**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Putty I like it because it's a too basic and general tool to make ssh and telnet connections to any device you want. Just like you can connect and have control of a management device such as a server or some device that is control by command. This tool is too light for my taste, you can have it as portable anywhere you want. Every time you need to connect to a device quickly. This is the most necessary tool.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

The only thing I do not like about the tool is that it does not bring features as advanced as other ssh connection programs. Similarly, the tool does not have features such as tagging and command control. It does not have as much functionality and determination to have under control the power to handle any device

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

I recommend this tool to connect in an immediate and basic way to an ssh or telnet management device and to have a good and controlled managemen

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Fast connection to ssh and even serial clients, I use it for raspberry pi and it negotiates a very high transmission rate

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

No support to old ssh rsa keys, some legacy devices can not be managed via ssh with putty, only telnet

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Use mtputty version to support multi tabbed and tiles mode

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have to quickly manage raspberry pi gateways with custom iot application from developers notebook which does not have any ssh client installed, I usually execute portable version to accomplish this

  ### 30. My journey with putty

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

The installation process pf puttt is simple and pretty much straight forward, mostly used to connect servers and network devices, user based rights can be easily assigned, remote servers across the network can be easily connected with end point address, the connections made through putty are secured

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

It is very traditional kind of software which has a old kinda UI, as long as it serves the purpose of remote connections I believe the UI is not the thing of note, nothing much as dislike

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As it is a freeware app we use it to make remote connections over networks using ssh, it helps to maintain the security while making any ssh connections that increases the trust to adopt it for performing more remote connection operations

  ### 31. PuTTY The remote link that I need

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** beizabeth s. | senior civil engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Putty a tool very well developed and carried out to carry out the links remotely in relation to the use of open codes and Telnet, SSH, Serial, gives me a great amplitude in relation to the remote use for connectivity since we have several clients in different states and I do not have to move to these sites when I can putty with putty, this produces a reduction in cost to companies, the other thing I like is their security system that is constantly updated and that is confidence for the company its configuration is very simple and if you are a beginner you will not have much problem in identifying your panels because they are very simple. I can work with several operating systems on the market and it adapts very easily and I like that.
The creators of this software have several years in the market and that a huge support for those who use it.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

Actually talking about parts that displease would not be the right thing to do, we could talk about suggestions that could be taken into account to make the tool more user friendly and in this we could say that we change their presentation as they are not very worried and the visual part is not less important, put more clear tabs to identify to get what we want.
Sometimes other applications are needed to reform the connections but the package has them, the ideal would be to integrate them all and present them in only one would give a more robust impression of the tool.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

The recommendation is that you do not think much about what tool to use for my remote connections. Putty is the solution you need and you have varieties of fixed and portable versions.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The reality is that putty has helped me to solve remote connection problems no matter where you are in the distance I could super inconvenient that if I had to go to the sites would be very expensive and would not represent the expense, to others it is a free tool and in constant renewal.
I can make connections through any device that I have on hand from a fixed or portable scythe PC like tablet or smarphont, this is a huge advantage.

  ### 34. Ready to leave the field

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christina S. | Prêt à sortir du terrain, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

This also allows me to securely connect to remote servers, except for the ability to transfer files via SFTP and SCP. This tool has been used in my company to gain access to remote machines via SSH and Telnet. It is very fundamental, a pleasant SSH client for the user that allows executing commands somewhat like the terminals on MacOS and Linux.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

In fact, I don't see any visible difference after using this device, changing and recording certain settings such as font appearance have become non-intuitive. There are different times when I type with the wrong username and I have to restart the entire software.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Try, if you do a lot of work in the terminal, you might not reach the bottom of the page anymore. Try, if you do paintings in the terminal, if you need commands and IP addresses of your switches to apply it.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is the free and open sourcing tool that everyone can use. Database maintenance can be executed using this tool. It is a safe and fast alternative, without wasting time or money on programs that do not fulfill this function.

