My company started to use Primetric system this year, and it helps manage our time and resources. As a primary user, I find the system easy to use. The layout is clear and interactive. Minor stuff like shortcuts and keybindings to boost productivity, e.g., adding extra hours in a weekly panel and pressing enter, doesn't add them, so then you need to do it manually by clicking or adding or removing bulk hours for a whole week. Besides the functionalities that we required, e.g. resource planning, clockify integration and financial forecasts Primetric has something unique for any kind of software. Great support team that is result-driven and knows how to get the job done. Primetric people will help you not only to properly implement Primetric, so you can start using it immediately, but they will adjust it to your requirements and internal processes as well. Primetric allows me to be proactive in all the resource allocation, planning, and financial forecasting activities. Pros: - designed for software development agencies and IT service business processes, - clear and understandable data about resource utilization, - planning projects and booking teams for them in one place, - different types of assignments (non-billable, billable, active, reserved, drafts), - in-depth financial forecasts taking into account project and company overheads, - Open API, - Great customer support that helps at every stage of Primetric usage, - smooth implementation process (1 day required for data migration). Recommendations to others considering Primetric: If you are looking for comprehensive software dedicated to a software development company that allows you to plan, estimate, track and predict the availability of developers and profitability of projects, Primetric is a perfect solution. The first thing that comes to my mind is that Primetric helped Future Mind to reduce bench time by 3,500 hours per year. Other problems and benefits: - Single source of truth, so every dept. can easily find all necessary information about resource availability, project profitability, and forecasts related to tentative projects, - Better budgeting cut out for the IT industry - Primetric allows the company to finally budget projects following the industry practices. - Financial forecasts - the team can instantly see the hourly rates of specialists and analyze the margin per project or its phase. This helps to assign the right people to the right projects. - Easier team allocation - this made a difference in a larger team thanks to smart filters. For example, it’s easy to find a Senior Python developer with good command of English and analytical skills. - Permissions that make sense - data is accessible in line with the permissions system matching the actual roles in the company (HR, sales, PM). - Advanced reports - these reports allow the sales team to check if there are any free resources. Project managers can use them to optimize resource utilization and move specialists across various to help them train new skills and ensure their professional development. Thanks to Primetric, our processes can be as flexible and minimalistic as possible. Due to the specific character of our R&D projects, we need to build processes that can be adjusted to everyone’s needs on the fly. Primetric also helped us minimize the number of meetings required to make decisions about allocating people to projects. Pros: Reduced number of spreadsheets in use No more chaos originating from the dynamic of R&D projects Fewer meetings Transparent view on resource availability Improved planning process What’s more, the Primetric team is always available to us.
