The most helpful component of portnox is the extensive documentation on intigrating the solution into your network. We found getting the test case setup was verify easy to do and within 30 minutes the account was stood up and we had a working Radius based wifi setup and working. Although there is a view of all devices, it may list out divices, but if we wanted to see what devices was plugged into a specific switchport it is difficult to see that infomration. It is a Swiss army knife for Wireless NAC. It is easy to adjust the config to meet changing business requirements. The GUI is very simple and it ties in nicely with on prem AD. The support and onboarding have been fantastic. They helped sort out some internal issues during the POC and have been patient as our small team gets dragged into different directions. PSK was used throughout wireless environment and Cisco ISE and others were too expensive or not cloud based. One of the things I really like about Portnox is that it's a 100% SaaS-based solution which means no on-premises appliance. You do not need to maintain a separate VM or Virtual Appliance or even physical appliance with the service needed to maintain and take care of it. The other main advantage is the ability in real-time to see every device attempting to connect. This is helpful during audits to demonstrate authorized devices from unauthorized to an auditor. Lastly, Portnox aligned with the organization's compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, GLBA, and GDPR. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Portnox? The main issues with our Portnox solution has been intermittent authentication problems. Things like RADIUS timeouts, mysterious workstation auth issues, and guest wi-fi connection issues. Additionally, there's been a struggle with integration with our network firewalls mainly about configuring guest captive portal wireless with Fortinet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Portnox solving and how is that benefiting you? One problem the Portnox is solving is to provide a comprehensive compliance-based solution that fits well with our regulations, but also provides a functional secure perimeter around our network. Portnox has helped us pass audits where-as other solutions came up short. I find Portnox very easy to use once it's configured, and it gives us complete control over network access by blocking all unknown devices. The integration with Intune is great for automating the enrollment of new verified devices, making it very easy to manage. Sometimes devices get picked up by the wrong policy and it can be a little unclear as to why that happens. It's usually simple enough to fix but can take a bit of investigation. The web interface is easy to use, which is valuable because it reduces how much time it takes me to resolve an issue. I can quickly look at the alerts page and see what's going on. I also appreciate having great support because they help us out right away when we run into an issue. Right now we have an open SSID with Portnox enabled on it. If an employee or user tries to connect their phone to it and gets MAC address bypass denied and I look at alerts and confirm their device is not one I want to worry about. There's no way for me to mute the alerts on their MAC address it will just keep spamming my alerts page and there's no way for me to find these employees to have them disconnect from the wifi. Simple setup, with great support whenever required. The documentation is brilliant and really speaks to a standard Portnox set. The web UI is very intuitive and responsive, with straightforward integrations for Azure / AD, and the documentation helps with any specifics. The support team is also on hand if needed. The speed of information flow between Portnox and on-premise nodes is very fast, which means any issues or alerts are near-instant and can be investigated quickly if/when potential problems are found. It provides very good Network access control in the Cloud with no maintenance needed by my team. This gives us the visibility, controls and management needed to secure our internal networks. very easy deployment via a push of the agent to all our machines. The support has been fantastic. This has been very reliable from day to day perspective and helped us with our security posture reviews. Integrating into our network stack was seamless as well. We had some issues initially setting it up and also for our laptop deployments, it creates more work since we have our techs login and then have to reset or flush the agent cache.
