I really appreciate that POINT was the most aesthetically pleasing platform we considered, which is important so volunteers enjoy looking at and using it. We love that there's an app for volunteers to track their hours and events across the organization. I also like the general interface and the usability of POINT, particularly once proper training is given. The integrations with DonorPerfect and Checkr are a great feature as well. Tracking the life cycle of a volunteer doesn't work the easiest for us. It's tough to track volunteers from start to finish - specifically if there are trainings and such that they register for and attend - it would be amazing if the application form including an integration with monday.com or another platform in which we gather registrations for training sessions. I'd like if background checks could auto-renew, and if the QR code check-in worked without the volunteer needing the app. I also struggle with duplicate accounts in POINT, which I'd love to see automatically identified and merged. For event updates, it would be better if notices weren’t sent to everyone when minor updates to the event are made. Emergency contacts being auto-filled incorrectly is another issue; POINT should flag this. At present, a vast majority of volunteer profiles have an emergency contact that is listed as themselves - POINT should flag when the emergency contact is the same and prompt an alternative response be given. The process of group tracking and group assignments feels clunky, and I'm still getting the hang of it. Filtering event sign-ups by shift is something I'm missing as we cannot export/create shift coordinator sheets for each shift, making event organization harder than it should be. When a volunteer is assigned, their data (shirt sizes, food selections etc) are not counted as part of overall responses - this is very challenging for big events that require all this data to be accurate. Lastly, the initial setup of POINT was challenging due to its complexity and would benefit from more hands-on support from customer service to mitigate the need for help down the line. I would, also, REALLY like it if age is something that was required so that our demographics could be tracked better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Thanks for your kind words, Anele - we love working with you!
I'm so glad the design and usability stood out to you, especially once your team got proper training in, and that the app, DonorPerfect, and Checkr integrations have been useful pieces of the puzzle.
This is such thorough feedback, thank you for taking the time to lay it all out. From tracking volunteers through their full lifecycle and training registrations, to auto-renewing background checks, duplicate account merging, shift-level filtering and exports, and flagging things like incorrect emergency contacts, there's a lot here that's genuinely useful for us to dig into. We're a feedback driven product, and we've shared your full list of requests directly with our CEO and Head of Product.
I also hear you on the initial setup being more complex than it should've been. That's valuable to know, and we want that process to feel more hands-on from the start.
Thanks for being a POINT nonprofit!