  ### 35. Good SSH and Telnet client

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wolfgang S. | Bon client SSH et Telnet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Putty is a great SSH, Telnet, or serial client. It is free and open-source. You can also download memory cards. It is a very comprehensive software that offers us great flexibility with some alternatives, allowing its users to stay informed because they generally use improvements and consistent development.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

The interface is an advanced piece for beginner users and sometimes it takes a certain amount of time to discover something. Authorization is an abstract piece because it does not have an interface to facilitate its use for the person who finds it difficult to enter or start using this software, but it is something for which a programmer must be organized.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Finally, it is an unblocked software, few software offer so many advantages for free. I could propose to apply this tool daily, according to your wishes, to gain access to Linux machines via Telnet, SCP, and SSH.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access my servers so quickly without configuring anything and simply type the server's IP address or domain and the port so it can be easily inserted into the console. I like this application because it allows you to join exclusive operating systems on your server. I find it very beneficial; I use it almost every day to access a Unix field, schedule jobs, and check activity logs executed under Unix.

  ### 36. A top-notch remote control gains entry rights to the client.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed S. | Rend PHP cool à nouveau, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

PuTTY records all the devices you have already accessed and has a robust set of settings and options. PuTTY is a simple and smooth tool for accessing Linux machines via SSH and TELNET.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

Start windows has some shortcomings such as appearance customization, as there are not yet different versions. There are cases where there can be an excess of statistics and where the computer device can be very stuck, which significantly influences the ability to examine the gadgets you need. This is excluded because in order to see several gadgets at the same time, PuTTY calls on each one to start a session, resulting in many log files being generated to help you verify your facts for later analysis. Appearance customization is visible, as if it were currently in the following versions.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

We recommend using this device regularly, according to your wishes to adopt statistics on SSH and Telnet journeys. I would recommend using this device in the usual way, according to your desire to gain access to Linux machines via Telnet, SCP, and SSH. Try it, if you do a lot of work in the terminal, you can't look inferior.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In particular, tasks where you have to browse servers and search for documents can be much simpler than with Putty. The observed advantages are associated with resolving a number of bugs for my company's solution platform.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great tool to store and collect server logs for the back end services that are triggered by our applications and has good connectivity compatibility with different systems.

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

It is a fairly simple program and does not require much additional configuration after installing and running it. Putty is excellent for connecting to a network system and also to FTP sites. It is a lightweight open-source program. What I really like is the great distance at which I can easily connect to another server like Linux, for example, when I am operating and need to make a commitment there. The configuration became quite simple and the program was very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

While it may be easy to use and understand, sometimes certain factors can become complicated, but with time, it ends up being easy to use. The user interface is asking for an aesthetic change as it is not very pleasant to use.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

It is simply a perfect program for transferring files from one site to another, plus it is a free program and very easy to use, you really can't ask for more.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

As per Recommendations, I will recommend others developers and may be engineers to use it as SSH

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 41. Managing devices with Putty

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chechu G. | Administrando dispositivos con Putty, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

- It is easy to use and has a simple interface. It is highly configurable and can also perform secure file transfers via SFTP and SCP. It is a very useful tool for managing network devices, not only these devices but also the servers running the ssh or telnet service. It is easy to use and has two versions, the most practical is the portable one, personally, it is the one I like the most and use more because it is very practical, it can be run and we will only have to choose the Protocol and where we want to connect, and we will have our connection established.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

- There is no option to write macros and some of the protocols Little improvement in appearance and interface It is really simple, therefore, it has very few options

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

It can be difficult to use for complex connections, but the general use is quite simple. I would recommend using this tool, as it provides a very straightforward and easy way to access machines via SSH and Telnet. If you need to access a server's CLI from outside the office, this might be the best option for being so quick and easy to set up on any PC.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Facilitate connections to the servers and from anywhere in the company. This is an open-source and free tool for anyone to use. Working on a codebase that is not local.

  ### 42. An excellent remote access client

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benja G. | An excellent remote access client, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Finally, I like that it contains several types of connections such as Telnet, SSH, Serial, among others. What it does, it does well. PuTTY allows local, remote, or dynamic port forwarding with SSH, including X11 forwarding.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

Perhaps because it is so simple, it lacks some features that other products on the market do offer, which make the work easier when connections are repetitive and constant to different devices. There are other times when I type in the wrong username and I have to restart the whole application.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Try it; if you do a lot of work in the terminal, it might not seem less. I love it, and it makes life easy, especially when you need to copy and paste screen output.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our system can manage files, move between different directories of sites and web stores, and execute necessary commands to update, clear cache, and activate or deactivate modules. The main benefit I get is the ability to connect remotely to the consoles of network devices that I have to manage remotely. This task takes up a lot of my working day, so it is vital that the connection is stable and secure, which is why I use SSH. Database maintenance can be done using this tool.
