  ### 2. Set up your online store without complications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

PrestaShop offers an easy and free way to set up your own online store. Although you will need a minimal base of knowledge, it is not necessary to be an expert web developer to achieve very good results. Everything is installed intuitively through a wizard, and finally, we access a panel where we can finish configuring everything and manage the store. It allows the insertion of additional modules that add extra functions. Internally, it has many functions: management of items, categories, suppliers, orders, invoices, payment gateways, etc. The results with a few adjustments are quite professional.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Although PrestaShop is free, it has paid modules that might be very expensive. At least basic knowledge of web development is needed. It must improve in security and compatibility with some web servers regarding PHP.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

I recommend it to any person or company that needs an online store and doesn't want to invest a lot of money. For large companies, I would look for other options or custom developments, but for small or medium-sized businesses, it is perfect. The fact that it is free is a great advantage.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you are thinking about setting up an online store, it is a great help, as the investment will be minimal and you can achieve very good results. It greatly aids in order management, stock control, web promotions, customer loyalty, etc., which makes it a very good management tool.

  ### 3. The best option to create your online store

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Geremias M. | Graphic designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

It is a gesture of very complete and ideal content to create online stores, has excellent inventory options and you can also configure almost all the elements of the web, something I like is that I can find a wide variety of templates and accessories at affordable prices.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

The installation of this content manager is a bit complex, although some hosting has an option to install it quickly this is not always the full version, as their templates are usually different and some have more options than others.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

I recommend it if you are thinking of developing any type of electronic commerce, Prestashop has an infinity of ideal characteristics for this area.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool allows me to create powerful secure virtual stores, I almost do not need to have programming experience to be able to create the pages since it has a very intuitive user interface.

  ### 4. Your online store at the click of a button

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Prestashop allows us to create an online store in a simple way without having much knowledge of web development or design. It is available for free download and we can install it on our web server through a wizard. Once running, the visual aspect is user-friendly, making it easy to find the different options and functions it offers us. Management of items, categories, stocks, orders, invoices, shipping management, etc. It also has the possibility to notify us on our mobile when there are changes in our store or different alerts. We can expand functionality through modules, although practically all of them are paid.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

The basic use is simple, but if you want advanced functions, you must have various prior knowledge. It's not so much a disadvantage because this aspect can be considered normal. The modules offered are paid and, to be honest, quite expensive in most cases. Although different themes and visual customizations are allowed, you must have advanced knowledge of web design.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

If you are starting with an online business and your store is not very large, it is a very good option. It is free and you save an initial outlay. If you have some web knowledge, everything will be easy to manage. In combination with Wordpress, you can achieve a very good result.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you are thinking about starting an online business, it is a very good option. You won't have to invest practically any money in the website and you will be able to manage everything quite decently. The results of the stores are striking and quite professional.

  ### 11. Your online store in an effective way

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Prestashop becomes a serious option when we want to work with an online store. An installation assistant helps you in the first steps and once you have everything set up, you have access to a quite intuitive menu, where you have access to your items, categories, stocks, orders, invoices, customers...etc. The configuration and adjustments can be made without having very advanced knowledge and the day-to-day use is designed for people of any level. It allows you to expand functions through modules and you don't need a very advanced web server, although it depends on the number of visits you expect.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Although Prestashop is free, the modules generally are not. The problem is that they are excessively priced in many cases. This means that the main advantage of Prestashop, which is its price (free), may not turn out to be so if you need to use several additional modules. Another disadvantage, although it may be obvious, is that if you need to make drastic changes in design or functionality, you will need advanced programming knowledge.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

If initially you don't want to invest a lot of money in your online business and you have some knowledge of design or web programming, it's perfect, as you can set up a store in just a few minutes.

If, on the other hand, you need something more specific or you don't have the knowledge, you will need the help of a professional with the associated cost, and you will probably lose its main advantage, the free price it has.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For an online store that is not very demanding, it is perfect and free, which makes it a very good option for a company that is just starting out. It makes the work easier without requiring much knowledge of the subject.

