**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

A very light client but still powerful to have a telnet session. For a windows workstation having a unix shell will become absolutely necessary in the heterogeneous environment in which I work. For no cost this is an awesome tool to get the work done. The SSH login is so made easy with this tool

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

The UI part could have been more better. If a multi-session window is provided to maintain multiple sessions that would be a great deal breaker. At the same time If I have to connect to 2 unix boxes then I have to launch two sessions of putty and again reconnect.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

na

I like the ease of use and having tremendous features that can be used in any platform and can be used for handshakes of different application be it any modern computing language like python or legacy language like cobol it will handle the interaction.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

I dislike about the interface that putty provides since it is less interactive and monotonous. Also there are some features like automatically exit to the homepage on pressing any wrong key also makes the things irritating

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

For interactive with multiple platforms/terminal the putty can make the work easier

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I interact my mainframe data with putty terminal and for mainframe terminal like TN3270 which has no interactive features contrast to that same had been done thru putty terminal and the beauty of putty is that it handles so well such that putty terminal behaves like a mainframe terminal

  ### 12. Putty - Easy to SSH

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditya J. | Security Delivery Analyst - Identity and Access Management, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2021

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Best about Putty is, no need to install it. There is no installation required to use Putty. You just need to download it from site and start using. Very easy to setup.
We can do ssh to any servers just by mentioning the hostname/IP and you can use using port 22.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

One thing I disappointed about Putty is, there is no shared window for multiple hosts. Suppose X host is now opened in new window and I need to do another ssh to other host. When you do it, it will create new window and it is slightly lazy to make switch to another window to see the host to work on. I would sugguest to have commnon window for multiple hosts so that we can navigate the host as per work. It will increase the efficiency, output, performance.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my current project, I use Putty as most of anything. While using Putty first time, I faced problem to change the window color from Black to other. Suppose X host window is already opened and I need to change the color right now so that I can distinguish the hosts by color, just to not to create confusions, I was needing thr open the host in new window. If I apply the changes in same window, It would not have reflected in current host, but in next window to be opened. This type of problem I faced during first time of use.
Resolution :- As part of resolution what I did is, I just opened the Putty as Administrator and then start using it. I applied the same and it worked where I was not able to do with Normal open.

  ### 13. Optimal way to login and operate on your server or vps

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Simple and clear interface, default setting works for plain use. You can set and save settings for all your servers so One click Is enough to be Connected! You can open multiple instances of putty

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

With some web connections (I see it mostly with 4g routers) putty freeze. I'd like a file transfer function

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can use my servers and vps in the same way I do being pysically there. It's a Life saver software using windows to linux control connection. I use it essencially in ssh

  ### 14. An overly popular tool for ssh/telnet

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hiren S. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2021

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

It's free, takes low storage space and its fast.
It can help you connect with any server provided by all cloud services.
It has all the options for different kinds of communications.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

The UI can be confusing for the first-time user if private keys are involved.
It doesn't save the previous login information or different session information, so you have to start from zero almost every time.
The UI is much better on the fee/trial version of some alternatives like MobaXterm, Filezilla, etc.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used it in my previous employer for about one year to connect to servers and deploy code remotely.

  ### 15. Quick and reliable

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Being able to save multiple connection settings so I can quickly access my servers. I also enjoy having multiple sessions going at once, which makes me more productive.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

Overall I'm very happy with this product. If I could think of one improvement, it would be the ability to reconnect to a session in the same directory when I log back in on a new day.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

It's lightweight and easy to use. I highly recommend using PuTTY if it's something that can apply to your workflows.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm accessing our Unix systems to run perforce commands and other utilities that we've developed internally. I also use it for text editing (typically through nano) for code changes.

The best thing about puTTy is that it is a free and open source terminal emulator, which means anyone can contribute to the development of putty, which is fantastic in terms of development purpose.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

From connection establishment to terminal, everything is user-friendly. The feature of copy and paste in the terminal should be introduced for more users' convenience when a connection is established.

everything is perfect.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using puTTy to connect with a server and perform oracle querying in the puTTy terminal. I am easily able to manipulate database queries with the help of puTTy.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan S. | Network Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2021

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

It is so simple but yet has any feature you could need. It's an SSH and Telnet tool that doesn't have any flashy features or bells and whistles. PuTTY meant to do the job you need it to and nothing more, which is a good thing. If they had put more features, it could have become more confusing to use. Kudos to them on making the right choice!

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

PuTTY could use an auto-update feature. Without looking specifically for it, you may not know a new version was released.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool does what it's meant to do. Never have I experienced a bug while using PuTTY, which; the benefit is you no longer need to look for another tool to use. You've found the best one.

