"By far the best communications platform I've used"
5/5
What do you like best about Propel?

The fact that Propel integrates directly with our Exchange server, allowing us to actually send "real", personal email pitches to journalists, makes a huge difference in the personal touch we try to foster with journalists. The ability to keep detailed notes on journalists and our pitching activities, to really make Propel into our own purpose-driven platform for our organization is amazing. The customer service is above and beyond as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Propel?

Honestly, there is nothing that I "dislike" about Propel. However, for media monitoring and reporting I still find myself subscribing to CoverageBook and Critical Mention. It would be great if in the future Propel could functionally replace those platforms as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Useful tool for PR agencies"
4/5
What do you like best about Propel?

Prior to using Propel, we had a custom build of Salesforce Lightning for managing our pitching. Propel is much better, as its built specifically for PR teams. We use the CRM as well as the reporting dashboard for clients. It's been useful to organize contacts, log coverage, and we can export the data to view all up trends across the agency. The team is also fairly responsive to requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Propel?

It can be somewhat buggy from time to time or take a while to load. Also, as they're a growing company, sometimes things change with little to no heads up. Still, they do their best to correct anything that has gone wrong. UI could be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A pleasant experience overall"
4/5
What do you like best about Propel?

I like that propel is pretty easy to navigate. You can pretty much find your way around without doing the tutorials but they are there if you need them. There are a good amount of journalists on there from a good variety of industries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Propel?

I think that some of the processes are made to be useful but aren't quite there yet. For example, the double pitching criteria is helpful if you're the only one sending to those contacts but as an agency, we have a lot of people sending emails and so excluding double-pitched contacts from a list removes people that you may not have actually finished pitching.

The only other thing that can be difficult is searching for journalists/outlets using the categories option or the topic search. I find that some categories, such as parenting, aren't on the list but other more obscure ones are and I'm not entirely sure why. I know there are journalists on Propel who have parenting as a topic of interest so I'm not sure why it isn't available as a filter. I also find that the topic search often shows journalists/outlets who are completely outside of the industry that I am looking for which isn't really helpful. "My experience/review of Propel"
4/5
What do you like best about Propel?

My experience/review of Propel comes from working with our Propel representative, (Kameron Pugh) she does a fantastic job and not only responds quickly but any request we ask her she immediately attends to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Propel?

Sometimes when we are trying to pull media coverage for our clients it seems to miss too many articles/clips/etc. Also when clipping video coverage, the duration of the coverage is a bit too long, it would be amazing to get that shorten down to 30 seconds per clip. "All-in-one PR solution"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Propel?

I l ike that everything is in one place with Propel. I can take notes, reach out to media and see getting all my reporting in one place. It's a nice CRM to have in my arsenal. The convenience is unmatched. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Propel?

I like that I can get reports but they are not comprehensive. Sometimes, they system doesn't pick up coverage and I have to use another software as a backup. I hope they're working to make the reporting more in-depth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quality independent PR software"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Propel?

Propel's ability to report media relations activity and results across our large agency is extremely valuable. The client-facing dashboard also allows for transparency our clients like. I also like they Propel is independent (and not owned by Cision like the rest of the PR software world) and able to quickly enact customer feedback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Propel?

Because Propel is a startup, there are some growing pains that have impacted us as a customer. Changes to the software have unexpectedly removed features that we used regularly which was frustrating, but the CS team quickly acted on remedying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Get Propel: You'll Regret Not Using It"
5/5
What do you like best about Propel?

There's a lot to love about Propel and my top highlights include:

1) It brings everything into 1 platform (Google Sheets, MuckRack, Streak, etc)

2) You can link directly to your client's Google Analytics so you can see the business outcomes -- so for instance this article drove XX clicks and XX demos or sales

3) You can see who at the firm has the best relationship with the reporter

4) You can see team stats -- who gets the best conversion, who's pitched, how many people they've pitched, etc

5) You can set follow up reminders so you never forget to follow up

6) You'll never double pitch because the system knows that a particular person on the team has already pitched that reporter on the news Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Propel?

I'm excited that they will be rolling out YouTube and Twitter influencers later this year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use, intuitive PR database"
4/5
What do you like best about Propel?

I love that Propel has the PRo in mind — we want to see data and analytics on our pitches. What subject lines are working, what pitch resulted in a response from a reporter, and ultimately converted to an article. Propel has all of those tracking tools built within which has proven to be so helpful! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Propel?

One thing I want to see improved is the Chrome extension — sometimes it makes my computer a bit slower. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
