What is Purple?

Purple are a leading provider of WiFi analytics. WiFi analytics involves using your guest WiFi network as a means of capturing customer data. This data can include name, date of birth, interests, hometown, contact details, footfall, dwell, frequency of visits and more. You can then use this data to build better customer profiles and drive personalized marketing campaigns - ultimately transforming your guest WiFi network into a revenue generating tool for your business. Purple's software solution ‘sits’ on top of your existing guest WiFi network. When guests connect, Purple captures their data via a captive login portal, and tracks their movement whilst in your venue using their devices’ unique MAC address. Purple's login portal can be completely customized to match your branding. The portal also connects with leading social media platforms, enabling guests to login quickly using their social media credentials. What do you like best?

The combination between the technology offering and the people you work with. There has been no difference between the attentive 'sales' team and the service since we've become a customer. We were able to conduct a proof of concept with clear objectives (that we surpassed) and were guided through a seamless and quick integration, which allows us to deliver an enhanced customer journey offering and a clear return on investment. What do you dislike?

We integrated directly with our CDP which required a little further understanding between both parties. It was brand new so we hit a few bumps along the way but working with people who really cared about achieving our goal showed what a great team we have to work with at Purple. We're able to identify 5% more customers who come through our stores - and this is just a starter. We can then set up automated communications to potential customers and convert them to orders, as well as being able to drill down into the analytics provided to us using the Purple WiFi suite to learn more about both our customers and prospects. What do you like best?

Purple does what we need them to do: providing a stable portal for our users to access the internet on the go. They do this well. The user interface of the portal is pleasant, and I appreciate having the flexibility to alter the user flow, send out microsurveys, and more. What do you dislike?

It's difficult to get specialized attention from Purple, even as a large enterprise. I find that most of my questions lead back to the same answer: "Contact our support team". As the point of contact for a large team suffering from consistent issues within the portal, this is an unsatisfactory answer and a major point of frustration. The portal makes it difficult to collect large batches of useful data, as downloads are miserably slow for large data sets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Purple is best utilized in organizations that are committed to providing quality WiFi to their guests. Purple is a good force multiplier, but won't be able to singlehandedly improve your WiFi system - nor should they be expected to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Purple offers a better user interface than our enterprise's previous WiFi manager, and our CSM is able to provide useful data insight on short notice. We are using the data collected by Purple to create a sharper image of our customers by following them throughout our extensive network.

Despite not being a priority within my institution, Purple has allowed me to stay informed on our WiFi statistics and push for an overhaul of our WiFi on the hardware side, which has been a major pain point for customers and analysts alike. Until my organization is committed to truly maximizing the potential of our WiFi, there is a soft ceiling on the potential for our relationship with Purple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

What the brand values ​​most is the support of the supplier in order to grow and improve your metrics.

What do you like best?

Purple is always evolving its tools for the better of the costumer. Looking for more accurate data and working on its vizualization. The support group is always ready to help when troubleshooting or explaining its tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Have been working with the team at Purple Wi-Fi for several months now and it's clear that it's well supported, with several new features released. The team are very proactive and regularly have follow up calls to try to ensure we have the best experience possible. The dashboard for managing the Wi-Fi is very flexiblle in terms of analytics/reporting and gives us some fantastic inghts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

We'd like to have more flexibility when it comes to designing e-mail campaigns off the back of Wi-Fi signups. This also applies to splash pages, although they are a bit more customisable. The best solution would be the ability to upload our own HTML.

Also, we would like to be able to download our weekly e-mail reports from the dashboard in the form of a PDF document. It would be great if we can get a monthly report in this format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Greater marketing to our Wi-Fi network. The ability to follow up with people using the Wi-Fi and suggest events/offers they might be interesting.

What do you like best?

Using the Purple WiFi portal is really simple with all its user friendly features. Purple have a development team which works hard to consistently find improvements to the portal, ensuring it stays ahead of the competition. There is now a feedback feature forum too which allows you to leave a request, the more people that agree with that request, the larger chance there is of Purple creating it. It gives users and partners some control of what they require on the portal.

The company in general is also easy to work with. You are assigned an account manager, as well as working closely alongside employees in different areas of the business. We've managed to build a successful relationship with many Purple employees, to ensure we help each other when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

During the server switch there was a long period of roughly a month where the portal was very slow at times, hindering our day to day activities. Such as providing training for our customers but when the portal doesn't work, it can make us look unprofessional. However, we're fully aware that those changes needed to happen and in fact it was partly due to the improvements being made on the portal, which of course we are happy about. We work closely to Purple WiFi to solve any issues with new/current customers. The portal allows in depth training/demonstrations to prospect potential customers. The team we work with at Purple are also always on hand to support with questions or meetings.

Some features which solve popular problems are the TripAdvisor Review express in connectors, the email platform makes things easy for the end user, especially with all the automation options, and we are beginning to use the Logic Flow options more frequently as this solves many problems for business owners. What do you like best?

It's true when they say the company of Purple WiFi are valuable. Purple Wifi is ideal for combining guest wifi and marketing.

What do you like best?

Purple provides a complete solution, it has almost all features and functionality that we could ask for. Their system is more mature than many of their competitors and things tend to work better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The user interface is not very intuitive. It takes a while to figure out how to accomplish what seems to be fairly simple tasks. There is a fairly steep learning curve. Also, the functionality in terms of design is more limited than I would like. This gap is closed some by the ability to use custom code, but this makes it more difficult to execute, requiring a programmer (although they did provide some templates to help get us going).
