We are able to capture updated information annually, which helps our district have more accurate/current information from families. Each family enters/updates their own data, which saves on typos. There is setup required each year for both new and returning student forms. The process takes some time, but it's worth it! The support team works closely with your district/SU during implementation each year. I would recommend you have a team of people in your district/SU to work through the changes each year. How easy it is for the parents to use. The information from one student can 'snap' to complete the next students form in the same family. Parents can enroll students from any time. Data entry is now done by the parents of our students instead of by us. They used to submit everything on paper, whereafter we entered the data into PowerSchool. The setup is a lot of work. The field names in PS Registration and PS Sis are not always the same, which makes data mapping for API more cumbersome that it needs to be. Granted, Registration used to be Infosnap, which was not tied to PowerSchool, but now that it is part of PowerSchool, I hope they will go to work on streamlining it. We are able to have our data ready for count day which comes 6 weeks into the school year. Previously our staff had to work overtime to try and get data entered for 2000 students accurately. Our staff prefer to have their time back with their family vs overtime in front of a computer. It has really helped us ensure all of our buildings are consistent.
