used to quickly design consistent farm layouts to make capacity check everywhere in the world.
The bill of quantities are consistent and improve discussions with general contractors.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

Pvcase is the best program available today to streamline the design of photovoltaic plants. It is easy to understand and meets all the needs required to perform the best analysis and design of a plant. They are continuously updating it and adapting to the clients' needs with these improvements. 100% recommended for any developer or EPC contractor.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

There are some needs that require installing either Bus-type cabling analysis systems, but I know they are working to implement these improvements as soon as possible.

**What problems is PVcase Ground Mount solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is the best program that exists to determine the necessary quantities of wiring and design improvements for a photovoltaic project with the least possible error.

**What do you like best about PVcase Ground Mount?**

I really like that it is very user-friendly, the steps to follow are very clear and simple, and it also makes things easier for me and significantly reduces the time. I also like that it has frequent updates that are easy to install. Whenever I get stuck in a process, I turn to the Academy and it's very easy to find what I need, or if I want to know something more specific, I turn to online support and they quickly resolve my questions.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

I would like to be able to configure some elements such as profiles in colors and scales, as well as being able to add notes and personalize the profiles a bit more.

Now the design of photovoltaic plants is much faster, simpler, and more reliable than with the old manual design methods. I have managed to reduce the time needed for the development of a photovoltaic plant to less than half.

I would like the software to provide more information during measurements, such as the number of MC-IV, BT terminals, etc., although it does give us the cable length, which is super important.

One of the things I love about the program is that you can make changes and reconfigure the deployments in very little time and with great accuracy regarding how the work will finally turn out. Whether it's simply doing a deployment or when several tests need to be done until reaching the one required by the project, it is done very quickly and without complications.

At the moment, the earthworks section still has a bit to go to reach the level of the other options provided by the program. Even so, it is always useful for approximate values.

That some utilities are not implemented is more of a disadvantage of the sector than of the program, as they develop improvements after user requests, nothing serious.

As EPC construction company, we have PVCase as the base for our designs. The most I like from PVCase is the time earned when designing a PV Plant. Currently, we use each license for at least 4-5 construction projects and more than 40 commercial proposals per year. 

It is quite easy to start using and you can automatize several activities that take large amounts of time such as pile location or cabling.

Also, we can manage to adapt the PVCase files to create drawings easily by adapting the format or to integrate with other softwares.

Also, PVCase team are always on the other side to help with any kind of doubts.

Civil works are still not quite developed: design roads over topography, include drainages, improve trench design,...

Depending on each user, it may be overcoming the learning curve, although intuitive, it may require time to master all the functions.

Technical support: It is quick and effective in resolving any query, whether through the support page or via email.

Updates: They try to keep updating, they are concerned with understanding how users work to improve.

Great help in daily life, it is a tool that allows you to create very complete designs quickly, it is useful both for a development phase (easily analyzing many scenarios with iterative tools) and for a more constructive stage, reaching the detail of each circuit.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

I think they could improve some tools, the PVcase grouping option allows for quick power groupings, but it doesn't allow extracting a list of these groupings (without needing to generate a new PVarea).

They could include some utilities, such as the calculation of BUS cable or trench typology (accounting for the meters of trench according to the number of circuits).

Although it helps a lot to understand the terrain by analyzing the slopes, it is somewhat limited in the calculation of earth movement.

PVcase Ground Mount is an exceptional design tool and the best of its kind in the industry. I like that I can design multiple solar farms in a work day and quickly develop multiple iterations of each site. The ability to create a topo mesh, civil analysis, and grading tools are extremely helpful when designing new sites. PVcase has allowed me to be successful in my job and is like having a second designer with all of the time I save.

I've been working with Pvcase for almost a year now and I can say it's great. It's so easy to create a solar field, and the 3D construction makes it so much easier to work out details, and the electrical design is a lifesaver. Before Pvcase, we did it all by hand, now it's only half the work it was before. 
I highly recommend it.

There are only minor problems or missing features.  Often it would be cool to have a bit more knowledge about how PVcase works out the detail. A short description of how the system works out its details would be nice. For example, when shanding, I only recently learned that the shading of objects does not stop at the modules but goes through the modules and only stops at the ground, which has led to some confusion.

The time it takes us to create a solar field has been halved and we can try more variation for fields, because it only takes a few clicks and the park is ready. Before Pvcase, this was a lot of work and often details were forgotten or just not good enough. But with Pvcase, it's so much less work and we're able to create twice as many parks as before.

PVCase is a really useful tool for people working with PV development. The integration into AutoCAD allows it to import the high resolution terrain data and design the layout in a quick time. Any changes to the layouts and the aeras that need to be avoided can be easily marked. The layouts can be simulated with different parameters and the sensitivity analysis can be done to simplify the decision making. These layouts can be exported to PVsyst so that  the energy yield simulations can be done. These features give a complete package required from such software.

If the electrical parameters were included in Ground Mount it'd have been even better as the simulations could've been done in the same window. Since I've started using PVCase, a lot has been addressed through the monthly updates and a lot of features have been added.So basically there is almost nothing that I dislike about it.

I like the ability it has to create the layout of the photovoltaic park according to land restrictions and photovoltaic equipment data. You can iterate the pitch of the plant to obtain different capacities of the plant. It is also very good in trench design.