  ### 12. A good online store manager

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

PrestaShop allows us to launch an online store without having much knowledge of development or design. Just install it on our web server with its installation wizard. Once operational, we are faced with a simple and intuitive interface, where we find all the sections to manage our store. We have the possibility to install additional plugins and themes, and all for free in many cases.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

It has security flaws and many of the add-ons we can get are paid and expensive most of the time. Although the basic options do not require much knowledge, modifying any section to our liking means having to have advanced knowledge of PHP and programming.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

If you are thinking of setting up an online store on your own, I think it's the best option and I recommend it. If you have at least basic knowledge of web development, you can achieve a good result. The fact that it's free certainly invites you to try it.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You save a lot of time and especially money when you want to start an online business. Managing orders, invoices, and customers is simple and everything can be organized efficiently.

  ### 13. Create an online store in minutes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mario A. | Diseñador, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

It is an excellent ecommerce platform, intuitive and very comprehensive. It allows you to set up your online store in a matter of minutes. It has a large community that helps you resolve almost any question. A multitude of modules and applications are developed to complement the basic routines. It has a multi-store mode that makes it even more interesting.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

The latest versions have issues when creating categories automatically. Some translations are too cryptic and become complex. SEO without touching the code can be significantly improved.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

It is an excellent

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Essential when creating online stores for all our clients with all the power and requirements that an ecommerce must have today.

  ### 14. Get your online store up and running in a few minutes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

PrestaShop offers us an easy way to set up an online store without much knowledge. If you have a web server, the installation is easy through a wizard that guides you at all times. The control panel is intuitive and allows you to manage the aspects of a store (product management, promotions, categories, orders, billing, etc.). All in a free way, since its installation is open.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Almost all the modules are paid, and not exactly cheap. Although their basic use is simple, if you want to make custom changes or go beyond the default options, you already need advanced knowledge. Some bugs need improvement, as well as security.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Right now I think it's the best option if you're thinking about setting up an online store. It's free and has a great community behind it. If you need additional modules, think carefully, because they are very expensive and in some cases not of very high quality.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before, setting up an online store was costly and required a lot of development time. With PrestaShop, that has ended. You can set up and manage a store in a much easier and more direct way with hundreds of configurations that allow it to be adapted to different businesses.

  ### 15. PrestaShop. A great CMS

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alicia M. | Alicia, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Prestashop is an online content management system (CMS). It facilitates everything related to setting up a website that serves to sell and buy online and earn good income. They work with templates to create the design or appearance of our store. Generally, they are paid, although we can also find some free ones. This makes it possible to launch an online store without knowledge of HTML or CSS code development. What I like most about Prestashop is: It is OpenSource, you can modify its code whenever and however you need. Easy and quick installation through a web interface. You can find many tutorials in Spanish online. Prestashop is quite secure, receiving far fewer attacks than WordPress or Joomla. There is a multistore option, to manage several stores from a single administrator. It allows for very good SEO. Intuitive and simple control panel.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Among the less attractive aspects of Prestashop, I will mention that:
- The learning curve of the CMS is more difficult than WordPress.
- You need to hire a PHP-MySQL Hosting service, and this is indeed paid.
- There aren't as many templates as in WordPress.
- There are many attractive modules, but they are also paid.
- You need to dedicate a lot of time to have a productive online store.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

If you want to start in the world of online stores and you don't have knowledge of HTML5 or CSS3 development, PrestaShop should be a CMS to seriously consider.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is used as an educational tool to introduce our students in web design training courses to a good content manager, just as we also use WordPress. Basic notions are given so that students can start a project.

