What do you like best about Windchill?

1. Light yet powerful CMS.

2. Can access account on multiple devices with current update.

3. Coupled with Arbortext Editor and isodraw, user can create all type of user, installation, disassembly documents with history saving option.

4. Can create multiple workspace and switch upon user need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windchill?

1. Light software & user friendly but application could freeze/close when working with heavy model workspaces.

2. Could give error when checkout/checkin if user have tried to login into diff system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windchill solving and how is that benefiting you?

1. Application crashes while handling heavy 3d CAD models, 2D to 3D rendering or 3D to 2D rendering, PTC is working on it., If solved user can 100%rely on this tool.

2. Contour on 3D is an issue again, had many freeze/application close, hopefully PTC will resolve these in upcomming updates Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Windchill?

PTC Windchill is a Product Lifecycle Management PLM tool where one can store and use each and every details of product and components from scratch to obsolete and to lifetime. I like the way its UI is designed, i can easily track, find history of all products. I am able to save save my 3D and 2D cad data, pdf, xml, office files also Auto cad files on Windchill. Using PTC Windchill i can release the whole project, product in system to access all departments within company. I am using PTC Windchill for Check In & Check Out, release of 3d &2d of components, attributes filling, BOM creation, project management, daily task, classification explorer etc. Workflow management, Version views, metadata creation, Nested and multilevel BOM creation. What do you dislike about Windchill?

PTC Windchill is a web based application and not an individual app available for Windchill that i little dont like. Also sometimes catche creates problems and need to delete catche manually while using Windchill with Creo this is also one dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Windchill:

I recommend PTC Windchill for product based companies to manage their products whole life cycle, useful for documentation also, saves almost all types of files at Windchill. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windchill solving and how is that benefiting you?

In old days I am releasing project using emails for that beed to keep copies to each and every concern person of alll departments in company it was really a time consuming process this problem is solved by PTC Windchill as now I am only releasing project in Windchill and every user if Windchill in company got released notification and access of the same. Also it is very useful for BOM creation, Using Windchill i got quick access to all product library and easy to find one from billion and millions. Using Windchill for Engineering Change Management, ECR, ECN release, metadata promotion etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Windchill?

PTC Windchill helps in maintaining the lifecycle of a product and link all the related documents to a SKU to the part object. This helps me in easy tracking of the SKU. It allows user to customize & personalized interface based on their requirement.

Price for PTC PLM Premium is somewhat high than other Product Mangaement solutions.

Creation of WT parts is must to create Windchill BOM.