  ### 20. Multi Platform Application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2021

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

The remotely working feature is very good with this application.
The stability is more when compared to others. Also it auto reload the things from where we left at the time is connection is lost. It has secured terminal connections.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

The dislike I feel is , while saving it only saves the username in the sessions we use.
Most of the time only Cisco applications are supported more over other applications. No copy and paste at sessions are on and itdoes not run on the x11 server, which need to be looked up

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem solving is, Its easy to use and user friendly for the remote connection to other server. Emulator is supported over here and easy configuration also tunneling option helps us more.

The Ssh client is quick and free as it's open sourced and it can be used without installing as well. Putty offers a executable called pilink.exe for windows that can be used in bat scripts to directly run commands into the intended ssh server, eg
plink.exe ssh adarsh@127.0.0.1 " ps -ef"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raymond S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2020

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

If you are connecting to a remote device unattended it must work with PuTTY, it doesn't matter if it works in MobaTerm, SecureCRT, or another program, the free and open-source standard for connecting to remote devices is PuTTY. Because of that, all my scripts that involve connecting to a remote device and running by SSH don't break when using PuTTY as a medium of transport.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

I do make sure everything I do works with PuTTY but I'm not a fan of using it unless is a one-time use, for devices that I need to connect frequently I have them saved in SecureCRT.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

If you work with network devices like I do make sure everything works with PuTTY, it's no use if your script only works with another fancy tool if your client is going to use PuTTY

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making sure that scripts that involve remote connections don't break when using PuTTY.

It is very easy to use.User can provide ip and port number on putty. And need to select the connection type only. There is options for different settings in putty like scroll back and logging options are available. And we can save session also like ip and port number for particular connection type can saved.Next time when user login no need to retype the IP and port.Just selecting the option saved User can login in to the session.Name of the Session can be saved in any name. That will help the user identify purpose of the session.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

For file transfer user need to use winscp like tool.User can not use putty for graphical support for file transfer.
Only user name for the session can be saved .There is no option i could see to save password for the session. While trying to make a connection putty wont show the log of attempting connection. After connection failed or success only user know the status otherwise there is blank screen

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Used for telenet session and ssh session using putty.A serial connection also made using putty.SSH session is made using putty on local network and through public network using port forwarding options.

The best thing about putty is that we can easily connect to server or host. Basically putty helps us to work with Linux system on our windows system.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

The thing which is most disliked is that it does not have multiple tab option in a single frame or tab.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

I'll recommend everyone this tool.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using this putty in our current organisation to work on database. Using this I easily can Autosys jobs and manipulate database.

  ### 33. Very basic. Will work well if you know Unix

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

It allows to easily check server logs and debug issues. Though very simple it is quite easy to use and once you know your way around it then things become easy. It is simply to see server and check for files present there. Thus comes in handy while deployment at times.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

It is very simple and by itself doesn't really have many features. Just lets you see server and do what you need. If you are not technical you might have difficulty using it. It also times out in case on non activity which is sometimes an issue with this.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

If you know unix and file structure of server it is easy to use.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use putty to check the status of our war in the server. Thus it helps to debug issues. We also see the server logs to check for any actual issues that might occur. It is quite handy for quick checking of stuff and you can use unix to manually perform actions with log.

  ### 34. A must have for everyday networking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darragh L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2020

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

It's free and open-source and available in Windows, MacOSX, and Linux and works exactly the same in every OS, so given or following instructions on how to do something is independent of the OS you are running it. It allows you to connect by a wide range of protocols, as long as you don't need key management it's pretty painless to use in everything you need.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

It isn't as potent as SecureCRT, for almost everything I use SecureCRT because of the extra features and easier key management for multiple services and servers but if a client of us needs help I'm not going to tell them you need to buy SecureCRT in order for me to help you, so that is why almost everything related to helping our customers goes by putty and not by SecureCRT.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

It's free if you need to connect sporadically to a network device it's the obvious choice

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly helping customers with their network equipment

  ### 35. Best Open Source Terminal Emulator

**Reviewed by:** Saud M. | Network Engineer | OG1, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2020

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Easy to use, portable version also available, lightweight are the top qualities of putty. I have used it to access routers, switches and servers. It doesnt require much processing resources and I found it quite reliable.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

You cannot open second session. logging the session is bit difficult and some advance features are missing.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

I think they should it, as it is very simple to setup and for beginners its the best terminal to use.
It doesnt require any high resources so you dont need very high spec computer for it.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it to login my networking nodes.
Another the best problem it solve for me, When ever i receive connectivity complaint from another team that they are unable to telnet of certain port but the port access is allowed from my firewall.
I ask them to use putty and telnet to the server on the specific port.
Since putty is easy to use, even non technical could do it and its solves my problem to trouble the issue.

