what I like best about PopSQL is its user-friendly interface and seamless integration with various database systems, making it easy to manage and query databases efficiently.

PopSQL solves the problem of managing and querying databases effectively by providing a user-friendly interface and powerful features. It benefits users by streamlining their database workflow, saving time and effort in writing and executing queries, and improving overall productivity and efficiency in database management tasks.

  ### 3. PopSQL is great for collaborative use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2023

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

PopSQL is a great program to assist with Query creation. Especially in a group setting. Our team can come up with a base query written by ChatGPT or an intern, and then a pro can flesh it out and refine it.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

It doesn't interface with MS SQL dbs in the same way that SSMS does. But You can still use the tool to create queries, and the use them in any way you see fit.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The visual queries are an excellent assist for basic queries. Plus, the editor is roughly the same as Visual Code, so most of our students and interns can use this right out of the gate.

  ### 4. Positive PopSQL experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2023

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

It helps to pull a large amount of data quickly via CSV or convert to CSV

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

To be fair, I may not utilize this as much as some of my colleagues, but I don't have dislikes currently for the few tasks I use it for.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I only use PopSQL when I need to send an email blast to a large group of customers and need to pull specific account info for them.

  ### 5. Great for standardized reports

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

I dislike that you cannot create reports if you don't understand SQL.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PopSQL helps me create standardized reporting fast.

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

It is more easier than any other tool in the market. would like to share it with everyone

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

As of now there is nothing which I did not like , the more I'll use then I'll be abe to provide valid feedback

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To visulaize the data mainly , also it is very usr friendly

  ### 7. Super helpful for code reviews

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2023

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

Love using Popsql to get code reviews. The Popsql team is also extremely responsive to feedback/questions.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

The app sometimes freezes or unexpectedly exits out

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needing to easily QA other people's code, or vice versa. The data dictionary, which tells you what columns are most queried, also saves me time from asking co-workers what columns to use/ are reliable.

  ### 8. Great product and really user friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2023

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

I like the slick design and the easy to use user interface.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

It can sometimes be slightly challenging when connecting new database. Would be useful if there was more info on each field.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

POPSQL allows me to check our database for incoming data which helps me to implement and connect data to the relevant places.

  ### 9. PopSQL is a very useful tool for data management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2023

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

It's very versatile and friendly for the user. It has many valuable features, and it's easy to identify and correct errors, which is handy regarding time management.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

The desktop app does not always work as fast as the PopSQL website. Also, when editing scheduled queries, the schedule is automatically broken, and a new schedule must be programmed, which makes it a bit tedious, especially when performing iterative tasks. Other than that, I do not have any other issues with the tool. I am pleased with it so far.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not aware.

  ### 10. The Modern SQL Editor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Namanpreet K. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

The interface provided is very comfortable. The entire UI is divided into various sections as per the queries, databases and their outputs. It's more robust and works faster than the other SQL editors.
It can be used in group projects and the database visualization works efficiently under team access.
It has free as well as a paid/membership version with a variety of features and no pre-requisites before installation except for basic knowledge of MySQL.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

The drawbacks I faced were that:
1. PopSQL offers limited features in the free version and we have to upgrade to the paid version to get all the features and benefits.
2. It can be used only for SQL databases and doesn't offer support for NoSQL database systems like MongoDB, Oracle DBMS etc.

**Recommendations to others considering PopSQL:**

It is a very interactive application and very easy to use with some prior knowledge of MySQL.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PopSQL is relatively modern and is a good place to start the MySQL journey.
It is very easy to operate and provides database editing tools along with executing the SQL commands very fast and displaying them in the various sections.
It provides a multi-user environment and also enables collaboration between users from all over the world, resulting in efficient team-work and projects management.

