I liked most of the features in Provar. 1. Though it is codeless, we can write and overload functions in .java classes. 2. Importing of excel files, copy the cells that is there in scope click on the left arrow. That is enough to get all the data like, range for the cell, excel sheet name, workbook name etc., 3. Creating the test case as such we can simultaneously develop and execute the scripts. 4. With minimal changes it can be ran in different browsers. 5. Last but not least, the support team was always there to unblock the automation testers at critical times. **What do you dislike about Provar?** Nothing as such. Also, there are many ways for the user to do test executions, such as running using a test builder, run through ANT. Another thing is, Provar can easily recognize what Salesforce pages the fields are displayed to avoid confusion with the user. Test steps can easily be grouped and add the user's test data. **What do you dislike about Provar?** Sometimes when you update steps, the ProvarX value is being deleted, resulting in errors when running the execution. Every time I run a script, the Provar Chrome tooling vanishes from the browser that's opened by Test Builder. I keep adding on the browser opened by Test Builder but it keeps vanishing. But, after a few days after installation of Provar, I do not see this issue. The Best thing about Provar is with no time with record and play feature you can automate the test-cases. Very easy to perform all the operations by writing the functions in pageObject like we do in Selenium which really helps us to execute the .exe files created using AutoIT the third party tool into Provar. Another best feature of Provar is that you can rerun the failed test-cases and all the results are provaided in PDF as well as Excel format which helps us to analyse the failures along with sceenshots in PDF format also the excel provides detailed information which helps allot. The Community Success Portal Provided by Provar helps us to raise our concern and the consultation Provided by Provar is very Helpful. **What do you dislike about Provar?** Need hands-on this tool to master it. Selenium knowledge is required to handle complex scenarios and work on Page Objects. The Functions in Provar needs more detailed information and complex Functionalities present in Provar need to have more detailed examples with clarification. The examples of the functions and UI actions needs to provide more detailed information and example in Provar itself to help us Automating and using functions in it. Some Objects need to be Identified by inspecting as Provar failed to provide the reliable object it was rare though. We can't open multiple instances of Provar which is biggest dis-advantage also the project name cannot be changed ones created. Rename feature in provar is the big issue name carefully as changing would be headache. **Recommendations to others considering Provar:** Best Tool for salesforce Testing Strongly recommend to use this tool for testing. **What problems is Provar solving and how is that benefiting you?** Automating Salesforce Internal tool hence, finding very easy and helpful. Bit difficult to understand for Manual Tester. many complex frames and Aura Objects in Provar was identified seemlessly using Provar tool it really helped us to Automate the test-case at the earliest. Everything is integrated into the Provar especially the inbuilt API which I liked the most. **What do you dislike about Provar?** The only thing i missed here is test builder working for Google chrome only and having the Provar chrome extension on other browsers as well would be a surplus for Provar. Few Aura metadata should be synchronise properly or should be updated so that it can identify the elements quickly and we don't have to go ahead for Page objects identifiers **What problems is Provar solving and how is that benefiting you?** we are using Provar for Salesforce Automation, and it has benefited a lot to us by downloading metadata in prior which helps us recognizing the elements very quickly. It is very easy to learn the Provar compared to other tools like Tosca. Its hard to know who is actively using the licenses at any given time, which occasionally results in users not being able to script. I was very impressed with presale support and development of our POC. **What do you dislike about Provar?** To be able to test complex, customized Salesforce applications, you absolutely need to know Java and/or Selenium in order to write methods to perform actions that Provar doesn't know how to do with custom objects. Object location is very hit or miss. Even if I have page objects created for the areas I'm writing new tests for, Provar by default will suggest either making a new page object, or using a locator that doesn't actually work. Requires an in-depth understanding of Xpath. The tests are very sensitive to timing and environmental issues. A test step will fail, but if you step back and then continue forward again, it will pass. Very frustrating and prevents us from yet being able to deploy these to run autonomously. Requires user intervention for nearly every single run. Very expensive yearly cost. **Recommendations to others considering Provar:** Let them provide a POC of your most complicated use case scenario to see if it can do what you need in the way that you wish to use it. **What problems is Provar solving and how is that benefiting you?** Provar consultants developed the first 10 smoke tests for our organization, which when run in Provar, take about 25 minutes if they run thru without any false failures. Once you build the scripts and then make functionality changes then the existing test scripts may need to be updated, otherwise they may not recognise the new items and fail the test.
