Postman is the world’s leading API platform, used by more than 40 million developers and 500,000 organizations to build, test, and manage APIs at scale. With Postman, teams collaborate efficiently across the entire API lifecycle, including design, development, testing, security, documentation, and governance. The platform helps ensure consistency, quality, and enterprise-grade control. Postman also offers Agent Mode (beta), built on AWS Bedrock and trained with AWS SageMaker. ## Postman Reviews
  ### 1. Great for API Testing, Navigation Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashutosh A. | Full Stack Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Postman?**

I use Postman for my daily API testing as a software engineer, and it helps set up environments to call and execute APIs before integrating with UI applications. I really like the simple UI because of its easy navigation. I also appreciate the ability to export and import API collections quickly, which makes my work faster and allows me to share a working model with testing teams without redoing the setup.

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

When working with huge API tabs open, the UI hangs up, and I have to close the app many times. Sometimes it's confusing with all the tabs open, and navigation is a bit poor. Also, the initial setup has a lot of signing pages, which can be irritating.

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Postman helps me set up environments to test APIs before UI integration, ensuring they work as expected. Its simple UI and quick API export-import features save time by easily sharing API models with testing teams, avoiding redundant work.

  ### 2. Industry Standard with Great Sharing and Plenty of Tutorials

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prince B. | Data analyst, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Postman?**

Postman is basically the industry standard, so the best part is just how familiar the UI is for everyone on the team. It makes onboarding new devs way easier because there’s zero learning curve for the basics. The collection sharing and environment variables are huge for our workflow since they keep everything organized and stop us from mixing up staging and production keys. It’s just a reliable tool for quick debugging and seeing exactly what the backend is doing without any guesswork. I’ve also messed around with the new AI features like Postbot a bit. It’s actually pretty decent for quickly generating test scripts and boilerplate code that usually takes forever to type out manually. It’s not perfect, but it definitely helps speed up the boring parts of setting up new collections.

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

It has become incredibly bloated over the last couple of years. It takes forever to load, and it eats up way too much RAM just to send a few simple requests. It feels like it's trying to do too many things at once now, which just makes the whole experience feel sluggish and cluttered.

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main thing it solves is the headache of manual API testing and keeping everyone on the same page. Instead of having devs pass around cURL commands or outdated documentation, we just share a collection. The ROI is mostly seen in time saved during the debugging phase; we catch errors way faster now. Even though we use the free or lower tiers, the value is definitely there because it integrates so well with the rest of our stack, making the whole development lifecycle feel a lot less fragmented.

  ### 3. Senior Software Engineer

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Postman?**

Easy to use, easy to manage collections and easy to itrate thousands of calls

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

Not working proper in VDI, lagging issues

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing purposes only

  ### 4. It does most of the things right.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Postman?**

Simplicity of use is the best USP of the product

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

Collaboration across a small team is not very straight forward if we are on a free plan

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing out APIs

  ### 5. Pretty good API tester

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aniruddha G. | Full-stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Postman?**

I like the simple interface and the ability to sync things

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

The fact that it cannot save things locally without a postman account. The push to create an account is quite annoying these days. I recall this was not the case a couple years back. You could have workspaces and projects saved locally. If you really need to share and sync then Postman is a good tool. Otherwise pick something else. There are plenty of alternatives.

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly use it for API testing and management.

  ### 6. User friendly tool to use API for freshers/experienced persons

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kranthi K. | QA Test Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Postman?**

Options in tools are very understandable and easy to find.

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

Automating the APIs are difficult as iam comparing with jmeter.

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Individual APIs we can execute very easily and easy to change the payloads and auto adjust the payloads.

  ### 7. Postman is a great tool for tracking data from API but not as good as Insomnia

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maya R. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Postman?**

I like how simple the UI is. It is very easy to set up an API call and it guides you through the possible fields that are in an API call. I like how it saves your past requests in the top bar like an internet browser does, allowing you to go back to requests you've made if you need to send them again. I think it is overall quite user friendly and does not take long to load up when I start the application.