  ### 11. A lot of the team uses SQL, and we swear by this tool

**Reviewed by:** Darren L. | sr director of marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2023

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

Context sensitive editing is really important as it helps with correcting the SQL statements prior to executing. Very well done.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

Nothing we dislike about the tool. Can't say anything on the negative side.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

being able to create working visual graphs out of our SQL

  ### 12. One of the most important tools for any data team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

Multi Database SQL client, Great UI, easy to use, and reliable. Saves a ton of time for our analytics team by making querying data and collaboration easy. Also, the option for quick visualizations is the cherry on top.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

Sometimes it takes longer than expected for query results to load without any evident cause for the same.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Writing queries to fetch data from multiple Database clients.
- Quick collaboration within the team
- Exploratory data analysis

  ### 13. Great exploration and visualisation SQL tool, which is always further developing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

- constant development
- good for ad hoc analysis and SQL query creations
- handy and straightforward visualisation with graphs and even dashboards now
- reliable
- great support
- good for sharing insights

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

- a bit limited still on the dashboards, but just giving the option for quick visualisation is already a plus

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- quick ad hoc analysis editor
- delivering insights
- easy deep-dive into Data Lake and DWH

  ### 14. Absolutely incredible!

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2023

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

Best SQL Client money can buy, and on top of that it's collaborative!

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

Works great all around, nothing to complain about!

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaborative SQL queries and data analysis

  ### 15. Just awesome

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

We have been using PopSQL for almost three years now; we love how we can work with different SQL connections in the same place and share them with all our team members. Another feature we love is the "Version history" we can go back to any point we left a query. It is so simple even our co-workers without considerable SQL experience are using it

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

It is not a dislike, but I would like a feature to help us share the query results as a web service.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PopSQL basically works agnostic to any engine, we only focus on the SQL code, and we forget about how it is connected

  ### 16. PopSQL

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Individual & Family Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2023

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

Simple interface and UI
Easy to use
Fonts and modes

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

Its pretty much like sublime editor
Nothing fancy or new

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Querying databases

  ### 17. Best UI provider for sql databases

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Achal J. | Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

Generally sql databases are programmed on the terminal which has not a user friendly environment. But popsql solves this problem it provides a UI for sql database management. It provides snippets of the request to be executed and the database can be accessed from anywhere around the globe. Popsql is really good for handling the Sql databases as it helps in collaborations and merging other databases too.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

In popsql we can't use it for other Non Sql databases like Mongodb or Express and others. It is only useful in case of Sql databases. It can be improved by adding the support for more databases and providing integrated non sql database handling too.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to handle my Sql database on the terminal itself but after I started using PopSql my efficiency increased exponentially. It was so easy to use and now I can handle all the databases easily and quickly. It saved a lot of time and work for me.

  ### 18. Good choice for online SQL browser

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avanish G. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

You can whitelist PopSQL IP address and it works like magic. You can access your database from any location on the planet, and you do not need to whitelist your IP, again and again, every time.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

The data visualization features are not very easy to use. It does not provide any good aggregation features either. You miss the likes of MongoDB compass and Python visualization libraries.

**Recommendations to others considering PopSQL:**

Good for repeated queries. Not very good for aggregations and visualizations

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using PopSQL makes it easier for the developers to make queries to databases, especially relational ones. It makes it easier to run the same query again and again without a lot of effort.

  ### 19. The best SQL tool product we found!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Usman M. | VP, Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

It's effortless to set up. The SQL editor is snappy, syntax highlighting works well & keyboard shortcuts are thoughtful, making writing and sharing queries really easy. I started using the native macOS app recently, which feels even more blazingly fast. The team also seems to be shipping new features and improvements rapidly, which is great to see!

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

Query latency is slow compared to connecting directly against the database. Chart inference can be improved, though it works reliably for most of the cases I've run into.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of the engineers in my tool use it as their primary SQL editor. All our production databases & warehouses are available on PopSQL making adhoc data exploration easy.