  ### 36. Best Terminal emulator

First of all it is open source.
Supports various type of protocols like SSH, Telnet etc.
Lower in size

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

There is nothing to dislike.
If the setting are more simpler it would be better.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am connecting to client server using putty. It helps to access the resources of the project.

  ### 37. Free and very useful!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giacomo F. | Web developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

PuTTY is a free and highly configurable open-source terminal application. In addition to basic terminal communication features, it is also capable of performing secure file transfers. A peculiarity of this software is its truly simple and intuitive interface. I believe this is its strength, which is why many industry experts prefer it over other competitors. It allows you to save numerous entries, so you can easily reach all devices/servers that require remote access through the terminal. It is possible to use various protocols, among the most common, which therefore allows access to heterogeneous environments from the same application. An aspect worth mentioning is security, as PuTTY offers the possibility to establish secure connections through, for example, SSH.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

There are really few flaws that can be mentioned regarding this application. PuTTY does not offer the possibility to script each session, this is a gap that could be filled. Additionally, the graphical part could be improved, but it gives the idea of a simple and functional application.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Highly recommended for remote control

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been using PuTTY since my university days. It has been useful in numerous applications and many times. Moreover, PuTTY fills the gap left by HyperTerminal, which was discontinued by Windows. Additionally, its extreme configurability, combined with the ability to save connections, allows for managing and consolidating the ability to monitor devices and virtual machines into a single application.

  ### 38. Putty

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Casey C. | Principal Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2020

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Easy setup
Connection Setting can be saved with descriptive name

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

Does not save password.
Does not save font size

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Easy to use
Cheap
Works well on Windows

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Putty makes making ssh connection to remote Linux servers very easy.

  ### 39. It does not store acronyms or IP addresses.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos L. | Consultor de Proyectos, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

Putty is a very simple terminal emulator ideal for accessing active equipment such as switches, routers and NGN nodes operational and put into operation in the Telecom network of our company.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

I do not like this simplicity when it comes to storing the acronyms and IP addresses of routers, switches, NGN nodes and other active equipment installed or to be installed in our Telecom network. Every time I need to access a equipment I have to go to an external database and enter its IP address. I don't like its user interface either.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Although I do not use it constantly due to its limitations, it may be an option if such a large network is not managed where it is required to store acronym information and IP addresses of the active equipment (routers, switches, NGN nodes, etc.) to intervene and / or set up.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used this application to configure via SSH, routers, switches and NGN nodes both in operation and newly installed in the company's Telecommunications network. Given the limitations indicated in my previous answer, I apply it very little.

  ### 40. Thoughts on Putty

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carly A. | Scientific Researcher, Research, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

We mostly use it for remote connections to the ATLAS servers and to access their grid outside of our networks. It's simple and straightforward to use. I particularly like the direct way you can enable X-11 forwarding with this to work on Xming. It's very lightweight and gives you complete control of a device, given you've provided the right information. It's a must-have for my work.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

I don't like that it does not provide enough functionality as compared to ssh. It also doesn't really have good front-end interfaces.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Since it is freely available, I'd recommend checking it out.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned, we use it to connect to the out-of-network servers we need, work on x-11 forwarding, and general UNIX system development. It is a very straightforward tool which is a basic necessity if you are doing any work along the lines of systems administration. Greatly enjoyed the support it provides.

  ### 41. PuTTY Is a No-Frills Admin Tool with Exactly the Right Functionality

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason L. | IT Support Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

PuTTY is a very simple tool; point it at an interface and begin communicating. No configuration required, no UI to get used to , no documentation to pour over. Simply download and run, and worry more about the systems you are interfacing with, rather than the interfacing itself.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

There is no persistent client list or any way to keep a catalog of clients within PuTTY, so the interface must be specified each time it is open. This is a blessing (one less list to maintain) but a slight curse (more manual selections on launch).

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

It's exactly as simple as it looks; the software just works, and it works well.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PuTTY allows management of devices using Telnet, SSH, Serial comms, etc without any issue. There's no learning curve, and no frills about it; it allows a basic administrative task to be performed easily, as long as the system to be connected to uses one of its myriad of communication standards.

  ### 42. PuTTY: Easy and reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandro D. | ICT Security Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

PuTTY is a fundamental tool for a system and network administrator, it allows to open sessions towards machine using different protocols from Telnet to SSH in the most secure and reliable way. Easy to install, entirely free, intuitive and minimal. PuTTY gives the users everything that's needed to work in an easy and light way, connecting via CLI to any kind o machine that allows, with the right configuration, to bring up a session.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

The initial GUI can look like a little minimal from a point of view and a better management of the saved sessions and machines would be good but, apart from that, there's nothing really important I dislike about PuTTY

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

It is recommended to save and rename the various session you open.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting to various machines from Linux servers to switches and Routers, PuTTY is always there.

