"Postman Makes API Development, Testing, and Debugging Fast and Easy"

5/5

What do you like best about Postman?

What I like best about Postman is how easy it makes API development, testing, and debugging. It lets me organize API collections, manage environments, automate test cases, and quickly validate API responses, which saves a lot of development time and improves collaboration across the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Postman?

One limitation I've experienced with Postman is that managing large API collections and environments can become difficult as projects grow. When working with multiple AI services and backend APIs, collections can get cluttered, making navigation and maintenance more time-consuming. In addition, collaboration features like advanced governance, reporting, and workspace management are more useful in the paid plans, which can be limiting for smaller teams. Overall, these are minor drawbacks, and they don't outweigh the value Postman provides for API development and testing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?

Postman solves the challenge of validating and debugging APIs before they are integrated into our applications. In our AI-powered insurance document processing project, I use it to test APIs for document uploads, policy data extraction, authentication, and backend integrations. It allows me to quickly verify request and response data, identify issues early, and ensure APIs work correctly before deployment. This has reduced debugging time, improved API reliability, and accelerated the delivery of AI features, resulting in a more stable and efficient development process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, Powerful API Testing That Streamlines Our Workflow"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Postman?

Postman has been an excellent tool for API development and testing. Its intuitive interface makes it simple to create, organize, and test REST APIs, while also allowing me to quickly inspect requests and responses. Features such as collections, environments, authentication support, and automated testing have noticeably improved my development workflow. It helps me debug APIs more quickly, validate integrations with confidence, and collaborate smoothly with my team, making the overall API development process more efficient and productive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Postman?

Postman is a powerful API development tool, but there are still a few areas where it could improve. The desktop app can feel resource-intensive at times, especially when I’m working with large collections or juggling multiple workspaces. I’ve also found that some of the more advanced features are locked behind paid plans, which can be limiting for individual developers and small teams.

On top of that, syncing between workspaces and loading large collections can occasionally be slower than I expect. Better overall performance, a more streamlined interface for new users, and making more collaboration features available in the free tier would go a long way toward improving the experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?

Postman has helped solve many challenges in API development and testing by offering a single platform where we can create, test, and debug APIs efficiently. Before using Postman, validating endpoints and troubleshooting authentication or request-related issues took much more time and effort. With features such as collections, environments, automated tests, and detailed response inspection, we can spot problems faster, reduce development time, and make sure our APIs behave reliably before deployment. Overall, it has improved collaboration across the team, sped up integration testing, and boosted productivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Postman Streamlines API Testing with Collections, Environments, and Easy Sharing"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Postman?

Postman makes API testing very use. I use it to send requests, inspect responses, and quickly debug issues without having to write extra code. Saving collections and environments makes it easy to switch between different setups, and sharing them with teammates helps everyone stay on the same page. Overall, it saves a lot of time during development and makes testing APIs much more organized and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Postman?

The interface can feel a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many features and options. Sometimes the desktop app also feels a little slow when working with large collections or multiple environments, it lags a lot then which is very frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me test and validate APIs much faster during development, instead of writing custom scripts for every request. Sharing collections and environments with teammates also keeps everyone working with the same API configurations, which reduces confusion and speeds up collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, Script-Free REST API Testing with Powerful Automation"

5/5

What do you like best about Postman?

The biggest advantage of Postman is its intuitive interface and the ability to test REST APIs without writing custom scripts. Creating requests, managing environments, organizing collections, and automating API testing is straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Postman?

The biggest advantage of Postman is its intuitive interface and the ability to test REST APIs without writing custom scripts. Creating requests, managing environments, organizing collections, and automating API testing is straightforward.

Some of the features I find most valuable are:

Easy API request creation with support for all HTTP methods.

Environment variables and collections that make testing across development, staging, and production environments effortless.

Pre-request scripts and test scripts using JavaScript for automation.

Collection Runner for executing multiple API requests in sequence.

API documentation generation and easy sharing with team members.

Authentication support (Bearer Token, OAuth 2.0, API Keys, Basic Auth, JWT, etc.).

Import/export support for OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications.

Integration with CI/CD pipelines using Newman.

