Schoology is a friendly application that is very helpful to teachers especially since we are now gearing towards online learning. It is very helpful in the sense that it provides all the needed materials for the teachers. Very helpful to teachers since all materials are readily available on the website. In this time of having a pandemic and everything is going online, we should go or use an application where we can utilize every material. As an educator, it is very helpful for us like this application, where resources can be used and utilized in the learning process. Schoology has a simple and easy-to-use interface - it's easy to organize your classroom in a way that makes sense for the particular class you are teaching. It is very easy to create dynamic multi-media instructions in simple discussion forums or assignments - many of our faculty found the process of creating learning activities simple to use. Communication was a strong point - announcement features were well suited to daily reminders, update videos, quick polls, and other features that are of incredible value in the classroom. Teachers in this new normal must try to take into consideration those applications that would help us deliver lessons effectively and efficiently. It is not enough that we use online tools, we have to devise ways and be creative in the teaching-learning process. Schoology gives us the idea that everything can be prepared online and be a help to everyone. I think school organizations should consider using Schoology for the betterment of their school. So far having this application, I don't have anything to dislike. It is very useful since one of the struggles of the teachers is the deliverables. Schoology is very helpful. Schoology is great when you are managing individual courses, but for our fully online and blended programming, it lacked the back-end administrator capabilities to be scaling up well - the lack of a template/blueprint feature was really disappointing. Third-party Integrations were few and often did not work well. As a higher education institution, we saw very little responsiveness to our needs up against K-12. Although promises were made early on, they never came to fruition. Some faculty also felt the platform looked a bit 'juvenile' for higher ed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. I just need to browse it more. But so far so good. Very helpful in this current time. Schoology is a big help. Settings and due dates for assessments are in two completely different places when creating them. One is in a tab in the content area, the other is in the creation "gear" menu. If both are not set correctly, your assessment will not work. Switching from one course/group to another course/group takes several steps. Not always easy to find the course/group needed. Readily available materials that can be utilized. Materials are very helpful especially the majority of us are dealing with education nowadays through online platforms. It is deemed necessary for us educators to look for other tools that we think would help us deliver our lessons effectively. Schoology is not just an online platform, it is an LMS wherein tools, assessments, and materials are available for the usage of the teachers, students, as well as the organization you belong. Nowadays, since everything is going online, we need to maximize our research minds to look for resources that would really help up to improve as an educator in this kind of setup that we are having now. It is not enough for us to just teach, we need engaged everyone. Schoology will provide us the missing links that we are looking for us to be able to deliver lessons effectively. Schoology also helps educators to lessen our burden in terms of deliverables for the students. We know that paper works are one of the major problems of the teachers. Schoology helps every one of us to be guided on the principles of teaching. Schoology is very good platform that an organization might consider. It's fairly flexible, allowing teachers the option to grade by points or percentages. I like the way that Schoology can have a multi-level organization of files to promote student (and teacher) organization. The assessment portion of Schoology leaves much to be desired. While it can do a lot, it is also clunky to create and therefore I have honestly avoided it. I like that my students and their families can be linked to my Schoology account. I have one Google Slide presentation pinned to the top that is something I set up for "upcoming events" or "important dates." Most importantly, if there's virtual learning due to COVID, my classroom Zoom link is there. Finally, I like that I can have Google or Kami documents pushed out to individual students. It's difficult to upload folders, slides, and other media to my page. I feel like I only know how to do a few basic things with the platform. I prefer Clever (used currently by my school district) or Google Classroom (used in my college courses) to serve as a home base for a classroom. We've used Schoology at my place of work for a few years as a subject knowledge repository and communications platform for study abroad students. It is very user-friendly and customisable and the gamification options are really useful. Schoology also allowed us to streamline the information we gave to students across multiple locations. We had to transfer individual folders each semester. The updates should also be able to allow centering of images.