  ### 16. The best manager for online stores

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Simple installation and highly optimized use make Prestashop your best option if you want to set up an online store. It is free and has an installation wizard that makes everything easier. Then we find a very intuitive panel, where we can fully manage our store (items, images, categories, orders, etc.) and also the website by adding new modules that expand or improve the website's functionality. All this without needing much design knowledge and suitable for almost anyone with minimal management knowledge.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Most of the modules are paid. It's understandable because not everything can be free, but compared to other CMS, Prestashop has very expensive modules. Security could be improved, although it's not bad. There are problems with certain banks in the payment gateways, although this is not directly Prestashop's fault, but rather the fault of the modules that manage it.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Highly recommended, you won't find anything better if you want to set up an online store. It works for something basic and simple as well as for something more advanced if you have more knowledge. Very professional results and quite secure in general, although it can be improved like everything. Essential for those who work in the sector.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been a great breakthrough and a great advantage to have something like Prestashop. You practically have an online store set up in a few minutes and without much knowledge. It has some rivals like VirtueMart, but from my point of view, it is superior.

  ### 17. The best CMS for online stores

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

PrestaShop has various advantages. The first thing we find is its price, it is completely free. The installation system on our web server is guided and simple. It has a large community behind it and allows us to build an online store without excessive knowledge of programming or web design. A multitude of plugins or modules at our disposal.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Almost all additional content is paid, and not exactly cheap. Security issues make it vulnerable to attacks. Certain tasks become a bit cumbersome to execute or carry out.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

I recommend it without a doubt. There are other options like Virtuemart or modules for WordPress, but they don't achieve all the content and options that PrestaShop offers us. If you work with an online store, it is your best option.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have improved in everything. Creating an online store could take you months of development, and with PrestaShop, you can do it in no time. Of course, to give it a professional touch, you need to spend time. Once it's running, it has a multitude of options and helps in the control of items, stocks, inventory, etc.

  ### 18. Prestashop does not support our ecommerce

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

In the year 2010, our ecommerce site was implemented in Prestashop and today it is a resounding failure.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

It is not scalable over time, and the support is extremely high, and the solutions are also expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

This software is recommended only if it's going to be an informational website, but for e-commerce, it's a disaster.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the time, everything was going wonderfully, but it could only last 2 years; from there, too much hardware to maintain this software.

  ### 19. Create amazing stores with all the necessary features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

It has absolutely everything you need for creating your online business. Product management, customers, orders, returns, etc... Additionally, it offers the possibility to create friendly URLs with a single click and has sections to help with SEO from the control panel.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Almost all the interesting modules are paid.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to Prestashop, creating e-commerce sites is really simple. We have covered 80% of the production intended for e-commerce with a single application.

  ### 20. With Prestashop, start your adventure in e-commerce. Do you have a good idea? So you have no excuses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro M. | Diretor comercial, Building Materials, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2018

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

It is a very easy to install, free e-commerce platform that has the necessary tools for a sales management.
It is configurable, and with a reduced custom, we can customize to our needs.
We just need a business idea.
Very simple, and within reach of anyone.
For a company, the best is not possible, for a first approach to web commerce.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Being a generic tool, which is made to think of all, when you need to adjust to your reality, then you have to resort to extras.
Sometimes it's confusing to know which module does what we need.
We have to look in a lot of similar options and not being experts we can get a little lost.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Prestashop solves the need for software for a web store.
It is within the reach of any person or company to have a web business.
Or simply scan your business, which these days is indispensable.
Do you want cheap software? Simple ? easy to use?
So what you are looking for is Prestashop.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a solution for our business, to make it available online .
The companies we consulted asked for values that were unbearable for us.
Then they told us about Prestashop. We did a rehearsal and we were excited.
Integral management in online business. Stocks, promotion, logistics, payments.
All very simple and cheap.

  ### 21. Good but it lacks free features

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando O. | Bombillas led, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2018

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Complete CMS with everything necessary to create an online store. A well-designed and programmed PHP base with Symfony for module development. The backend is very complete and well-organized. Undoubtedly one of the best CMS for e-commerce. It meets most of the needs of an online store.
The creation of discount coupons. Complete order management from creation to shipping and invoice creation. The shipping section is very comprehensive and can generate all types of shipments, taking into account the weight of the products to be shipped (if the catalog has been created beforehand).