Excellent collaboration features for teams working on the same APIs.

The learning curve is minimal, and even junior developers can become productive quickly.

What do you dislike about Postman?

While Postman is an excellent product, there are a few areas that could be improved:

The desktop application can become memory-intensive when working with very large collections.

Syncing large workspaces occasionally feels slower than expected.

Some advanced collaboration and governance features are available only in higher-tier paid plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?

Postman has become an essential part of our API development workflow. It helps us:

Validate APIs before frontend integration.

Quickly identify request and response issues.

Automate regression testing for APIs.

Share standardized API collections with developers and QA teams.

Reduce manual testing time.

Improve collaboration between backend developers, frontend developers, and testers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Postman Makes API Testing Simple and Efficient with Collections & Environment Variables"

5/5

What do you like best about Postman?

Postman makes API testing very simple and efficient. I like how easy it is to create requests, test endpoints, manage collections, and share them with team members.

One feature I use frequently is Collections and Environment Variables. They help avoid entering the same values repeatedly and make testing across different environments much easier in my everyday work Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Postman?

Sometimes the application can become slow when working with very large collections or multiple environments. Managing a large number of requests can also become difficult if collections are not organized properly.

I have also noticed occasional sync delays when sharing collections across team members. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?

Postman simplifies API development and testing by allowing developers to send requests, validate responses, and troubleshoot issues without writing custom test scripts.

For example, while working on API changes, I used Postman to quickly verify request payloads, response codes, and edge cases before deploying changes. It was also helpful during bug fixes and production issue investigations, as I could easily test APIs and confirm whether authentication tokens, requests, and responses were working as expected. This helped identify issues faster and reduced overall testing effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Postman Makes API Testing Fast and Organized with Collections"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Postman?

I use Postman almost every time I'm working with backend APIs because it lets me test endpoints before connecting them to the frontend. I especially like collections and environment variables since they save me from repeatedly changing base URLs, tokens, and IDs while switching between local and deployed environments. The ability to inspect headers, payloads, status codes, and response times in one place makes debugging much faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Postman?

Once collections start growing, keeping requests organized takes some effort and the desktop app can become noticeably heavier during long sessions. I also wish more collaboration and monitoring features were available on the free plan since many individual developers and students rely on it for learning and personal projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?

Postman has become one of the first tools I open when building APIs. It helps me verify authentication flows, test request payloads, validate responses, and catch backend issues before they appear in the frontend application. Having everything stored in collections also makes regression testing much easier whenever an API changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The easiest way I've found to work with APIs"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Postman?

I use Postman pretty much every day, and the features I rely on the most are Environments and Variables. Being able to switch between development, staging, and production without editing every single request saves me from making a lot of silly mistakes, especially when I'm juggling multiple projects at the same time. I've also really liked how the API Collaboration features have evolved. Sharing collections, documentation, examples, and test cases with the rest of the team has replaced a bunch of separate documents we used to maintain. Everything lives in one place now, which makes life a lot easier. On top of that, the documentation around Postman itself is some of the best I've worked with. Performance has been solid too. Even with fairly large collections, I rarely run into stability issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Postman?

The only thing I'd point out is that some of the newer features, like Flows and a few of the more advanced collaboration tools, take a bit longer to get comfortable with. Postman has grown into a much bigger platform over the years, so learning the basics is easy, but getting the most out of everything it offers definitely takes some time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?

A big part of my work involves integrating third-party services or consuming APIs built by other teams. Before I write a single line of code, I usually spend some time exploring the endpoints, checking responses, testing edge cases, and understanding how the API behaves. Lately we've also been creating shared collections before development even starts. While one part of the team works on the backend, the frontend developers can already validate responses, test contracts, and build against the same collections. By the time everything comes together, we've usually caught most of the integration issues long before they reach production. That's probably the biggest reason I keep using Postman. It stopped being just a tool for testing APIs a long time ago. Now it's where the whole team stays aligned on how an API is supposed to work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Evaluating the Effectiveness of Postman in API Workflow Optimization"

5/5

What do you like best about Postman?

