I think the premise of Procore is solid for unifying project information on a given project. The drawing management tools are solid and the revision control is excellent. I particularly like the inspection and daily reporting tools as they give an easy to use interface for the field staff who may not be as tech savvy and it also provides a solid audit trail for project activities. The program, while catering to trade contractors, feels like it is clearly built for general contractors and has no current way of integrating between different companies platforms. Subcontractors can upload submittals and RFIs and send them to the PM for review. The PM can filter/adjust the content, then forward them into the system for answer or approval. Submittals and RFIs can easily be found. Drawings can be marked up in Procore by anyone who has been given permission. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Procore? It is too difficult to use, and even worse is the project setup. There are company levels and project levels. Permissions for every item or document at project and company levels must be set up correctly. A directory at both levels must be set up to send emails or documents to anyone through Procore. Change events attached to Change orders attached to Purchase Orders make the budget and adjustments there-in ridiculously difficult. One must mark in/out of scope just how the software wants and not related to the actual condition. The meeting minutes are incredibly complex and detailed to get meeting notes, invites, and progress. I liked Procore when I was a subcontractor. Procore makes document control much more challenging than it already is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Procore solving and how is that benefiting you? I don't know that Procore is solving any of my problems. Two years later, Procore continues to have limits. Things must be done in an exact order. Heaven help you if you need to go back a week and adjust a mistake you made. Procore will only allow you to adjust the most recent entry. I like the possibilities of depth that Procore has available. The amount of detail and information that can be put and shared on it. I like the search function, especially the fact that you search within the job, and not just within your account. With so many documents on each job this makes it easier and quicker to find things. I feel that the notifications I get are so lengthy and wordy because they always list out all the recipients before the actual topic of the notification. I think it would be more efficient to either omit all of the recipients in the notification, OR put the topic/content of the notification before the list of recipients. It's hard as the reader to determine what the notification is even for at a quick glance. I have found it necessary at multiple points to separately email the other contractors in order to determine what was being asked of me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Procore solving and how is that benefiting you? Problems that get solved is sharing large files that are unable to go through emails. Also, everyone working on a job having access to the documents is important so someone doesn't have to constantly be sending the documents out to people, instead, the workers just have access to what they need when they need it. The project management tools are solid, the commitments are great, and the CO's are good, but the process is clunky. The daily log is very useful and the budget tool is the most useful tool there is. We lose so much time on billing every month that it has cost us more money in time than it has saved us. For this reason alone, I am having a hard time justifying the cost.
