The main downsides of Porter Metrics are that some setup steps can feel a bit technical in the beginning, especially when working with calculated fields, blended data, and custom dashboards in Looker Studio.

It can also sometimes be difficult to understand exactly where certain numbers are coming from, for example conversion rate, sales metrics, or differences between Shopify, Meta, and GA4 data. Because of that, it may take some time to verify that the dashboard is showing the correct data.
