We couldn't upgrade the system over a long period of time because certain features were missing which are crucial for our pricing. We were finally forced to do the upgrade because of end of life of flash player. Unfortunately the version we wanted to use has some bugs resp. things were changed for bad (in our cases). Sometimes only minor things but also these can make obviously an impact.

The road map was / is not always clear and changed to our disadvantage, see above regarding missing features.
