With HubSpot’s strong integrations, raising a proposal directly in the opportunity and pulling through the key details, tracking, and completion notifications is really handy. Their large library of templates gives a solid starting point, with plenty of flexibility in how the final document looks. We tend to use Proposify at least once a day. Changing templates isn’t always straightforward, and we’ve run into problems with edits not saving properly. The pricing tables are especially awkward, particularly with sizing. If you add a line item, the table suddenly blows up in size, and sometimes it won’t let you resize it. The only fix seems to be saving, closing, and reopening. Very difficult to make changes to my doc. Furthermore IT makes random changes to my doc without my knowledge. Got me in trouble with some contracts it mistakenly modified. 1. With Proposify, I can put all of my thoughts, all the things I want to tell a prospect, all the selling points for my product in a single place. 2. What do you dislike about Proposify? Updated: The editor is crap. I had a bit of a problem learning their program because I don't read user guides or watch tutorials. I just like to jump in. It's good to be able to collaborate with a team on a proposal. The best part are the tools for pricing - it really simplifies our ability to offer options and add-ons for pricing. While all other areas of the platform feel well fleshed out, the proposal builder feels like it was an afterthought - at best. I frequently have to fight with the editor to get what I want done. This SaaS company was designed to fill a niche business need--creating a proposal software that looks great and can be used by non-designers. It offered us templated customizability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Proposify? The concept is great but the software itself is very imperfect. My team spends nearly as much time navigating a glitchy UI as they do writing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Proposify: It's too buggy for the price you pay Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Proposify solving and how is that benefiting you? Here are some common bugs/issues we encounter: - You can not create a draft proposal without first entering ALL the contact information for your lead, which creates headaches and a need for a ton of placeholder accounts because you NEED to have the email address to set up a customer profile, even if the sales team only has a phone number. You can not enter your own email address as a placeholder if that email address is already used in a different profile. If you opt to just use a placeholder account, all the variables on the proposal will be broken. - The new pricing tables are very difficult to use and are not intuitive. I wish they integrated with google sheets or allowed you to simply import an excel table. Currently, the prompt to choose between the old and new tables is broken. If you choose "no thanks, I'd rather stick with the old one", it just sends you back to the screen to update the table to the new version with no way out. - The standard contracts are laced with errors. I understand they are not a legal service, but for the price you pay, sample contracts should be looked over by an attorney for basic errors. For example, one of the contract templates we used would continuously reference "Exhibit A's" that have never been established. - Also on contracts: some variables update throughout the proposal, but do not update in the contract portion--for example, the variables with your company name and your client's name will update throughout the contract, but the state you operate in does not. So I have sample contracts that continuously refer to a preference to litigate in NY state when our business is headquartered in Florida. This could easily be made a variable. These are things I can manually update, but we purchased this software to alleviate manual tasks like this. I find myself fine-tooth combing every output. -Sometimes early in the sales process, a client will want to see a proposal with multiple plans or pricing options to choose from, and we would like to have those plans outlined under one proposal. There is no good way to do this because the proposal still shows one set price on the signature screen, even if multiple prices are referenced. -When sending a proposal, you must cc the principal contact that you have on file from the organization, even when sending the proposal to a member of the sales team. You can't remove the principal contact without first updating the client settings, then going back to the proposal, but if you do this, it breaks the signature portion or reassigns the signature portion to the person you've uploaded as a replacement. We have not found a good workaround for this and instead, opt to just cc everyone, even though that sometimes creates confusion. -If you temporarily delete a section of your proposal, there is no option to bring that section back in during a later edit. E.G. if I want to hide the team page on the first round of the proposal before the client agrees on the scope of services, we can not go and add the team page layout back in without creating an entirely new proposal or layout from scratch. -Page breaks are very wonky and the text editor is also glitchy Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
