Prefect doesn't force us into using a specific platform, but rather it integrates quite nicely with our existing codebases and doesn't force us to migrate/buy-in to some isolated/opaque service. What do you dislike about Prefect? - Doesn't have good integration with data governance tools (unlike Airflow) - No way to deploy/bundle pip requirements with flows unless using Docker images - (Non-paid) support via Slack is so-so. Prefect was the perfect orchestration tool to migrate when our airflow environment failed to be scalable and manageable. Prefect provided the flexibility to choose code storage, runners and executors. The cherry on top was the ability to handle multi-tenancy, which simplified the workflows and reduced the development time. Prefect coupled with kubernetes provided the ability to scale without any reliability issues. For example - One of the workflow on airflow used to take 3 to 4 days to complete ( one year backfill ), but with Prefect we could execute the same workflow in 20 minutes. Prefect has significantly reduced the operational expense of maintaining the orchestration environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Prefect? Prefect 1.0 lacked some needed features, but Prefect 2.0 has coved that requirement. So we haven't found any significant downside to using Prefect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