The interface makes it super easy to organize requests, manage APIs, and even automate tests with collections. Plus, the environment variables and scripting with pre-request or test scripts make it super powerful for both manual and automated workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Postman?

Especially when you have a lot of collections or workspaces open, sometimes the learning curve can be a bit steep if you're diving into things like tests or complex workflows for the first time. So, it’s powerful, but it can be a little heavy at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?

Postman really solves the problem of managing and testing APIs in a streamlined, centralized way. Instead of juggling different tools or writing manual cURL commands, I can quickly organize requests, automate testing, and even simulate different environments. That saves a ton of time and ensures I catch issues early, which is a huge benefit when building or integrating APIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"From Messy Curl Commands to Clean, Collaborative API Workflows"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Postman?

Postman has genuinely transformed the way our team handles API development, and I mean that in the most practical sense — not just as a buzzword.

UI/UX is where Postman first won me over. The interface feels intuitive without being dumbed down. I remember the first time I set up a request chain using pre-request scripts — something that sounds complicated — and it just clicked naturally. The sidebar organization, tabs, and the way collections are structured make navigating even large projects feel manageable.

Integrations have been a pleasant surprise. We plugged Postman into our CI/CD pipeline using Newman (Postman's CLI tool), and now our API tests run automatically on every deployment. It also connects smoothly with GitHub, Slack, and Jira, which means fewer context switches during the day.

Performance is decent for most tasks, though I'll be honest — the desktop app can feel a little slow to load when you have a lot of collections open. Once it's running, though, it's smooth.

Pricing/ROI is where it gets interesting. The free tier is surprisingly generous for individual developers. For teams, the paid plan does add up, but when I think about the hours saved on debugging, documentation, and onboarding — it pays for itself pretty quickly.

Support/Onboarding is solid. Their documentation is some of the best I've seen for a dev tool, and the learning center helped our junior developers get productive fast.

AI features are newer but promising — the AI-assisted test generation has already caught a few edge cases I would have missed writing tests manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Postman?

As much as I enjoy using Postman, there are a few pain points worth mentioning.

The biggest frustration has been the gradual move of features behind the paid plan. Features that used to be free — like certain collaboration tools and increased collection runs — are now restricted unless you upgrade. For solo developers or small teams on a tight budget, that stings a bit. It feels like the product is slowly being nudged toward enterprise customers.

The app performance is another gripe. On older machines or when you have multiple large collections open, Postman can get noticeably sluggish. For a tool I have open all day, startup times and occasional UI freezes are more annoying than they might seem on paper.

I've also noticed that the shift to a cloud-first model hasn't been entirely smooth. Being required to log in to access your own collections felt like a step backward for developers who prefer keeping things local for security or compliance reasons. It caused some friction in our team when it was first introduced.

Lastly, the learning curve for advanced features like writing test scripts, chaining requests, or setting up monitors can be steeper than expected for newer developers. The documentation helps, but some of these features could use better in-app guidance.

None of these are dealbreakers for me personally, but they're real enough that I'd want someone evaluating Postman to know about them going in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?

The core problem Postman solves for me is fragmentation — before using it, API work was spread across too many places. Curl commands in the terminal, endpoints scribbled in Notion, authentication tokens copy-pasted from Slack messages, and test results that existed only in my head. It was messy and hard to hand off to anyone else.

Postman brought all of that under one roof, and the benefits have been pretty concrete.

Faster debugging is the most immediate one. When an API response isn't what I expect, I can isolate the problem quickly — check headers, inspect the response body, compare it against a previous run — without jumping between tools. What used to take 20-30 minutes of back and forth now takes a few minutes at most.

Team collaboration has improved noticeably too. Sharing a Postman collection with a new backend developer means they have every endpoint, authentication setup, and environment variable ready to go from day one. We've cut onboarding time for API-related work significantly.

Automated testing through Newman in our pipeline has quietly caught several bugs before they ever reached production. That's not a small thing — each of those catches represents time saved and a potential incident avoided.

And honestly, an unexpected benefit has been better API documentation. Because everything is already organized in collections, generating documentation for internal use takes almost no extra effort.

Overall, Postman has made API work feel less like a chore and more like a structured, repeatable process — and that consistency has real value day to day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
