I find connecting PostHog with Snowflake to be problematic. Despite multiple attempts, the warehouse connection often fails due to errors. The errors I encounter lack clear explanations, making troubleshooting difficult. Even after successfully establishing a connection, the import process fails repeatedly, which is frustrating. There are one or two pieces of ambiguous/poorly documented behaviour. In particular we had an issue in a flutter app where the content of webviews isn't captured by screen recordings. This led us down a bit of a rabbithole trying to figure out why the webview wasn't rendering for our users before we realised the feature was working fine, it just wasn't being captured by PostHog.

There is an annoying quick start guide in PostHog that remains sticky and won't go away. When I first installed PostHog, I activated all features because I wasn't sure which ones would be useful. After realizing that our app is still in beta and we didn't need all the features, I disabled the unnecessary ones. However, the quick start guide persists, asking me to finish the rest of the setup, which I don't want to complete. There's no way to hide it, making the experience slightly counterintuitive. I am frustrated with PostHog due to two significant issues. Firstly, the integration process to fully comply with GDPR is cumbersome. There isn't a clear and simple setup that utilizes local storage and flags to work seamlessly with cookie banners. Additionally, there is a lack of a framework surrounding cookie banners, which would simplify this process significantly. Secondly, the self-hosting option via Docker could be improved. It currently requires multiple third-party setups with Postgres as the database. A straightforward, single-image deployment would greatly enhance its usability.
