The system is not user-friendly. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool Schoology Learning?** You should not have to click a button for a student to see the comment. There is no save button when entering grades and sometimes the Cursor jumps columns and deletes other grades and there is no way to undo it. Instead of having a fill column there is some other ridiculous name for the column and there isn't an option to fill any column by filling only the empty cells. You also can't enter grades by using the arrow down in a column if there are missing or excused items in the column the cursor stops working. It is awful. Contact Parents, share pictures, upload and grade assignments and so much more can be done in Schoology. We do not have to use a different app for every task. I have really not found much that I cannot do. There are so many options for creating assignments and gathering resources for my students. The ability to embed resources really makes it a one stop hub for my students to access all that they need in the virtual media center. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool Schoology Learning?** I really haven't found anything to dislike. I do not appreciate the push notifications and all of the email notifications, but I turn them off and it is great. I am in the library so I am connected to many classes which causes an overload of messages. Again though, I turn it off and it works like a dream. **Recommendations to others considering PowerSchool Schoology Learning:** Using Office 365 products with Schoology is a dream. The students already know how to use Word, Powerpoint, etc, so it just creates that living document that we can collaborate on. By creating a template for them to build upon leaves room for their creativity, but eliminates the hassle of building everything from scratch. Even the youngest students can create powerpoint documents with pictures, fonts and save this great work for years to come in their office 365 account. You should definitely use an Office 365 or Google Classroom account with Schoology. Discussion boards are great for responses to more than just written questions. I love to post a video or read a passage for students to respond to. I love even more that they can respond using a video themselves. There are so many options to meet learners where they are at. They can be challenged, but stay in their social comfort zone. The ability to embed content for students to interact with is where I am going next. By creating an interactive Bitmojo classroom and embeding it in the announcements, you will have a one stop hub for the students to access all the library materials they need. Also, make sure you archive your courses and save in your resources. That way when you come back the next year, you don't have to recreate the wheel. It is already created. Just tweak what you need and there is so much less work at the start. **What problems is PowerSchool Schoology Learning solving and how is that benefiting you?** As the librarian I have created a course which works as the library online for my school. All the students know how to get there and can access what they need. It was a lifesaver when we had to go digital due to COVID. The structure of Schoology LMS is very intuitive. Students and teachers can easily locate resources within folders and on pages. Content can be embedded in and attached to pages for students to have easy access to visuals and directions. Discussions and Assignments allow teachers to not only add text but embed images and attach documents as well. Media albums enable students to easily upload images and videos and provide feedback to each other on items submitted. Tables on pages are difficult to resize. It is sometimes difficult to center items on a page (the centering doesn't always hold). We were once able to embed YouTube videos on pages instead of linking to them, but district settings now limit us from doing this. Schoology has been contacted, and the issue has not been resolved between the district and the lms yet. **Recommendations to others considering PowerSchool Schoology Learning:** We reviewed many LMSs and determined Schoology to be the most appropriate for our district. It offers a quality product for our teachers, students, staff, and leaders. **What problems is PowerSchool Schoology Learning solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are enterprise users of Schoology. We find it to be a one-stop shopping resource for our entire district. Students and teachers are staying organized through the use of courses and groups. Calendars and weekly lists of assignments help students to turn in work on time. Class content can be assessed and discussed 24/7 using Schoology Discussions. It offers multiple ways to assess students such as through the use of Schoology Asessments (quizzes/tests with multiple choices for question format), the ability to embed third party tools, and offering a variety of ways to differentiate and provide feedback to peers. This tool also enables all students to respond in their own way by using the text, video, or audio feature. We use Schoology to deliver professional learning as well. Much of our curriculum and resources are stored in Schoology groups, along with links to OneNote Notebooks that contain specific learning experiences. We house PLC notes and resources in groups as well. Weekly meeting notes and resources are housed in courses for district, campus, and job role groups. We are anxious to implement the elementary experience in Schoology to meet the needs of our younger learners and encourage teachers to solely use Schoology as their classroom resource for materials instead of using more primary-focused apps like SeeSaw. Some of the benefits we have encountered are simplicity of use, students gaining more technology skills through the use of this lms, consistency across classrooms, and the ability to house most resources in one place that is accessible 24/7. ### 28.
