The software can render videos up to 4k. The rendering speed is awesome. It comes preloaded with many text animations, effects, and transitions. The best part is you can change and play with the settings of the preloaded effects and animations with ease. It's a lot easier to create simple motion graphics and typography compared to its competitors. The learning curve is simpler than most other software that has so many features. What do you dislike about PowerDirector? In the timeline, the uppermost layer comes as the background instead of the foreground. What I like the most is that it is very intuitive and easy-to-use software. You don't have to be an expert in video editing to use it, as all the tools are visible, and if not, they are very easy to locate. It has many transitions and effects that allow us to bring videos to life, we can divide the video into chapters if we wish, record voiceovers, add music, edit it, etc. When exporting our edited video, it gives us many options. What I like best and the reason I ended up going with Power Director is that it is a physical software I could purchase one time and load onto my computer- not a recurring subscription. It is a very cost-effective solution for basic photo and video editing. Though I have not reached out to the company directly for support, there are a lot of YouTube videos out there from others who can help teach you new ways to use the service. I like that it goes above and beyond what you can do on an app or whatnot and gets into some of the more knitty gritty features when those are wanted or needed. It's not the most intuitive editor I've ever used. I find myself having to youtube how to do some stuff, but I also don't have much experience in the field. Recommendations to others considering PowerDirector: I think this would be a good product for someone who has more experience and wants a more "manual" experience of editing. It is not for someone who wants a more "automatic" experience or for someone who is just looking for ease of use. I would recommend maybe starting out with a product that is a little more ready to go out of the box and that you have to spend less time working with to understand before jumping into PowerDirector. One of the things I use Power Director for is to blur sensitive information such as patients' identifying features or license plates out of our photos before we publish. In my field, we are exposed to a lot of sensitive information. While we want to help inform the public, we also want to help protect those who are potentially expereincing a trajedy. PowerDirector allows us to do that fiarly quickly and painlessly, with many options and feautures for a one-time fee. As a public safety agency, we don't have a lot of resources to pour into extra stuff such as this, but PowerDirector aleviated that concern by being a cost-effective solution. My favorite things about PowerDirector is how affordable it is and how often then update the software. Its really nice that the company is constantly providing new templates and graphics for the videos every month. We do a LOT of video editing so its really nice to have some variety. Being able to edit videos quickly is important to maximize efficiency within my business so its really great to just throw a video together on the fly and get it uploaded to YouTube in under an hour.
