Unlike its competition, it provides deep database optimization, end-to-end transaction view, isolation of problems and causes, scalable deployment, what-if analysis for changes, and history, trending, and planning. ## Precise Reviews ### 1. Idera SQL Products for the WIN! **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Kris G. | Senior System Analyst / Project Manager, Financial Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2018 **What do you like best about Precise?** Currently utilizing SQL Doctor, SQL Defrag Manager, and SQL Diagnostic Manager and have ZERO complaints in regards to all three products. These solutions work seamlessly to provide complete overhead analysis and diagnosis of SQL performance issues to include index fragmentation, missing indexes, queries requiring optimization and server hardware issues just to name a few. **What do you dislike about Precise?** There is honestly nothing that I dislike at the moment. I have had no issues with installation, configuration or use since day one. **What problems is Precise solving and how is that benefiting you?** Idera first pointed me to around 90 different indexes requiring rebuilds/reorgs in one of my production databases. Their solutions have also recommended query optimizations and SQL Server configuration changes that would best suit my environment. ### 2. SQL Compliance manager has been superb for our institution and has meant we can fully audit our SQL Server databases with ease. The company as a whole is very good with supporting their customers and the prices of their software is very reasonable in comparison with the competition. **What do you dislike about Precise?** We have had issues with licencing very recently with regards to ongoing maintenance and support. These have now been resolved but we have been left a little confused as to what has happened. I believe it may be down to when IDERA procured the Uptime product and our accounts have become merged for the two products. As a result we have missed out on the support and maintenance of SQL Compliance Manager. **Recommendations to others considering Precise:** Get a trial version first and then get in touch with them. The prices for their offerings are very reasonable and I believe they offer quality products of enterprise class level. **What problems is Precise solving and how is that benefiting you?** As IDERA offers a suite of tools they have a tool for everyone really. We wanted to be able to be compliant (for legal reasons) for all our SQL Server Database platforms and offer managers a way of keeping tabs on auditing activities which the compliance manager does very well with in built reporting to support this. We love Uptime and think this is a fabulous acquisition for IDERA and hope they continue to support and develop the product in the future. ### 3.