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

The modules are expensive, and it doesn't have all the essentials. Its integration into the code also makes it complicated to make modifications. Although it is very comprehensive, it lacks some important things. For example, you cannot create negative invoices when a customer returns their product, something that happens often in e-commerce. Lastly, one of the worst points is the creation of the catalog. Although the form is very complete and well-structured, it becomes very tedious, forcing you to look for third-party paid solutions to speed up this process.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

For websites with a large catalog.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Set up an online store for our business and third-party businesses. We have set up several online sales websites that have been functioning perfectly for several years. It would be in between Wordpress and Magento. For intermediate catalog solutions.

  ### 22. The most powerful e-commerce platform that I know

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2018

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

The best part, aside from being free, is that it is a platform that covers all aspects of an e-commerce business, such as product management, shipping, discounts, returns, etc. Then, through plugins, which are numerous and also free, you can enhance your online store by adding modules for analytics, SEO, interface improvements like carousels, etc. It is also worth noting that year after year, the product evolves and updates, as do the templates, which do not become outdated, all thanks to the efforts of the web community.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Although it is improving a lot, it is true that when you want to make some modification on the website, it takes time to know if the modification is in the template, in the module, in the translations, etc. It is quite costly to modify something since everything is very packaged, but it is also true that when you dedicate a little time to it, there is not much difficulty afterwards.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

First, the price, it's free, then the customization capability, there is a very large community of developers creating plugins and templates, some paid and others not.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you have a limited budget and your aspirations are to have a small or medium-sized business, you should consider using PrestaShop as an e-commerce platform. If you look at examples, you will see how far it can take you.

  ### 23. E-commerse? Use Prestashop!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francisco P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2018

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

I started to use and adjust Prestashop not knowing anything about the platform. Saying that I built a complete online shop with it would be the best illustration of how user-friendly it. (well, to be honest my experienced colleague was there to support me as well). TPV adjustment for a newcomer would be the most difficult part, but for an experienced user it is easy. I also liked the part of being able to form payment bills for the clients directly in the platform. You are also able to choose a transportation company to deliver your goods according to the timing and prices that you need or even offer several transportation companies for your buyer.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

We had some bugs with saving descriptions of the products (they were not saving), but finally turned out to be our mistake in the adjustments.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Selling product to a customer

  ### 24. An Honest Review After 3 Yrs+ Hands On

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James H. | Director & Founder, Retail, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2018

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Great looking themes, very customisable, no transaction fees, cheaper development than Magento.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

There are many bugs in the software and often you need to hire an expensive developer to solve the problem. The modules that you buy to do different things (eg: currency conversion, mailchimp sync, payment etc..) often conflict with each other, which causes bugs. When you try to solve a problem between modules, each developer blames the other party, leaving you in the middle without a solution. Unless you are a developer, you will need to hire one to do the most basic things. If you hire one from India, the hourly rate is not high, but be prepared that it will take many hours of development and related bug fixes to get what you want. Most addon modules will not work well "out of the box" and will require some hours of installation, and bug fixing to make them work. Sometimes they just won't work to your satisfaction at all, but you usually cannot get a refund - at best, you will get a "voucher" to use on other modules.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

If you are a medium to large business with some resources (ie: a dedicated IT person with experience of Prestashop and/or relevant programing languages), then Prestashop has some advantages. Mainly that it is very customisable. It also has many great looking theme templates to choose from. As a self-hosted solution, it also has some advantages for SEO over hosted solutions like Shopify and Bigcommerce.

However, if you are a small to medium business that wants the flexibility to quickly, easily and cheaply administer a website yourself or with a non-technical in-house team, Prestashop is definitely not for you. It will take you many hours, and considerable $, to get a solution that you are never quite happy with. The countless hours of bug fixes is time you could better spend on driving traffic and sales on your site.

