Largely because of this, and that the platform is selectively for online studies and surveys, of the alternatives, Prolific provides a good value. **What do you dislike about Prolific?** A few times there have been delays in crediting deposits to our account. Separately, the website is often slow to load. Also, the mobile website is difficult to use and some aspects do not load completely. I have found that it integrates well with the platforms I use (specifically Qualtrics and Gorilla), has a large pool of willing participants, and generally provides high-quality data. My research focuses on cognitive ageing, so it is important for me to be able to recruit older adults as well as young people - I have no issue doing so via Prolific. **What do you dislike about Prolific?** The fees seem a little high. I can usually get results in a day for a survey that doesn't have stringent parameters. The data quality is excellent; I only have to reject a few respondents who clearly barreled through the survey. The customer service is wonderful and they will add a screening question to their pool for panelsts to answer for their profile. Obviously it takes time to build-up that screener, but it's nice to know Prolific is listening to its researchers. For quick surveys that do not require sophisticated quotas or screeners, I will always choose Prolific. **What do you dislike about Prolific?** I am unable to set customized quotas based on geographic and demographic parameters. When trying to make niche samples, the pool becomes tiny and it forces me to use other platforms. In order to set my own quotas, I have to duplicate the study and add new parameters, which is cumbersome and leaves room for human error. They've implemented a U.S. census option which is significantly more expensive and difficult to hit. In general, the panel skews white, so it's difficult to recruit POC in general. I appreciate their initiative for fair pay, but outliers cause the survey time completion to be much longer than in actuality. This will cause my survey to close unless I add more funds. Prolific insists on participants being paid a fair wage per hour, and does a lot of filtering for you so in my opinion it's worth the extra money to get higher quality data. **What problems is Prolific solving and how is that benefiting you?** Prolific helps me recruit participants for my studies quickly. Recruitment often takes less than a day which is incredible!
