## Portainer Reviews
  ### 1. Portainer really makes the use of our docker swarm a breeze

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

The way portainer makes it possible to visually manage and maintain a docker swarm really sold it to us.
Tasks that usually take some knowledge of docker cli commands can be completed by someone with lesser knowledge using the GUI portainer provided.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Personally, i preferred the older gui, the gui that was introduced in more recent versions does not do it for me.
Also, using webhooks to update containers with new images from docker hub can take quite a while.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It simplified the management of our docker swarm cluster by alot.
Not only does the gui provide a more convenient use method but it also gives us an easyer visual view of our current swarm status.

**Official Response from Diane Hannay:**

> Thanks for your review and feedback. Great to hear that Portainer has enabled team members with less knowledge of Docker to complete tasks.

  ### 2. Portainer - life saver for Docker management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I love the layout and the ability to link other nodes into one unified interface. The ability to paste docker compose into "stacks" really helps to speed up the workflow.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I think the auto-updating and tidying of images could be handled a little easier, but it works all the same. I'd like to see the ability to add more repositories for usual / standard container templates.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer allows me to monitor and quickly stop/start containers in different locations. For me personally, it provides a better overview than using the command line.

  ### 3. Easily manage applications across Docker, Kubernetes and Cloud

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Probal S. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer is simple to set up, both the platform and clients. Existing applications are then easy to deploy locally and remotely. Application management and problem determination become intuitive rather than requiring deep technical knowledge.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Vendors need to provide commercial software as templates to make things even easier. The Software categorised by vendor would be good, like an app store would be ideal.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying applications on Cloud Kubernetes environments has become much faster than before. Problems are easier to determine as logs are all in one place. It has helped us demonstrate commercial software on Kubernetes.

  ### 4. Visual all-in-one docker management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anton V. | Business Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I like the feature-rich flexibility of Portainer. Everything you can do from command-line docker is possible within Portainer. And it's easier.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I'm missing back-up and restore options that properly handle volumes and stacks.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer solves VPS management, security overview and container transparency.

**Official Response from Diane Hannay:**

> Thanks for your review Anton. I've included a link to the documentation on backup and restore features available.

  ### 5. Portainer helps my team and I debug way faster. It has a great and insightful dashboard.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David U. | Engineering Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Hands down the ability to enter run a command from the web dashboard is my best feature. Viewing logs come in next.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I couldn't authenticate GitHub's docker repository.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The intuitive dashboard is second to None. It makes the whole process of managing containers, especially when there are a lot of them, way easier.

**Official Response from Diane Hannay:**

> Hi David, thanks for taking the time to review Portainer. It's great to hear that the web dashboard and the ability to view logs are helping you better manage your container environment.

In regard to your comment about authentication with GitHub's docker repository, we are bringing support for GHCR as a pre-defined type in 2.17 which will allow the ability to browse the GHCR registry from portainer. Hope this helps.

  ### 6. Amazing application and support team is just the best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rustin C. | Junior Web Applications Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Amazing UI
Easy to import docker-compose files
Portainer staff are always quick and accommodating
The simplicity of the application is amazing
Competitors have nothing on this application

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Nothing really to dislike here. There is a free and enterprise edition which caters for all parties already

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

simplifies deploying docker containers and gives a very good UI to check logs and ssh into the container, making it by far the best tool on the market
This saves us so much time in the long run

  ### 7. Portainer Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johannes v. | Solution Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Ease of use, easy to deploy. Covers all aspects of knowing what is happening in your Docker environment, reading logs and the current state of deployments containers running

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

"This stack was created outside of Portainer. Control over this stack is limited", creating stacks with scripts, not always going into Portainer to create the stacks.

**Recommendations to others considering Portainer:**

If you want a tool to manage and troubleshoot your Docker and Kubernetes environments. Portainer is the choice, it's easy to set up and its ease of use makes it awesome for any person, newbie or expert, to manage their Docker environments.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not every person knows how to use the command line, Portainer provides a one-stop environment to access logs, image variables and settings. This makes Portainer a tool that speeds up trouble shooting and investigation tasks.

  ### 8. The free 5 nodes business edition is reason enough to give it a go !!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wallis S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Coming from a network engineering background and just starting in the DevOps world of containers, I love the simplicity of managing and setting up containers, using the copy-paste for docker-compose and creating interconnected containers as well as connecting nodes to a central management pane of glass.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Nothing - I love the whole product. As I get more and more involved and experienced, there might perhaps be requests for new features etc, but at the moment it fulfils all my needs.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially, as a noob to docker, Portainer covers a lot in spinning up containers from the ease of deploying networks, allocating ports etc as well as helping me to understand the inner workings of docker as well as helping me learn docker-compose etc.