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

It does not seem as versatile as Insomnia, which I prefer to use for testing API calls and data. Insomnia makes it easy to switch between environments, and lines up all of your API calls in a left hand pane, making it easy to switch between them since you can see their names. The top bar on Postman does get somewhat crowded if you have many requests saved. I also think it would be nice to see more color coding because it makes it easier to spot variables, inputs, input values. Perhaps a demo of how to use Postman would be useful to see when first downloaded.

**Recommendations to others considering Postman:**

Good for using if you care about past requests and log of when you did those API calls. Not as helpful for autocompleting requests

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been testing out simple API calls that require authentication, different kinds of inputs to several different APIs. I usually use Insomnia but work with a team that uses Postman so have been using it to understand how they do their API calls. One thing that Postman does better though is they save a history of calls on the left hand bar which is helpful if you want to refer to a date you were working on something in particular. I have used this several times and it is good to refer to these logs in case the structure of data in the API changes and you would like to see the progression of data organization.

  ### 8. POstman Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arun C. | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Postman?**

Simple and intuitive UI where in I can test all kinds of REST APIs easily. That's what I like the most.

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

Although with the latest update we can use postman to call SOAP APIs. But I have felt that this area needs more development as it is very difficult to call SOAP APIs from Postman. Maybe a similar kind of functionalities of SOAP UI in postman would be good.

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing APIs while developing is a very important aspect of development. With postman, we can test the APIs seamlessly. Also, the UI developers can use postman to get an idea of the API request and response structure before the integration of APIs with the UI.

  ### 9. Feedback on Postman

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Postman?**

Easy way to test my web API services as well as external endpoints. Easy to configure and save such configurations for the future purposes.

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

Enterprise version is not cheap. Need more tips for UI as well. Need better tools for monitoring HTTP requests.

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basically I use it during developing my own product web services, but also I use it to test third-party API endpoints before integrating them fully to understand how it would better to create HTTP requests.

  ### 10. Rest Utility 101

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniela P. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Postman?**

Many resources and tools greatly facilitate working with Maven and the Spring Framework. As a developer testing my API before deploying or integrating it, I realize if my code is secure and functioning as expected, allowing me to test in different environments while securely storing environment-specific variables, so I don't need to re-enter any information or have many tabs open to test the same thing. I like how Postman allows us to test APIs collaboratively.

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

I have no criticism of the product Navigating through the app can be a bit difficult for beginner users I have no criticism of the product

**Recommendations to others considering Postman:**

Postman is a great API development tool. Postman is very useful in API testing. There's much more to it than that.

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Also used for developing APIs for MongoDB databases. Also used for developing APIs for MongoDB databases. I have been testing APIs for backend and frontend side.

  ### 11. Postman for REST

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Postman?**

I like to work with postman as it has been receiving updates to improve the look and usage. Display of icons is appealing and easy to use

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

I would not dislike anything other than the steps for usage which is not listed in any part of the postman help area(I might be wrong too - I have not got a chance to see a user guide.)

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using it for testing the api calls of the web

  ### 12. Newbie- still learning how to use it

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave E. | Database Analyst II, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Postman?**

As a software package, it seems well laid out and responsive. It is also well documented.

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

For me, the learning curve. I'm trying to learn to use API with a database and it is just very new to me.

**Recommendations to others considering Postman:**

It would probably be best to have a solid understanding of JSON and and API in general before using it.

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fetching data about the configuration of my database, and updating configuration settings.

  ### 13. Postman have nice interface

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** daniel l. | Python Dev, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Postman?**

It have nice interface and can organize the API requests

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

Sometime things would work in postman but it wouldn't work in the real code

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

API testing

  ### 14. Simple but could still improve

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2017

**What do you like best about Postman?**

Easy to use and friendly UI. Can save collections and import/export them. Good for beginners as well as advanced users. Good for test runs as well.

**What do you dislike about Postman?**

I usually have trouble deleting items inside a collection. They keep appearing again. Even though syncing is on, when I use it on my laptop v/s computer it just overrides and brings everything back. That can be improved or fixed.

**What problems is Postman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

API testing and sharing collection across team members.
