Product Life cycle management is made simple using this tool. We use this software for Bill Of Material(BOM) creation, Check-in and check-out of CAD data, design documents, process management and design generation. The best part I noticed is we can able to customize its user interface, which is really helpful and user-friendly. We can able to do Engineering Change Request(ECR) and Engineering Change Notice(ECN) easily. It integrates and performs well with PTC creo. Product data can be searched and accessed from any department in our organization without any trouble. Drawing revisions can be made easily, and it notifies the change to all the users in the loop. **What do you dislike about Windchill?** Errors sometimes occur while working on larger CAD models that result in hanging and closing the program; this seems uncomfortable while working. In order to create a Windchill Bill Of Materials, WT parts need to be created for all the parts. Otherwise am ok with PTC Windchill for PLM. **What problems is Windchill solving and how is that benefiting you?** In our industry, we design and manufacture Heavy machinery. Wind chill helps us to maintain CAD models, Design data, process management, and BOM creation. It also helps us in ECR and ECN management. The product library is easy to access, and we can able to pick whatever is required. Any changes done to the document are notified to all the users, which is really helpful. Using PTC windchill project visualization can be done, and process planning and Cost Estimation(PPCE) are also made easier with the entire product data available. ### 13. You can also manage assembly cad BOM here. **What do you dislike about Windchill?** When I open a part in windchill and want to see it's 3D CAD then use that particular cad file will be downloaded and then can be opened in CREO. But there is alternate of that, you can open windchill directly in CREO and then cad can be opened in same window **What problems is Windchill solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use this tool for overall project management, ECN management, Part code creation, their review and promotion. There is no need for a server to store my data and same would have required if all cad, drawings and other project related documents. Windchill publish your CAD data to a lightweight viewable automatically. The Creo-view format let no-CAD people to understand how the product has been designed.