Even if you are a larger business with IT resources, I would not recommend Prestashop. Instead you should choose Magento which has all the benefits of Prestashop (SEO, customisability etc..), but with on a more stable platform.

If you are a small to medium business, you should choose Shopify, which is extremely easy to use, stable, and just works. And trust me, using Shopify is a delight after years if problems and "bandaid" solutions with Prestashop.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eCommerce platform that can be customised to your need (after considerable development work).

  ### 25. My favourite option for ecommerce when you have a medium or big stock

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

I love Prestashop because allows to get a perfect shop oline in the internet, it is a complete ecommerce solution, not only manage a big amount of products but manage all aspects about the ecommerce such as discounts, pictures, orders, shippins, etc

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Well in previous versions it was difficult to manage a big amount of products, the import tools etc, but i think now have improve a lot this aspect of the application

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

If you want to deploy a ecommerce web, Prestashop is a free, open source and complete product that you must try

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a online shop and we look for the best ecommerce solution for us, later look at wordpress woocomerce, magento, etc, we chose prestashop

  ### 26. Good for small ecommerce

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mónica R. | E-Commerce Manager Store, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2018

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Prestashop has the advantage of being easy to install, economical, and very simple to use. It can be downloaded for free, installed on a server, and within minutes you can start uploading products to your ecommerce. It has modules for almost everything, some are paid, but they are not very expensive. You don't need to know much about programming to set up a store in Prestashop. Additionally, it has a large active community where you can get help with almost anything.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

It is very limited in what can be done without touching the code. To modify the structure of the page, one must know programming languages like HTML, CSS. To have broader options, one must pay for modules or program them oneself. Prestashop's own support has never worked for me, and I have always had to turn to the user community, in the Prestashop forums, to get help.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

If you have a small e-commerce, it is worth installing Prestashop. But I would recommend hiring a junior web programmer, or if you know a little HTML, you can do it yourself, and edit the template so that the page doesn't look so generic.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Prestashop, I was able to start selling in less than a week. What took me time was editing the default template, but a page that would take at least a month to program took only a few days. Additionally, I did it paying almost nothing.

  ### 27. Prestashop

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diego P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Prestashop is a good content management system (CSM) for many uses and levels. It's easy to install and learn the basics to get your website up and running. Its large community facilitates the search for modules and its installation is very simple. As it is based on php, it is also very convenient to manually modify and even format your own modules.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Sometimes it gives the impression of being a little rough when you are designing the visual section.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can do online stores with little knowledge.

With over 1 million sites built with this platform is a terrific possession to construct with.

The distinction from significant variations is remarkable, you need to thoroughly update on a test site, to not destroy your site. It is best done by an expert

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

It has some bug when managing the backend dashboard, but you can fix them easily by joining an online community and just searching a fix

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 30. Reliable e-commerce platform that's been around a while

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2018

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Has good amount of themes to work with with customization options. Simple and easy to use at first but can be complicated for less technical people. Has addons to help extend usage and benefits. Not expensive and can be a good option for experienced users and those starting out. Can import/export with modules. Has many quick options like currency and payment methods.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Not as much online support, tools and threads compared to other similar e-commerce software. Can be complicated to implement certain tools or find answers online.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Worth a try. Reliable and not expensive. You can probably move data to another services if Prestashop is not satisfactory. Moving can be hard to do with other standable e-commerce services.

  ### 31. Very complete and high-quality software.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2018

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

It is a software that has everything and more to set up your online store. Complete in product management, compatible with all possible payment methods on the market, perfect for generating discount or sale codes, and one of its strengths is that it is very easy to use for a non-specialized user.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Complete when making integrations such as bulk product uploads, price modifications, third-party integrations, etc...

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Easy setup and management and a multitude of free support forums.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

E-commerce. Set up an online store without being a specialist.

  ### 32. Straightforward setup, flexible and extendable but slow and difficult to support.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Warren M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2017

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Multi-lingual, multi-currency capabilities and relatively simple setup and management. You don't need extensive technical knowledge to get this working. There is a very large selection of 3rd party modules available but at very different price levels (be prepared to get what you pay for!)