  ### 20. IMPRESSED!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

What surprised me the most when going through the demonstration was how easy it was to understand the visualisations. I loved how easy it was to find what I needed in their docs page. Everything was completely intuitive and user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

I came across a few hiccups when I was trying to connect my bigquery database. However, I ended up reaching out to support and was able to get my issue resolved within the day.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to PopSQL, my team didn't have a great way of storing or sharing SQL queries. All of our SQL queries were stored in about a dozen different places (EG github, Google Drive, local desktop files, Slack, etc...) Now all of our team's foundational work is centralized in one place which helps with search/discovery/collaboration on SQL.

  ### 21. PopSQL is my team's secret weapon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben F. | Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

The ability to build sharable dashboards from MySQL is amazing. I've tried every tool over the years, ranging from Chartio to Sisense/Periscope. PopSQL is the simplest way to quickly build out complex dashboards from our database.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

I wish several features weren't enterprise-only --- big in price for a few specific features we want as a small startup that are only available on the enterprise plan.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal dashboards for our team to monitor activity / usage in our database, and shareable dashboards to give our customers that give them insight into their business without us having to build out an actual dashboard.

  ### 22. Extremely easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

Share queries across our teams. Easy export.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

Not much! It does what it's supposed to do with great ease.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us to share complex queries for weekly and monthly reports.

  ### 23. Amazing experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

Easy to use. It is fast and the interface is intuitive.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

Sometimes it is slow and some features are not explained

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Query schedules

  ### 24. Great tool (with small hiccups) for versioning and syncing SQL-Code to your code repositories

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

We are using PopSQL as an alternative to the BigQuery UI. PopSQL is much more "cleaner" and structured and has in-built versioning of your SQL code. You can even implement a sync to your favorite code repository (github, gitlab), which was our main motivation to give PopSQL a try.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

The sync to a code repository can be confusing at start, but we figured it out with the great support PopSQL offers. Queries are somewhat slow when you want to access bigger data amounts (in comparison to native BigQuery)

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our SQL-Code was organized very decentralized and neither saved nor versioned in a code repository. We can now all do this with PopSQL and can thereby also see the work of colleagues.

  ### 25. The best data visualization and analytics reporting tool as well

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2021

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

I have been using all most all the features of PopSQL and by far it's the most advanced database client I have ever worked with. In that row, my favorite features are charts and table views from direct SQL queries, query auto-completion, the ability to store DB connections in PopSQL cloud so it's easy to switch devices and work, etc.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

In terms of features PopSQL really stands out from the competitors, But where it lags behind is the types of data sources is its supports. for example most of the popular OLAP data warehousing and data pipelines are not supported out of the box with PopSQL.

**Recommendations to others considering PopSQL:**

If you are business analytics or a data science professional, I would strongly recommend considering PopSQL as one of your primary tools as it will make day-to-day work much easier. But if you are someone looking for a standard database client, PopSQL might have some extra functionalities. But I would say still it's worth it.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been working with a lot of data engineering and analytics report-generating platforms where I use PopSQL as one of the primary tools. It actually helps me to build reliable reports and analytics from direct SQL queries as well as it allows me to share the work by adding the team members as collaborators. Also, the ability to export data in formats such as .csv, JSON makes my task easier for migrations.

  ### 26. PopSQL is the best lightweight SQL editor

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2022

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

It is the easiest tool to write, share, and schedule queries. I used to only be able to do this with Chartio but now PopSQL has filled the gap!

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

No dislikes except that they are now charging for features that used to be free - totally acceptable for a company that is delivering value to their customers though!!

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in Growth, so PopSQL is a super lightweight effective tool to share data with customers, internal partners, etc.

  ### 27. Database IDE tailored for Business Analysts. Child with a great potential.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matěj A. | BIT Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2020

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

Popsicle makes SQL as a tool well accessible to the business user, taking away file management, connection configuration struggle, and most importantly dealing with Git. The UI is simplistic yet complete, with a file manager, guidance toward the one-query-per-file convention, intellisense that performs, and accessible share/export/vizualise features one click away. Seamlessly working connections are one of the many back-end advantages of its very solid back-end. Group collaboration is well facilitated and the personnel keen to interact and receive feedback.
Because the product is in its infancy, the penetration pricing makes the whole package a great deal in spite of its current weaknesses.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

Being relatively new, users may encounter missing features and experience some difficulties dealing with some aspects of the UI. My opinion is that some of the controls could be moved and reduced in size to allow for larger window for the code and output. The intellisense is improving quickly but some aspects of it are still clunky. Support for mutliple cursor and further mouse interaction will also be appreciated.