The price is a bit high. Also, the electrical sizing function could be better, especially in the arrangement of the conductors. The earthworks, although not the software's strong point, are quite basic; the function could be more detailed since it levels by taking only the ends of the tracker.

- PVCase is quite intuitive.
- Layouts can be created very easily.
- You can quickly define all the cables for a solar park, check that none are missing and extract their lengths.
- Customer support is very fast!

There's nothing I don't like about PVCase, but there are some opportunities for improvement, for example:
- After the user has performed the calculations, it should be possible to differentiate the cable cross-sections using PVCase;
- To help the user calculate the maximum allowable current, PVCase should identify the number of cables grouped together for the different areas of the layout.

I have used PVcase Ground Mount for two years and it has proven to be an incredible tool for the analysis of photovoltaic plants on land. Its use is very intuitive and guided at each step. By combining it with CAD, you can always go one step further and get the most out of its functions. Additionally, its support platform provides quick and always accurate responses, guiding you to make the most of it as a user. Furthermore, in project analysis at different scales, it facilitates the feasibility review of projects, being an excellent support for the viability assessment of a proposal.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

The analysis of earth movements falls somewhat short compared to other functions. For example, if we want to give different conditions to the default optimization of allowable slopes, it is possible to adjust those parameters, but it requires several programming steps that can increase the work time. In general, there are no issues; I would say it is the best option for users with previous experience in CAD with a technical focus.

I like how PVcase settings files can be imported/exported. It makes it easier creating a detailed database of project setting files by module type/ GCR /etc. that allows for streamlined project design. The terrain following tracker addition has been very benefitial for my companies preliminary design efforts and allows for the software to be utilized in many scenarios. I appreciate the update that makes the application load faster.

I dislike that the software can't place trackers on pre-determined PVarea based on optimizing minimal additional pile length. While creating offsets on terrain limitations is beneficial, there is an iterrative step of trial and error of moving trackers and adapting to terrain in order to see the affects on the extra pile length needed.

The truth is that out of all the similar products on the market, it was the one that best suited our work methodology. Additionally, they address our demands by releasing updates for what we often request. The advantages when it comes to designing and implementing, obtaining the 3D model for simulation, cable measurements, earthworks, etc...

Sometimes they take a while to implement some of the market changes, leaving you a bit out of the loop during that time, although it is somewhat understandable since they have to adapt to Autocad.

The ability to iterate and see how different pitch can affect your project is extremely useful when starting a greenfield project development. The electrical design module. Have the possibility to complete the DC and AC wiring of the plant in a few minutes. In addition to the electrical summary it shows, which helps with the sizing of the plant. 
I also find it quite important to be able to manually modify the position of the trackers starting from the design generated by PVCase. This facilitates adaptation to the possible design requirements requested by the client.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

Once the plant design has been completed starting from the PVCase design but also placing some trackers manually, it is not possible to modify the pitch while maintaining that final design created by the user.

I think it would be quite interesting if it were possible, starting from a reference point, to shift the tracker columns to the right while maintaining the positions relative to the y-axis. (As of today, when you modify the pitch, PVCase regenerates its layout but the user's manual design is lost).

With everything being automated, human error is greatly reduced: plant wiring. To be able to calculate a PR more accurately reflecting reality, the ability to include the terrain's topography and adapt the trackers to it represents a great advantage for our results.

I have been a user of PVCase Ground Mount for 4 years and to this day, it is an essential tool for the photovoltaic world. It is a powerful and stable software that helps you save time, minimize errors, and optimize the design of photovoltaic installations.

The handling of this software is relatively simple. It's a matter of familiarizing yourself at the beginning and after that, it is quick and efficient.

Without a doubt, to this day it is an indispensable tool in the photovoltaic world, with numerous functions, great development capacity, and a great team behind it always willing to work hand in hand with users to develop new functions and needs.

**What do you dislike about PVcase Ground Mount?**

Some functions are used more, others less, but undoubtedly all of them end up being used sooner or later. In my case, the least used is the iteration capability, although that doesn't make it any less important for some other user.

Sometimes, with a new revision, an error is found in the implementation. However, by being in constant contact with advisors and even IT technicians, these errors are usually corrected in a short time, typically in the next software update.

I find it ideal for developing PV park implementations and especially for taking cable measurements, as being able to draw it automatically avoids errors that you might make manually in the drawing, and above all, the speed with which these measurements are obtained. Exporting the measurements to Excel is also a great success.

I can't find anything that isn't useful, because it will depend on the user themselves. What is necessary, however, is a review by the user since, being automated, the program can make mistakes that you have to correct later if you don't enter the data correctly. For example, when you are cabling, if you don't draw the trenches well and do it automatically, it's possible that the cable won't go where you want it to.

We have been working in this sector for years and we have had the opportunity to try different software (not all) we have now adopted PVCase in our company for almost 4 years and we are happy with it. Appreciable both in the preliminary design phase and feasibility studies but its power is in the executive design.
An important note is the assistance service, impeccable, always operational and quick to find your solution to your needs. The continuous updates and improvements made thanks to user requests are also excellent and are making this software better and better.

I would say the price, it has a medium-high cost but I can definitely say that for what it does it's worth it!