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Version 1.6 was slow and not stable enough. Too many occasions where the database was corrupted, a module was installed which brought the site down or other issues that were very hard to track down. Also, the pool of Prestashop experts isn't huge. Although Prestashop is open source and free, be prepared to invest in quite a few modules to extend functionality and make life simpler. Payment processing, shipping, checkout, sliders and others.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

We have been working with V1.6 for a few years and it did its job but not without some grief. Issues with site speed, support and stability. It looks like some of these issues have been resolved in V1.7 which looks good but not sure we'll be sticking with them to find out! You are going to need to purchase a number of 3rd party modules but be sure to shop around and don't go for the free or cheap ones (you get what you pay for). You will also be wise to have some technical support on hand and make sure to get a 3rd party backup module so that you can always roll back to previous versions if you run into problems.

In addition, make sure you have a good server, a cache implemented and a Content Data Network.. you'll need all this to get response times down.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to setup a store quickly and easily on our own virtual server and have been running it for nearly 2 years. Overall a great ROI.

  ### 33. Excellent sales panel

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

I recommend this panel in full way is super special for marketing and sales

  ### 34. A flexible and reliable platform to introduce your shop to the world

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gediminas B. | Customer Success Agent, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2017

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

My most favorite thing is that PrestaShop is exclusively designed for e-shop creation, thus the platform has all the features that one could wish for. It's also quite easy to get around and use the software regardless if you are a beginner or advanced developer. It also has pretty great and in-depth documentation, allowing you to quickly learn the platform and make the most of it. The community of PrestaShop is also very large, therefore you may look for a lot of solutions and other information online.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Depending on the size of your website, PrestaShop can sometimes run quite slow. Also, most plug-ins and extensions are paid, meaning that you might need to invest some money if you have no idea how to develop a certain feature for your website.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

The software itself is free, so make sure to give it a try!

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to create a shop-type website very easily. One other thing is that it allows you to spend more time on the actual content, as there are not much coding that you will need to do to create a basic store.

  ### 36. Useful for online business

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2017

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

My ecommerce shop is run entirely using PrestaShop. What I like best about it would probably be the fact that it's free, but not necessarily limited. It has tons of features to make your shop run smoothly. You can customize everything according to the country you're in and sell to. Once you get the hang of it, it's quite easy to use.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

While PrestaShop is huge, it is not as huge/famous as Wordpress or Shopify. Therefore it has limited plugins or modules as well. The better modules are for up for sale and they can get really expensive. Also, if you like to customize, you have to be quite knowledgeable with coding as it can get technical.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Don't hesitate! If you're looking to build an ecommerce shop with the complete package, without spending too much, it's PrestaShop all the way.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PrestaShop offers multi-stores and I found that helpful especially when you have different settings for different countries you sell to.

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2018

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Prestashop offers great customizability, with a lot of beautiful themes. It offers great SEO Tools out of the box. It can easily be extended with modules.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Version 1.6 is only getting supported until end of 2018, but a lot of modules and themes still need to be upgraded for Version 1.7. This makes it hard to upgrade to 1.7.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Use the demo shop, check whether it offers all you need. If not, search for the needed modules in advance.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Prestashop for our Onlineshop.

  ### 39. An open source shopping cart

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

prestashop thanks to its community is a truly complete and updated ecommerce platform

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

it could be better for those who dream of a really free platform given the presence of very important modules for a fee

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In Prestashop you can manage your web warehouse and marketplaces, from a single tool

  ### 41. Prestashop: A fully featured E-Commerce solution and it's FREE!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maurizio A. | CEO, Program Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2017