**Recommendations to others considering PopSQL:**

Give PopSQL a try, if you are working between a database server and the soft side of the business. It may become a valuable partnership that simplifies many things.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PopSQL to store and version control my SQL scripts, many of which are definitions of views stored in our data warehouse, while others provide me with easy way of sharing ad-hoc or periodic tabular reports with the CEO and our financial analyst through Slack, so I don't have to deal with Excel.

  ### 28. PopSQL for writing reports

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shreshthi M. | HRIS Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

PopSQL is useful in writing queries and in data base visualization. We have used the free version as it suits our needs. The best part I like about this feature is the ability to write multiple queries at once. I can also organize my codes in folders and save my work to access it in future. Incorrect codes are highlighted in color and it makes trouble shooting easier. While it is recommended that someone with a background in coding uses this software, there are also training available which is a good feature.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

Some SQL words can be missed as the vocabulary is limited. But, it still meets my needs as we use it to run basic queries. I would still recommend this software because the team is frequently updating it and adding new features.

**Recommendations to others considering PopSQL:**

The software has good training that one can gain from. I would recommend it.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use reports on a monthly basis to analyze data. In the past we were working with spreadsheets and doing the data cuts manually. There was a lot of scope for error. It was also difficult to find someone with good skills in data analytics. With this soft most data cuts can be done with and digitized to obtain graphs automatically. It has helped us in manage our resources.

  ### 29. Expected functionality in a beautiful UI

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ted D. | Senior Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2019

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

What I like most about POPSql is that it's really a beautiful product. It does what is expected of it (which many products do) but the interface in turning you SQL into results makes the product kind of fun to use. Goodbye command line data and hello popsql!

Worth giving it a shot if you're using something like SQLpro or similar. Nothing will make this product jump off the screen or improve your workflow by X% but it is for sure an upgrade on similar products.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

I can't really pinpoint anything that I dislike about this product. If they tried to add more (unwanted) bells and whistles it could backfire but they've done a good job of improving the presentation and leaving the functionality as is.

What I would suggest: Keep making minor tweaks on the UI or no changes at all.

**Recommendations to others considering PopSQL:**

Give it a try! It's a free offering so you really have nothing to lose by testing it out. If you know what you are doing then it is a great tool. If you don't then the tool can't really help you :)

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accessing and analyzing data from out many databases. We use this product as a UI for seeing the data in our products database. Nothing super fancy and there are plenty of similar products in the space. POPSql just makes it easier and more fun than most of those other products.

  ### 30. PopSQL is a very comprehensive and easy-to-use SQL client that is very much bug-free.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

PopSQL is fast, intuitive, and very easy to pick up.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

There are limited features - especially in terms of dashboarding and charting.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PopSQL runs most, if not all my SQL queries. I solve problems given by various departments with very little friction. PopSQL's easy-to-use interface simplifies a lot of the tasks, on top of being able to use shared queries.

  ### 31. Strong free SQL client, but times out

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2018

**What do you like best about PopSQL?**

It's free, collaborative and really easy to use. It's clean and beautiful and inexpensive to start.

**What do you dislike about PopSQL?**

For large queries, due to json serialization, sometimes you can't run large queries without getting "invalid string length" errors.

**Recommendations to others considering PopSQL:**

Make sure the impliciti sharing meets you needs. DB connections are shared with your domain unless you stop that preference, but is cool, but also makes the data widely available.

**What problems is PopSQL solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple DB querying. A pretty PGadmin alternative