  ### 9. Practical to debug docker/kubernetes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

See the logs, the status of the containers, Monitoring the issue and help me resolve bugs

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Adding new agent.. I never manage to do it, it's never connecting or working, so I just keep installing more portainer App on every platform
When you try to use portainer you always need to click again on the namespace or service to go from one pod to another one.. it's a lot of clicks and search every time you navigate trought portainer trought you only want to have another container on the same service or node. you always have to seach again for it.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easier for people who aren't familiar with docker and it's faster/easier than going through the terminal

  ### 10. With multiple docker instances running, giving me a management overview improved my job performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

That the interface is easy to understand, easy to directly get to the information required and to be able to take action on my environments

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

So far it has done what I needed, some settings are a little obscure but are likely due to lack of training or knowledge more than a system issue

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seeing the images, containers, services, networks, and volumes running on all of my environments and being able to manage and take action.

  ### 11. Portainer is my go to resource for deploying Docker

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

The most helpful thing about Portainer is the easy configuration from a docker image to a hosted app. This streamlines the process and offers really useful debugging support.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Fairly easy to get up and running. I think it doesn't have many drawbacks. I can use it in most any workflow I have with Docker. I wish more people knew about Portainer!

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before coming to Portainer I was not confident in monitoring Docker apps. Now that I have Portainer I can easy inspect resource use and debug as needed from within the Portainer UI.

  ### 12. Perfect tool for the job

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer is an awesome tool, with great interface. It greatly helps me with managing my containers and stacks either at home or at remote servers. This tool is just perfect either for small businesses or enterprises.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

The only thing I didn't like was that Portainer didn't track if containers are updated. After the last update, this was solved and now I can keep all my containers updated without the hustle of getting intel myself.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My original use case was to just replace Synology default UI. But after a few weeks, I added other remote stacks. Portainer gives me a perfect solution for managing all of those remote servers.

  ### 13. Does the job to perfection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry Madsen J. | IT-Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Easy to setup and good layout to navigate around in, do what you want with very few clicks

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

You have to select the enviroment each time

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better overview of docker containers and better management

**Official Response from Diane Hannay:**

> Thanks for the review Henry. Great to hear Portainer was easy to setup for you.

  ### 14. Easiest solution to orchestrate containers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

It's the easiest no-code (or almost no-code) solution to maintain different types of containers. Docker, docker-compose, or k8s - everything in a single web app. It even supports remote docker hosts. And the pricing/evaluation model is very friendly - I use it both in private and professional projects.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I can't find any. It has everything I need for my use cases.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A quick and fast container orchestration.

  ### 15. Great software to manage your containers. Looking foreword to unleash all the functions included

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Intuitively understandable Ux/ui. Just works as it should be. Easy entry.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Until now covers all my needs. Might be interesting to see some traefik usage automation.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I manage all my docker servers with it. Doing in terminal is good, but this piece of software saves my time and gives visualization.

**Official Response from Diane Hannay:**

> Thanks for your review. Great to hear that you're finding the Portainer UI intuitive and easy to understand. :)

Managing docker hosts form one simple UI without using CLI.

  ### 17. Portainer is just AWESOME!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Porainer saves lots of time by getting all things on Web GUI. You don't need to SSH your servers anymore. You can manage your multiple servers on a single web interface. ### 20. Easily manage you containers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

- GitOps: being able to deploy containers directly from GitHub
- The GUI: Simple and clear GUI
- Adding other hosts to manage from one location

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Some problems in exec to docker containers from GUI.
I couldn't find official plugins to Azure DevOps, but I was able to deploy my applications using GitOps method.

**Recommendations to others considering Portainer:**

Sure, go ahead and use portainer, it will make your life easier.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to manage my containers easily with portainer. I can use CICD and GitOps with portainer to deploy containers in my host without extra tools.
It is so easy for me to test and deploy new applications now.

**Official Response from Diane Hannay:**

> Thanks for the positive review Mostafa. Great to hear that the new GitOps features are helpful.

  ### 21. Never had an issue

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows me to accomplish a great deal for clients without having to be on-site or even need a laptop for ssh.

  ### 22. Simple, powerful tool to manage containers and edge services

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandre T. | Graduate research student, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer is simple to set up, simple to learn, and extremely simple to maintain. Configuration is a breeze, as well as adding new nodes to an existing installation. There are tools for almost everything: image and container management, network configuration, stack deployment, etc.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

There isn't much to dislike in Portainer, but if you rely heavily on Kubernetes for very complex deployments, you might find Portainer a bit limiting. It's entirely possible to use it for multi-cloud and hybrid Kubernetes deployments, but you'll probably feel more comfortable with tools specifically designed for such environments.