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

From a final user point of view I think that the most attractive thing about Prestashop is that it can be deployed quickly and you can start customizing and uploading products, you can really wake up not having a store and go to bed with a couple of sells made.
Prestashop offers a fully featured product for entrepreneurs or stablished brick-and-mortar businesses alike, someone whos starts to use Prestashop will not realize all the features it offers because they are many and you don't really pay attention to statistics or cross sells when you start but they are available when you want to use them and you don't have to pay an upgrade for that, unlike other ecommerce solutions.
From a developer point of view, Prestashop offers a quick solution for customers who want a scalable complete solution and they don't want to wait for it, so you can deploy and then develop on it while products are uploaded and people are trained.
Even when every successful online store comes to a moment of its life when it needs a bigger hosting (VPS, dedicated, Cloud instance), Prestashop runs on less resources than woocommerce and has a nice cache module, so the transition can wait until you get ROI enough to move on, if that is still not enough for the large number of users, you can always depend on cloudflare to stay productive.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

The learning curve for producing your own themes and modules might be an issue when you start working with it, but it pays off.
The addons marketplace is really expensive and conditions are unattractive to developers and clients alike, so as a developer, you might want to find an alternative for selling your modules and themes.
Prestashop recently made a long expected move and jumped to v1.7, these changes made some previous versions' modules ans themes useless, so if you're thinking about using it or developing for it, you should take versions and compatibility into account.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Think about the Prestashop version you want to take on, as a developer you may have a blue ocean in front of you, as an user maybe not so much.
Other than that, if your concerns are just going online, Prestashop is the right solution to do it, quick and easy to set up, complete online merchant features, most payment gateways have one-click-to-install modules so you can easily get paid by Paypal, Skrill or any other payment company you like and there are thousands of tutorials online where you can find how to do what you want to do.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a final user, Prestashop handles orders, customer registration, mail alerts, payments, product catalogue, stock (including advanced stock management), shipping, discounts, languages, currencies, social media plugins and you can easily add chat and other free modules, so it takes care of everything and lets you know when you are needed.

As a developer / agency, we have found a quick way of deploying default versions of Prestashop stores with adaptations to each country by the use of scripts, so our clients can be online in one day and start working on their shops while we develop / install themes and modules.

  ### 45. Great Overall Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthieu D. | Fondateur, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2015

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Things are ready to work with Prestashop. From nothing to good shop you can, without lot of understanding of the web, make a great shop.
Indeed things where too developpers oriented in the past, but now we can clearly see how Prestashop managed to make an easy to understand ecosystem.
I really appreciate the evolution of the solution and the new kind of great products available on Prestashop Marketplace.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

Nothing particular, maybe too complicated to develop at first sight, but with experience and time it's a good software.
Maybe lack of some important features (because it's available on the Marketplace) make it not so free as it seems.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Before using Magento, WooCommerce or Shopify, take a short look at Prestashop. It does what most of business needs to do, simply, without curious back office orientation, considering their user like grown up and intelligent people with full features you will need.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work as a certificated agency and shop maker on Prestashop, I managed an international shop with it, I can assure things just work as it as to be.
Prestashop is simpler and more reliable, for me, than most of its competitors.

  ### 46. Extremely feature redundand, but has very little documentation and shares bad design with joomla!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Konstantinos T. | Programmer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2015

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

I liked the command line feature for installation. Very handy. The admin interface is well organized and gives a lot of flexibility. Has very good security features. Also a lot of flexibility there. Also i liked the api a lot...

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

The admin interface is a bit too bright and this is bad for readability. The platform documentation is small and not very friendly. In the development you need to have a lot in mind, because of the complicated mvc implementation prestashop uses. And the database schema is a bit huge. And the tables not well named after all.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Give feedback to the community. There isn't much to read about this, and is just too painfull if you have face a problem.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a professional software engineer, not exacly developer. I first design things and put the in front of a team and then coding if necessary. The prestashop, provides business with a quick well featured solution. We use a lot of vps as infrastructure for our clients and it works beautifuly almost every time providing a very quick install and managment. It gives a lot of value in low and medium badget cases.

