Solid Proposal Builder Going Through Some Growing Pains **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Nate K. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2021 **What do you like best about Proposify?** The whole system is well thought out and makes creating dazzling new proposals very easy. My close rate on work was significantly high after using it, and changing little else. **What do you dislike about Proposify?** I have been using Proposify for years at this point. for the last 2 years, they have been transitioning to their updated 3.0 version. Some of the new features are useful, the layouts are clean, and the editor seems to be improved (though nowhere near where it should be in 2026). However the transition to the new system has been anything but smooth. There is no reliable way to migrate proposals and templates from the legacy system. There are a number of features, like pricing table settings that are no longer available. My biggest gripe with the old system was a rickety editor, but I have gotten used to it. Point being, I am still using the 2.0 system, which limits my capabilities, because I still can't upgrade without upending my entire workflow. I have no intention of switching, because even the old version is still better than the competition. Interesting note, I would imagine new users would not have any of these issues with the new system, as they don't need to migrate or miss pre-existing features. **Recommendations to others considering Proposify:** There are a few major options when considering a proposal tool. I've tried all of them. Proposify is the best one, hands down. **What problems is Proposify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can produce proposals that used to takes us 2 hours in about 15 minutes. And they close at a higher rate. ### 2. Their large library of templates gives a solid starting point, with plenty of flexibility in how the final document looks. We tend to use Proposify at least once a day. **What do you dislike about Proposify?** The document editor can be a bit tricky to work with. Changing templates isn’t always straightforward, and we’ve run into problems with edits not saving properly. The pricing tables are especially awkward, particularly with sizing. If you add a line item, the table suddenly blows up in size, and sometimes it won’t let you resize it. The only fix seems to be saving, closing, and reopening. **What problems is Proposify solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Proposify to create client proposals and contract specifications. ### 3. Once we set up our templates for our basic proposal structure, sending out proposals is incredibly quick and efficient. It has saved us a lot of time and keeps our process streamlined. Plus, the proposals look very professional when our clients receive them. **What do you dislike about Proposify?** I feel that using the editor can be frustrating at times - especially when it comes to text formatting and the tables. I find that the tables are usually kind of glitchy, which is a bit frustrating. Also, copying and pasting from a Word Document into Proposify typically does not work, as the formatting gets all messed us. Our clients have also had issues receiving and/or opening the proposals from Proposify, which we typically solve by sending them a PDF. This isn't the end of the world, but it is an extra step that sometimes needs to happen. **What problems is Proposify solving and how is that benefiting you?** It saves a lot of time by using the proposal templates and not having to rewrite every proposal from scratch. ### 4. Having so many different spots to get your mouse *just right* was absurd. It was not user friendly. Whenever I sent the proposal for approval I had to send a separate slack message to the approver with what was changed and any notes that were made on the adjustment. The having to click in just the right spots for pricing was a pain. Yeah there were some good options but we moved away from the shared frustration. **What problems is Proposify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sending out proposals for signature, and ability to create multiple drafts to send out. ### 5. Web Development, Social Media Management, Inbound Marketing etc. This coupled with actually turning a proposal into a standardized client agreement (contract) with electronic signatures, game changer! **What do you dislike about Proposify?** For us there's not much to dislike at this point. The editor is a little outdated but works. Pagination can be finicky but not enough so that we'd ever want to go back to Word docs and PDF's. Font options, size and color could be easier. **Recommendations to others considering Proposify:** Give it a try and compare it to others out there. Fee tables are very cool but also has it downfalls. **Recommendations to others considering Proposify:** Proposify is growing with an incredible support department. When I had an issue with the product that was not a bug just misunderstanding on how to use it support we awesome. **What problems is Proposify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Helping close deals faster and get signatures. The huge benefit is the tracking of when it opened how long are the review sections of the proposal. It's simple to use and templating makes for rapid production and creation of similar proposal types. **What do you dislike about Proposify?** Proposify's page editor needs a decent amount of refinement. All in all its pretty simple to use, but multi-page content needs special care to keep it aligned and make sure its always visible. **What problems is Proposify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Proposify helps us track the proposal we put out into the wild, and connects to our CRM, billing systems and marketing platforms with ease.
