This means that, if you have 2 'Log a Call' actions open at the same time, Provar can only interact with the first one it finds. **Recommendations to others considering Provar:** Provar is an end-to-end test automation solution designed especially for Salesforce. Provar comes as software that you install on a PC or Mac, with a Chrome application that lets you build Test Cases in the browser. **What problems is Provar solving and how is that benefiting you?** 1) If we use other tool then we need to do lot of rework to handle sales forces changes. Where as , in provar we do not require that much of rework. And, it has power tool feature of Test Builder from which we can easily find out the locators as well as aura component very easily this problem we can not handle apart from provar tool. Re: the known limitation around Global Actions, this is true in a sense, as Provar will by default assume the first matching locator for the matching element. If your locator is not unique (for example if you open the Notes panel on the same record twice) then there is no unique locator. There are other scenarios where it can be avoided. During this year, we have converted our manual test regression suite having 400+ test cases to an automated test regression suite. We recently renewed for one more year as we are so happy with the tool and the support given by them. **What do you dislike about Provar?** No points to mention. I didnt find any during my first year with this tool. **Recommendations to others considering Provar:** As a user, i can strongly suggest Provar for Salesforce automation testing. **What problems is Provar solving and how is that benefiting you?** Few points i wanted to highlight are: 1. Unlike other test automation tools, maintenance of scripts is very minimal. 2. We no need to worry about new Salesforce releases as it is aligned to Salesforce road map. 3. I have raised almost 20+ cases in the community portal when we have any kind of doubts/issues. They responded with in 3 to 4 hours and the support given by them is "AWESOME". I am really impressed. 4. I am currently using the (Provar Version 2.0.5.04). It is very easy to use, and we can quickly automate the business flows using test builder. 5. Unlike other tools, it is very easy to automate Quick Actions, the Side Panel and Custom Components using Provar. 6. No need to much coding skills. **What do you dislike about Provar?** Sometimes it can be slow and a lot of bugs may prevent you to do what you want. The support team may not be fast enough for your queries. It needs a license to run which is quite expensive, however, it makes your automation testing more valuable if you can afford it. **What problems is Provar solving and how is that benefiting you?** - It can cover most of you regression testing automated. It is pretty useful during releases and dry-run testing, as it can be set to work in multiple environments if configured properly. Also, it is quite good for data-driven testing, for instance, if you want to test data loads/migrations in a simple and effective way. You can leverage the spreadsheet (Excel, CSV, etc) OOO feature for reading and writing data. Provar - Architect Review **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Jeff K. | Salesforce Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2020 **What do you like best about Provar?** I am a Salesforce Solutions Architect who works on a freelance basis, and as such worked in many industries and with many different sized companies from small (just a few people) through to multi-nationals with many thousands of users and development teams, both in-house and partner based. I have not been involved in testing (well automated testing at least) until now, where because of the maturity of my present client in the Salesforce space, I decided to recommend an automated test tool, and that’s where my journey with Provar began. After looking at the market and deciding that Provar was the way forward, after an initial discussion, I asked for a generic demo for the wider project and test teams – wow, were they impressed… so much so that they wished we had investigated this solution earlier. The guys at Provar then created a customised demo for us (after giving them access to a Sandbox) which went down even better than the first as we saw our implementation being tested and much quicker and in-depth than the manual testing that had been taking place beforehand. We saw that every option of about 900 odd combinations of three dependant-type picklists could be tested via a spreadsheet (this was never going to be tested manually!) and that any data created during the test process could be removed ready for the next test to start, as well as how easy tests are to create and seeing the results in a consistent PDF format ready for distribution. I have had the opportunity to follow the excellent Trial Guide and can confidently build tests myself from very simple to what I would consider complex, and being able to switch between profiles and data driven tests. When Provar was originally installed with the test org they provide for going through the Trial Guide in my own time – as I love learning something new (did I mention how good that was?), I did hit a small snag connecting to the org, but after a simple email and a webex type call to my personal contact, Victor, this was corrected in a very short time and shows the commitment by Provar in offering the best service possible. One of the features I have not yet been able to explore, due to time constraints is the ability to test non-Salesforce , browser based applications – My current client saw this as a value add and included in the base product and something I will be exploring soon. Provar is not a web-based product and needs to be installed on a laptop, but there are also other options, including headless. I attended one of their online conferences “What's new in Summer '20 – Provar”, where they showed not only new features in Provar itself, but also what’s new in the Summer ’20 Salesforce release – I hope these are a regular occurrence, and I urge you to attend these if at all possible. In conclusion, I would recommend any Salesforce professional or indeed anyone provisioning a Salesforce solution to look at the benefits of an Automated Test tool, make sure it is fit for purpose, geared towards Salesforce and gets regular updates in line with Salesforce releases. Ask for a demo just like I did – it won't hurt and I’m sure you will be as impressed as me and my client was!
