PrismaScribe started at home. The founder’s wife is a journalist, and after interviews she often spent more time transcribing the recording than conducting the interview itself. He built a tool to help her get through that work faster. Eventually, it became PrismaScribe, now developed by Fuerte Vision, a small company based in Lithuania. PrismaScribe is an AI transcription tool for anyone who works with audio and video: interviews, meetings, lectures, lessons, and podcasts. You can record directly in the app, upload a file, paste a link, or, on paid plans, send a bot to a Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams call. A single file can be up to 8 hours long on the Pro plan, with up to 32 speakers identified. It supports more than 99 languages with automatic language detection. It can also handle conversations where people switch languages mid-sentence, which is common in multilingual interviews and meetings. Once a recording is transcribed, you can get a summary, extract action items, create meeting minutes, translate the transcript, or turn a lecture into flashcards and a quiz. The transcript can be checked against the original audio and exported as TXT, SRT, VTT, PDF, DOCX, or Markdown. Custom vocabulary lets you add names and technical terms that might otherwise be transcribed incorrectly. Action items, meeting minutes, and custom vocabulary are part of the paid plans. There is also a dyslexia-friendly reading mode. PrismaScribe works on the web, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. There is no Android app yet. Recordings are encrypted and are not used to train AI models. The free plan includes 30 minutes of transcription per month, with files up to 15 minutes long, so you can try it with your own recordings first. Paid plans start at $7 per month, or $4.33 per month with annual billing.
