"Lots of potential and constantly improving, though it's not easy for beginners"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Pulsar Platform?

Although it takes a while to get things set up, once you have a robust search you can use dashboards to filter responses and gather quick insights. Once you're confident each part of a dashboard is correct (the search, the filter, the segment etc.), the insight can be applied in lots of ways. Having filters set up in dashboards has made it easy to get quick insight upon request and sped up reporting for several disparate campaigns.

The new evolution of AI 'themes' from 'topics' is great to use with senior stakeholders and applies a lens of exploration that would be quite hard to intuit or define as an individual. The ability to export large amounts of the feed is certainly beneficial and the standard export comes with many of the fields used to create the graphics in the search - which allows me to reproduce what I'm seeing before conducting further investigation.

The Pulsar team are highly engaged and easy to get hold of - where it's easy to ask for help or bounce ideas. They're always willing to come in and offer training and the regular power-up sessions are really engaging even when they're not about a related industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pulsar Platform?

The UX could do with some work, and it's particularly difficult onboard casual users using the product. One such issue is that dashboards and reports lose legibility when exported, meaning that they cannot be directly sent to stakeholders. We have a very 'noisy' name and pull in a lot of irrelevant posts, which also means users need a good understanding of boolean logic (even when using the wizard), so it's not easy for newcomers to understand.

Another aspect is that filters are applied locally and lose connection to the original so that we can't "change one and update many". Also, the date filter often resets itself and it's quite subtle when it does - this has led me to quite a bit of re-work. It is hard to ensure the data is reliable without lots of checks and balances, but often the output is worth the annoyance. The sentiment scoring isn't overly trustworthy for our industry.

The Audiense integration is incredibly useful in theory, but the limit to X data has proven a problem - I'm excited to see how it can be used with TikTok. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Love It Overall"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Pulsar Platform?

The breadth of functionality is very impressive, as well as the actual output and what you can amend to showcase your data in the best way suited to your needs (e.g. creating tables in the dashboard). Before you even get to this stage, the automatic data that you get on the launchpad is great - especially the key themes. That is super useful if you don't have time to really deep dive into the findings. If I was to say one thing, it would be the Key Themes! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pulsar Platform?

Maybe that there are various platforms within the platform that share some commonalities - potential for them to be consolidated into one. But this is a minor issue and does not impact the usability or the output you can get to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Navigate Platform with Responsive Support and Unified Social Insights"
5/5
What do you like best about Pulsar Platform?

Easy to navigate interface with different sections laid out clearly, making it easier to train the team. Pulsar contacts are also always quick to respond which makes satisfying client's requests so much easier. Having one platform that pulls through all social platforms is also very beneficial, and is something that really helps sell the product in to clients Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pulsar Platform?

Sometimes the coding of sentiment is way off, particularly around words that can be used in multiple ways (mainly those the younger generation have adopted). Having recently starting using email alerts, they are often quite clunky and would benefit form having a layout more similar to the platform so it's easy to digest Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Pulsar’s Reddit Panel Tracking Delivers Deep Healthcare & Pharma Insights"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Pulsar Platform?

I really like Pulsar’s ability to track Reddit panels, as it gives me a wealth of insight into specific areas of interest in the healthcare and pharma world that would ordinarily be harder to come by. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pulsar Platform?

If there’s one thing that could be improved, it would be a more user-friendly way to select multiple markets to run Boolean searches against when using TRAC (in Boolean mode).

Right now, I can use the LOCATION and LANG operators to include specific markets in my search, but it would be much easier if this were available as a drop-down menu or a tick-box selection on the setup page when I’m choosing my channels.

It would also be great to be able to create different filters so I can run different languages separately across those selected markets when building my Boolean search queries. At the moment, if I need to run multiple languages, I either have to create one long combined Boolean query in different languages or set up multiple searches, and that takes some time. Not only do you have access to the biggest range of channels on the market, the data clearly comes from people who know what matters to strategy development. "Pulsar Empowers Creative, Exploratory Social Listening and Audience Intelligence"
5/5
What do you like best about Pulsar Platform?

Pulsar is the only social listening tool I've used that genuinely supports creative, exploratory thinking with data. Across both my academic research and consultancy work, I rely on its ability to let me zoom in and out on different aspects of a dataset, combining multiple modules together in ways other platforms simply don't allow. For my Big Qualitative Data research on Long Covid and vaccine discourse, Pulsar's audience intelligence and social listening capabilities have been essential for surfacing patient-driven narratives at scale. On the consultancy side, I've used it to build entirely new methodologies, like blending audience data with survey insights to decode brand entertainment value. The platform rewards curiosity and methodological creativity, which is rare in this space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pulsar Platform?

Honestly, there's very little to dislike. The platform is feature-rich, which means newer users may need a bit of time to discover everything it can do, but that's a reflection of how much is on offer rather than a design flaw. Pulsar's onboarding team are responsive and genuinely helpful, which makes the initial ramp-up smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Professional, Committed Team That Makes Working Together a Pleasure"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Pulsar Platform?

The people are what make it. It’s great working with Archie and Cian; they’re both highly professional, helpful, and truly committed.

I also admire their funder, Francesco. I met him and I thought he came through as a true innovator, someone eager to break the mold, which is key when it comes to digital. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pulsar Platform?

There are some limitations with the platform. I’ve used Brandwatch in the past, and I feel the way you can build very specific datasets, categories, and filters in Brandwatch is a bit more advanced than in Pulsar, for example, the NEAR operator. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great AI for Fast Topic Insights"
4/5
What do you like best about Pulsar Platform?

The AI functionality is great for a really quick look at what is going on within a topic before delving into themes in more detail. The sources are also very comprehensive, being able to include recent TikTok history is very useful for trend research Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pulsar Platform?

The downsides are sometimes slow uploads of topics when the system is overloaded, this is often sorted with a quick message but can take a bit longer than expected to run some queries. The historic search ability could also go back a bit further for some sources Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great influencer tools and outstanding support services"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Pulsar Platform?

Pulsar’s Audiense and Trac tools help us immensely with monitoring and research for client campaigns. We especially like the influencer tools. As an agency that’s in the early stages of building a niche influencer network, it was really helpful to discover we already had a tool that supports us in the early, time-heavy stages of researching content creators and gathering data about them. One of the best things about Pulsar though is the support we receive from Alex and Emily, the monthly calls we have with them, and the quick response time on all our emails. The team knows they've got help to build searches and figure out how to use Pulsar in the best way and compared to other services we've used in this space, the Pulsar team is definitely the best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pulsar Platform?

We were looking for a full-service platform that could cover all our needs across media relations, monitoring, and influencer research. The Pulsar team clearly worked very hard to build a platform that ticks all of these boxes, but the connection between the tools isn’t always as strong as it could be. "Easy-to-Use for Building High-Impact Social Strategies"
5/5
What do you like best about Pulsar Platform?

Pulsar is easy to use and helps us create and carry out high level, yet relevant, social strategies for our clients and monitor conversation around our client brands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pulsar Platform?

The only dislike we have is that sometimes you can have too much data, which can make it difficult to find the meaning of the data - but this is a good problem to have! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
