The ability to design and target pop ups is great, as well as the cart saver features and the fact it captures abandoned carts earlier than any other pop up **What do you dislike about Privy?** I don't like how they haven't integrated fully with Recharge and subscription discounts. The in-Privy discount creation is pretty basic! Also we stopped using email with them because the unsubscribe button wasn't working and we had a lot of annoyed subscribers who kept receiving our emails. They weren't able to resolve this so we moved to Klaviyo **What problems is Privy solving and how is that benefiting you?** Growing our email list is key to our overall marketing strategy. Compared to Klaviyo, another platform we have used is a little bit pricier while they offer pretty much the same marketing services. **Recommendations to others considering Privy:** Draw a plan. Simple, yet able to customize to your business’s needs **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Kent A. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2021 **What do you like best about Privy?** I like how Privy intgrates well with shopify, such as including pop-ups with discount codes and follow up email sequences. you can also customize campaigns depending on whether a user is known, whether they have seen your campaign already, and more. there's also plenty of options and templates for customizing emails with product links, buttons, menus, and each link within the email automatically tracks the user so you don't need to create any UTM parameters yourself. **What do you dislike about Privy?** privy can look a little clunky in terms of design, and also if people sign up for your newsletter using a shopify email form, they won't necessarily end up on your privy subscriber list unless you manually add them using an excel file. also there is no option to save your brand colors within the email customization so you have to constantly enter the hex code of the colors you want to use. However, this can be avoided by saving an email that you designed as a template. **What problems is Privy solving and how is that benefiting you?** acquiring new customers once they are on my site is easier now that I can use a pop up showing that new sign-ups can receive a discount on their first purchase. Also, after their first purchase I could send an email sequence showing them how to use my product as well as following up weeks later for a restock email sequence. ### 6. We don't have to have one popup that targets ever customer. **What do you dislike about Privy?** Initial setup was pretty easy and was done on our own. Once we tried to build our first popup, we had some issues, but worked through them. My main dislike is there is no way to preview a popup once it is built unless you go to the site and view it. My issue with their pricing tier is that it's based off an estimated amount of visitors that is calculated every three months. I would prefer the tiers be based of popup views or off actual visitors each month. **What problems is Privy solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have been able to capture several new contacts for our e-mail list with a popup. When I first started using Privy, I did not have too many surprises nor did it take too long to get used to it. In addition, Privy is also very easy to install and configure. I have integrated Privy into my websites on Shopify and WooCommerce platforms. Whatever the platform, integrating Privy into your website is very simple and easy. In addition, Privy also provides users with a lot of pre-defined templates, for me they are very beautiful and eye-catching, helping your website greatly improve conversion rate. Pre-defined templates also save you a lot of time, so you don't have to spend all day designing your pop-ups. Websites on the Shopify platform are not affected, but websites based on WooCommerce are seriously affected. I have used some tools to test website loading speed and showed that my website is slowed down 5-10s after integrating Privy. Although the free version of Privy offers users a lot of features, meeting almost all my needs, it has the logo of Privy. This has no effect on the effectiveness of Privy but it makes me feel quite uncomfortable, not to be allowed to hide the Privy logo. In addition, the paid version of Privy is also quite expensive when compared to some other competitors on the market. Many other services offer paid features that are even cheaper. I think Privy should adjust the price to be more reasonable. **Recommendations to others considering Privy:** Although I no longer use Privy now, I still think that Privy is a pretty good tool for those who want to build their email list from visitors on their website. I am quite satisfied with the features and efficiency that Privy brings. Everyone should give it a try. **What problems is Privy solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Privy to build my email list using the pop-up displayed on my website. After a period of using Privy, I find that its sign-up rate is very good, almost the best among the tools I've used. My email list is growing very fast and stable. I am quite satisfied with Privy. However, when I moved my websites from Shopify to WooCommerce, I had some problems with page loading speed when integrating with Privy. So I no longer use it at the moment. ### 13.
