It is effortless to use. It is essential to keep data in a proper manner and place. While working on large design projects, we find it very useful for quick search of data we need. We get the benefit of keeping data backup on the windchill. We often get storage issues, so it's a perfect option for large companies. Below mentioned points which i liked while using windchill 1. Wonderful mechanism for check in & checkout 2. Can manage design document like customer approved drawings and other documents easily 3. During BOM creation structure making is user friendly 4. ECR & ECN workflow is as per standards and user friendly also 5. Best thing about wind chill is that it belongs to PTC, which is having Best Design Softwares like CREO wildfire which can be connected with windchill and all drawing, 3D cad, Part codes, Their ECN, promotion can be connected well. When I open a part in windchill and want to see it's 3D CAD then use that particular cad file will be downloaded and then can be opened in CREO. What problems is Windchill solving and how is that benefiting you? I use this tool for overall project management, ECN management, Part code creation, their review and promotion. There is no need for a server to store my data and same would have required if all cad, drawings and other project related documents. I personally likes Data updation through ECR/ECN , Revision on files and the best thing is that you can keep both files in it, new as well as old.