**Recommendations to others considering Portainer:**

If you don't know if Portainer is the right tool for your needs, don't hesitate to deploy it to your development environment and test it out. The software is straightforward to deploy and use, and you might end up using it to manage your dev cluster even if you don't deploy it in production.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We currently deploy Portainer to provide on-demand containerized scientific applications (like JupyterNotebooks or RStudio). Our analysts can now provide such applications to our researchers promptly, without any interaction with the old scripts we employed in our workflow. Having the ability to write and deploy custom stacks directly from the interface makes including new applications to our pipeline a breeze. Portainer is employed to control and monitor some of our non-critical infrastructure services. With the outstanding uptime and ease of mind we learned to be synonymous with Portainer.

  ### 23. Incredibly intuitive and easy to maintain

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Container, image and network management are all easier with Portainer. Coupled with the ability to add multiple edge agents. It's a fantastically versatile product.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Having to manage SSL ourselves, it would be much easier if letsencrypt was built right in

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're a small team of two, we use the web interface to work with the containers, no need for remote SSH access

**Official Response from Diane Hannay:**

> Thanks for your review! It's great to hear that the ability to add multiple edge agents is helpful for you. With regard to managing SSL, during installation, Portainer by default creates a self-signed SSL certificate to encrypt traffic between the Portainer Server and the end user, as well as between the Portainer Server and the Portainer Agent. This certificate can be replaced with your own certificate if you prefer. I've posted the link to the documentation on this for you.

  ### 24. Very simply to install and use container management sollution.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

easy provisioning of the containers, with built in templates which are awesome to use

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

i think that the portainer app itself is running as a container, and you need to save your configuration if you want to update the portainer app

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy deployment

  ### 26. Help manage my homelab

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill Z. | Sales, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2022

I know docker command or docker-compose, but Portainer offers a decent UI to help me manage my container, and good things, with Portainer, I have more understanding of my docker command.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

nothing unhappy, one thing quite confusing me is the different types of agents.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me manage my home labs, makes me easy to create a container in my bare hardware.
plus, I use Tailscale to connect my network, Portainer works well with Tailscale of course.

  ### 27. Portainer is very easy to use and capable of a lot of things.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Individual & Family Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

The web interface in general, especially the design and the functionality to use Azure Ad SSO. I like that when using Azure SSO I don't have to klick, but instantly get redirected to the Azure login screen.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

One thing I do not like ist the way of upgrading Portainer. I know that using a docker image always requires you to delete the docker image, pull the new one and setup up a new container. It would be perfect if there was a script already written, to do exactly this upgrading process.

**Recommendations to others considering Portainer:**

Try Portainer and you will love it!

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer is helping me with managing all my docker containers. To keep track of all the images I pulled, all the containers currently running and the status of those.

  ### 28. Defacto tool to administrate docker containers

Easy of use and the ability to manage multiple docker nodes

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

The ability no not manage manually created docker compose deployments

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More than solving a problem is giving me the ability to manage my docker nodes without using a ssh terminal

  ### 29. Portainer is a fantastic tool for Docker and Kubernetes

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Very simple application to manage complex container environment

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

None I knows for now I'm using and got what I want

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manage complexity environment
Using docker swarm

  ### 36. Very easy for docker container deployments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Very easy to deploy docker containers or docker compose stacks. It can also be used with docker's swarm.
I primarily use at home to my Selfhosted containers, but also I'm starting to use at work to rapid deploy apps

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I dislike to not be able to auto update Portainer by itself, that would be a great feature for new users. Not complicated, but it would be a great improvement for newcomers

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid deploy containers and docker stacks, to use ant to test new apps, without compromising servers, with a wonderful GUI. I know CLI can be used, but the easier the best.

  ### 37. Easy to use and feature-complete

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandro S. | System Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

The most useful features of Portainer are to have all the containers at hand, with a complete set of options to manage the entire workflow, starting from the creation of the container up to management and maintenance.

it simplifies and speeds up my work, I'm glad to use it.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

The only thing that i dislike is the learning curve that was not fast and the container configuration text editor may have additional facilities, like autocompletion and syntax checking

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

portainer allows me to have the whole swarm cluster manageable in a single web interface, in order to speed up both the deployment of new containers and the troubleshooting of any problems

  ### 38. Portainer is a nice tool !

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I have a visual interface to manage all my containers from different sources.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I am french. I don't mind using an English interface but it could be nice to get multiple languages.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to manage all my containers from different sources with only one interface is way more faster than using command lines.

