"Setup a plan for first time, it was awesome!"
5/5
What do you like best about ProductPlan?

It was easy, and simple enough to understand what should I do to create my schedule. I liked any entry in product plan with an ADO PBI, which was great to sync data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ProductPlan?

Some of the time line items were not necessarily in the right order, besides all items were set on a calendar year. Table and list view were perfect. I had to re-arrange items manually, which was not an easy task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Completely up leved quality of conversation with leadership and stakeholders"
5/5
What do you like best about ProductPlan?

Containers and lanes help us show trade offs and go from high level to more detail during a quarter Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ProductPlan?

I wish I could see a quarterly view which when I zoom in turns into a weekly view. Different settings call for different views for the same roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I think it does a great tool for organizing product plans, and the interface is easy to learn"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ProductPlan?

I like that the interface can be quickly learned and interpreted by members of my organization that are not very good with computers. When applications become overly complex, it becomes difficult for some people to adopt. The product plan team is very accommodating, and we feel like we are valued as customers. There is usually a quick response time when contacting the support team at product plan, and we always are aware of who our current account manager is. I especially like how lean the application is and how it can be accessed on any device using a good browser. The tool makes it easy for multiple people to collaborate on the same plan without worry of having their information overwritten. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ProductPlan?

I think that the the product plan is a few iterations away from being perfect. There are a few buggy issues with my company's SSO and accessing product plan, which causes problems with every person who gets assigned a license. I also think that the list of roadmaps could have more customizable views, where roadmaps that your team is not a part of do not have to be seen by everyone. Editors should also have the ability to request access to roadmaps while inside the tool instead of having to communicate with the owner outside of the tool. I would reccommend that the product plan team consider building out other supplementary components like Gannt chart functionality, as most product managers also end up working as project managers for specific projects related to the product they manage. If they could reduce the reliance on other tools like Jira and be able to drill deeper into the aspects of project management within the specific bars and containers on their overarching plans, it would be trendously helpful. "Good product with great potential"
4/5
What do you like best about ProductPlan?

Integration to capture progress of the project in real time

Sprint wise view and calendar view Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ProductPlan?

Drag and Drop is not very fluid enough

If you create version, then it duplicates the plan view for all participants who then get confused which was the original roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Use Platform with Nice Features"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ProductPlan?

I've been using ProductPlan for over 3 years now and have really enjoyed the platform. At first, I wasn't sure about the tool, having previously used a proprietary roadmapping tool in my last position. ProductPlan is easy to use for both green and seasoned Product Managers and I have really been enjoying and taking advantage of the ranking feature with my stakeholder group. I like how multiple parts of the platform can be customized based on your workflow and you can even make and share versions of your roadmap which helps with setting expectations and even limiting what is shared based on your audience. Another helpful tool is the Jira integration- nice touch! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ProductPlan?

One of the only things I would change is from the top nav; there is a dropdown where I wish I could access all of the roadmaps I have access to without navigating back to the main list. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective Tool for Communicating Strategic Plan to our Clients"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ProductPlan?

ProductPlan has become an essential tool for us! In our work with Nonprofits, we develop strategic roadmaps for their technology projects. ProductPlan simplifies the communication of those roadmaps by making them visual. This tool allows us to clearly communicate timeframe expectations, order of events, level of effort required, department(s) affected, and responsible parties.

There is a unique color-coding feature that allows our clients to read their strategic plan with a corresponding "legend." The legend enables us to divide objectives by department, staff member, or strategic objective categories. And the roadmaps are easily updated after a conversation or evaluation with our clients.

Most importantly for day-to-day use, there's a "you are here" feature which allows our clients to note progress that has been made, as well as the distance yet to travel. We check in monthly

Our clients use Salesforce heavily, so we've come to love the Salesforce integration which allows our clients to view their Roadmap inside of the Salesforce environment.

In addition to using ProductPlan for our clients' strategic planning, we use it internally, to drive Product and Service development within our own company. We return to our Roadmap again and again, week in and week out. It provides accountability for our team, and the way we have it set up - each accountable party can see everyone else's progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ProductPlan?

Our team hasn't found many downsides to using ProductPlan! However, we've primarily been using it in the way it is intended to be used.

I would like to see an integration with a task management or project management system, where tasks can rolled up to selected objective and automatically update progress on roadmap bars! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple tool to visualize roadmap across multiple teams"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ProductPlan?

There are a number of things I really like about ProductPlan

1. Easy to digest and update roadmaps

A major purpose of a roadmap is to clearly communicate the strategic context to anyone who is looking at the roadmap, and ProducPlan does a great job of clean design to make roadmaps very digestible. It is also very simple to drag and drop edit a roadmap, which makes roadmap updates very quickly.

2. Prioritization

The prioritization feature helps us objectively classify features in consideration to ensure we're focusing on the right things that will drive outcomes.

3. Roll up roadmaps across multiple teams

The ability to roll up different roadmaps into a single Portfolio view allows individual teams to focus on their roadmap, but also roll up to view how different team's work come together and give a high-level view.

4. Unlimited viewers

Being able to invite unlimited viewers allows us to share roadmaps across the team, but still in a controlled-access environment.

5. Many different views of the roadmap

You can view the same roadmap as a timeline, list, or table, which gives flexible tools that are used for different process. Timeline for high level visualization. List for quarterly planning. Table in the prioritization process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ProductPlan?

The Trello integration currently is very light, and it cannot map over tags directly into ProductPlan.

The list view only shows items in the column (month or quarter) they are complete. Using this for OKR planning could really benefit by showing initiatives across multiple columns.

The tool can get quite expensive for a larger team of editors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
