## About PortaBilling
PortaBilling is a billing and charging platform for telcos, MVNOs, and communication service providers. It enables operators to launch, price, provision, and manage voice, video, IPTV/VoD, IP Centrex/Hosted PBX, residential VoIP, WiFi, LTE, and IoT/M2M services. The platform supports wholesale, retail/SMB, wireless, converged, and IoT service models, including MVNO/MVNE deployments. PortaBilling offers an open API architecture for integration with third-party systems. It is available as a one-time unlimited license or a monthly SaaS subscription, with both on-premise and cloud (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) deployment options. PortaBilling is used by over 500 customers worldwide.

**What do you like best about PortaBilling?**

It’s quite easy to get familiar with all the detailed documentation, release management and its descriptions, API change logs, and so on. One thing is starting from zero—getting it installed and configured—but it’s another story to live with it in day-to-day business, and that’s where you need support and advice from experts. It’s also easy to integrate external systems/modules, and performance has never been an issue.

**What do you dislike about PortaBilling?**

Porta seems to follow a “not going crazy” path, prioritizing the product over custom, one-customer-only development. At times, this can mean less flexibility when it comes to offering solutions for more complex commercial needs, although from a technical perspective I find that completely understandable. Branching too many different things into the product quickly becomes a nightmare when it comes to supporting and updating the system.

**What problems is PortaBilling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does what it’s supposed to do—it provides a proper billing service for both postpaid and prepaid. No headache is the biggest benefit in my case.

**What do you like best about PortaBilling?**

It is a very advanced Voip Portal and Billing Engine
There are good security features
Very good API and many integrations available.

**What do you dislike about PortaBilling?**

It allows one very limited features for setting up Hosted PBXes. We have moved our customers to 3cx and use PortaBilling for the trunks and billing.
Setting up the billing side is time consuming but it just works thereafter
New interface is very confusing. I am still struggling to find everything I need.

**What problems is PortaBilling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ensuring that customers are billed and we are aware at the difference between what we are paying suppliers and we are billing our customers.
Ensuring that credit limits are in place in case customers are ahcked.