  ### 39. Perfekt overviews of swarms/containers

**Reviewed by:** Mark W. | Research assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

Managing users on different environments

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Everything's is working well until now :)

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing students for their seminars

  ### 40. Easy to install and setup, makes container management a lot easier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

The container management is a lot easier with Portainer than it is with just by command line. Pull a docker-compose from git and launch it, all from one interface.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Some features are behind the Business Edition, and the pricing is behind their support.

**Recommendations to others considering Portainer:**

If you want to manage multiple Docker hosts, but don't want to go with Kubernetes, Portainer is nice

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am personal/freelance user with Portainer, but it allows me to manage multiple Docker installations from a single interface, meaning less jumping between the servers, different interfaces and consoles.

  ### 41. Easy setup, great support, and terrific interface!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Helps me efficiently manage my containers. Excellent interface and makes day-to-day tasks super simple. A nice one-stop spot to check the health of my environment.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Not much! Love the free 5-agent license, too!

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer helps me see all my active and stopped containers quite easily.

  ### 42. Easy to use, enough features to make it well worth the setup.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I typically work with small teams that are not as savvy as myself regarding containerization. I use Portainer to let the rest of the team have some basic controls (stop/start/restart) and visibility into logs. When they need simple status updates or peek at the logs, they use Portainer rather than waiting for me. At the same time, I get more precise control and can use compose format, and even swarm deploy all from a handy GUI.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Updating Portainer itself is a manual process; it would be great if this could be a "click here to update" button.

**Recommendations to others considering Portainer:**

Portainer is the first thing I deploy on every docker install I do now, without even thinking about it. If you need a solution that just works, are too small to have a DevOps dedicated team, or just want a shiny interface for business management to have some visibility, Portainer is hands-down the way to go.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems solved: Give non-technical technical team members the ability to check status, restart services, view logs without learning SSH and shell commands.
Benefits: The Portainer GUI lets me see resource utilization, quickly spot stopped containers, and perform general housekeeping tasks rapidly. My day-to-day job isn't focused on DevOps, so I need simple controls that just work; Portainer delivers every time.

**Official Response from Diane Hannay:**

> Thanks for your detailed review, we really appreciate it. With regard to manual updates - this is something we're aware of and are hoping to improve in the future. You can track the discussion around it on GitHub here https://github.com/portainer/portainer/issues/3197

  ### 43. Administer and inspect containers easily from anywhere

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** César G. | Senior Software Development Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

The exec console is excellent because the users don't need to access the server where the container is running nor have additional software since the console is emulated from the Web.

The users can have their access restricted to a subset of services/volumes, so they don't see containers outside their area.

Another plus to Portainer is that a user can reconfigure the running service on the fly by changing environment variables, mount points and constraints directly from the Web.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

The portainer agents can become unresponsive when a new node is added to the swarm or a node is restarted making the Web interface non-functional, forcing us to restart the agent service from the command line, sadly this problem is years old.

The volume browser is also bugged for big files (+100MB) as they take a long time to download and the download is often truncated, making it unreliable.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Portainer to manage our Docker Swarm cluster for our infraestructure and services. Thanks to Portainer we no longer have to provide developers with SSH access to our cluster thus increasing security. All the administrative tasks can be done from the Web interface, from chaging environment variables to opening to a shell to debug a problem.

  ### 44. An unparalleled experience by a beginner in Kubernetes using the early release.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kudzai Chris K. | Associate Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

A simple, intuitive interface which I could figure out things.
Ease in troubleshooting via a browser Logs view and a browser container shell access.
Easy deployment of Helm charts.
Beautiful GUI which could give an overview of applications' status, port forwarding and service types.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Though this is an early release, I was unable to edit helm values before deployment.
I was unable to redeploy helm charts when values were changed.
It was not clear how I could manage multiple clusters or add a cluster to the dashboard.

**Recommendations to others considering Portainer:**

Portainer is the tool to go to if you have understood the CLI fundamentals of Kubernetes and want to get started with deployments on your cluster. It offers an intuitive, user-friendly graphical user interface that helps with the rapid deployment of services on your cluster. It provides a lot of information on general applications' health and application-specific views, which assist in debugging and resolving problems.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was trying to deploy a Kubernetes cluster on a Raspberry Pi 4B with an arm64v8 processor. I needed an easy and intuitive way to manage the cluster that would be quick without me having to memorize commands or run repetitive commands.
I benefited from the clean and intuitive user interface. I managed to speed up my understanding and deployment times. It made me understand Kubernetes even better and deeper despite being an early release.