  ### 47. Prestashop is one of the greatest open source ecommerce software in the market today

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo B. | Creative Director, Broadcast Media, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2015

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Prestashop offers you the opportunity to both run it's software in some Clound server of your choice or Natively in your server. I ran Prestashop Natively in my own per-costumed OS X Client Server. However Prestashop can also be ran on Microsoft Windows and your many flavors of Linux. Prestashop is open source and free. It has a great interface easy to manage and the developers are constantly making it better. Prestashop also offers a free design interface for you to get started in your online business venture.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

I wouldn't say I dislike anything on Prestashop. However, Prestashop is not for the beginner if you are going to run it natively. If you are going to run it natively, you need to understand the basics of MySQL, PHP and Apache. In addition, you will need to know BIND and SSL. I ran Prestashop in two servers. One is for Backup and testing, the other one is the production server. You will need to learn how to backup both the shop and your MySQL data base. I advise beginners to use Bitnami Development to start your shop in the cloud. It is the easiest way to run Prestashop. In the Cloud, Everything is pretty much setup for you and you just have to learn how to manage your store and backup it regularly.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am one of the translators for English to Portugues (Brazil) for Prestashop. Since I disliked the new developments of the OS X, I am still running all my applications on OSX Maverick and as a Developer, I keep up with all the necessary updates for the system. For MySQL, I still using the Oracle Server. For Apache and PHP, I use Bitnami OSX-Manager from the Mamp Stack. I could use both the Bitnami MySQL, PHP and Apache from Bitnami but some issues needs to be resolved before I do that. My next project with Bitnami will be to resolve the issue of starting their application "automatically" after a electrical power failure. This is one of the hairy issues to be resolved because if the electrical power goes, the computer will start automatically but someone need to be present to start the Bitnami application and that is for me a handicap issue.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ettore S. | Owner, Wine and Spirits, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2016

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Easy to set up. You could go online in just a half day.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

You must pay for simple add-ons. The templates are often the same and expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Try Prestashop before other software.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was selling my products online in less than half a day. Benefits with little effort.

  ### 49. Not that good, but it works.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lukas S. | CTO, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2015

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

You can easily get started, installing the software doesn't take long and you can start adding content very quickly.
The module ecosystem is quite big and there a lot of plugins that "just work", allowing you to easily add payment providers, changing the flow of the checkout procedure, adding custom banners, allowing you to track your customers with Google Analytics, and a lot more.

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

I kinda dislike that there isn't really any easy way to test changes without interrupting a production system.

You'd normally have to make a copy of the system, change some settings in the database, modify config and a lot more to get a similar system running, then testing out those changes on there and applying them to your production system afterwards if you liked them.
We build a system for our needs that does a lot of stuff automatically, but we still find some stuff that we have to basically do manually after deploying to production.

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

If you want to change some things about how PrestaShop looks or behaves I'd recommend trying to keep everything as stock if possible, using override classes and modules to achieve what you want.
Sometimes this isn't possible and it's quite a bit of pain to keep PrestaShop up to date with those changes in place, so i'd recommend to use the git repository as base for your setup, allowing you to easily pull in updates, without having to reinject your changes after every update.

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using PrestaShop as a self-hosted shop system, and as said above thanks to it's module ecosystem it makes it quite flexible, giving us a ton of options.

**What do you like best about PrestaShop?**

Large 3rd party integrations choices....

**What do you dislike about PrestaShop?**

The Back Office's grouped organization..

**Recommendations to others considering PrestaShop:**

Just do it! WIth such a large selection of 3rd party service integrations, schema markup, html5 driven, there is only one choice.... PrestaShop! If you write your product descriptions well, you will begin to see rich product snippets. It's awesome!

**What problems is PrestaShop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting out and head of SERP listings requires structured data in the code format. PrestaShop is the only shopping cart that comes close to fulfilling that need. It still requires a skilled technical writer to optimize product content before rich snippets are awarded. The results do increase click-through rates. Your shopping cart is mobile responsive, clean and well written.