  ### 43. Very useful and supportive to run codes in different servers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikolaos Z. | Statistical Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

What i like most is that you can create custom shortcut commands in order to run codes easily. You can also have multiple sessions open in order to be more productive and do things simultaneously.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

I really dislike the fact that when you have a connection interruption or just change from WiFi to Ethernet connection, PuTTY is frozen and you can't do anything apart from restarting it. This is really inconvenient during high workload.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Please try and fix the "frozen" window after a connection interruption, because it is really inconvenient. If you use several sessions you need to restart and open each one of them from scratch,

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As i work in a Market Research Company called IRI, we run several kind of codes during the day in many different servers, some of which run SAS, some other R and some other WPS. Putty makes it possible to run these codes and even transfer files between the servers using the ftp command.

  ### 44. Effective Remote Access Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madan m. | Senior software developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

It often enables user to control the SSH encryption key and protocol version. It's just a feature that allows me to create remote connections towards its Telnet, SSH, Serial links and encourages a wide range for management by using open code. Putty would be the device one can use to connect remotely to servers or command center facilities by virtue of ssh or telnet protocol.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

There's nothing wrong with Putty tool.
Putty is an ability to manage the Telnet as well as easy control is a very basic tool for which the visual interface is so reliable.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

I suggest this application to connect to a ssh or telnet management system in an instantaneous and simple approach.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've worked out a number of times in connection with an emergency, such as connecting to a computer via ssh or telnet.
To get the business out of trouble as a missing packet on the network. This tool made me to connect very rapidly.

  ### 45. putty for connecting console in multiprotocol way

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Building Materials | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

I like putty because it's super light, it's very robust. putty needs no installation because there is a stand alone version.
with putty you can connect in console from a single point to many servers in console line, which are these accessible via telnet that via ssh that via other protocol.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

it's hard to find something I don't like in putty, if I have to find a reason why I don't like putti I would say that the GUI could be improved. profile storage management could also be improved.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

remember to save profile if you want to reconnect automaticcaly to a server.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

with putty we can't connect from one point to all of our console servers. we can connect to various platforms that are linux than windows and with various connection protocols that are ssh and telnet.

  ### 46. Very useful tool for network logging and configuring activities

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madhu R. | Software Quality Assurance Analyst, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

The application is supported in multiple platforms and can work for linux, windows and mac machines in efficient ways, that is an advantage for network operators to manage or configure the network devices with tcp port connections, the application is reliable and gives faster results during its operation.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

The application is very useful for network operations, though its interface is very simple, and the application supports connections over limited ports only, we can also take remotes of the pc, one thing that bothers me is the default connection time is less, the connection to the network device automatically gets disconnected due to longer inactivities.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Putty is very awesome tool to work with for networking device management if you are familiar with the basic port operations and commands to be used for configuring and managing the devices. Its interface is simple yet powerful application.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use to connect to the network devices with use of Putty in our premises to configure the device, like switching the ssh to routers, and enabling user connections, resetting switches, taking telnet or remote logins to the server. The command line interface was helpful in easing the work.

  ### 47. The tool is great use for network devices and monitoring firewalls, switches and routers especially

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saumya G. | Network Security Engineer, Computer & Network Security, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2019

**What do you like best about PuTTY?**

The application takes access of the system and indicates if the machine is down or up based on that the application starts connection with the selected device in very brief amount of time, the command line interface is a familiar control panel for a network operator so i like that. Also the application supports many platform functionalities, you can access a windows machine in a linux or mac system with using this application and network access only.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

The application interface is command line and the configuring window is shorter, a few more powerful builtin operations or commands could be added to the interface of the application to save the remember of huge coding commands for a user.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Putty is very useful and efficient application for managing network operations on the network devices and also easier to start using over the network ports tcp 22 and telnet services.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With use of Putty we use to communicate with the network switches and routers for configuring them and logging of traffic access and operational commands can also be done with the proper commands in the application after logging into the interface of the device.

it provides secure connection to the remote host at free of cost. For windows users, it supports multiple protocols like ssh, telnet, ftp, scp, rlogin.

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

its usage is limited to windows and not mac OS. it can be improvised into an IDE like eclipse so that it can be of comprehensive use for a coder. nowadays malware attackers name their virus after putty.exe to spread virus in the pretention of putty.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i use it for development, coding, debugging, data transfer between remote hosts, socket programming. also use this console to connect to serial port

**What do you dislike about PuTTY?**

The interface is very simple but sufficient for required network operations, the use of putty is not limited but its users interaction is needed to learn more and the connection drops if kept idle for longer duration.

**Recommendations to others considering PuTTY:**

Its a great tool for managing network devices and command line operations on them, with very ease and simplified user interface.

**What problems is PuTTY solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Putty application we use to access network devices, linux based servers and devices for maintenance and support operation, the application tool is quite reliable for such operations.
