Top Rated Podcastle Alternatives
Unlike other text-to-speech tools, Podcastle actually sounds pretty natural which makes it far easier to engage with when listening. It's also extremely easy to use and I like the features I see coming down the pipe, as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not every voice sounds as good as the best ones. That said, even the worst of them still beats most other tools out there. Some of the features could be a bit more polished, like pasting in paragraphs of text and having to go through and fix the return characters, but I know these are things they've been working on. Recording Issues:
Both my guests and I often get kicked out of the recording studio. Out of 10 recordings with different guests and internet connections, all experienced the same problem. It's not a user issue; it's a platform problem. Distracting banners about internet quality frequently appear, disrupting conversations despite precautions like closing all other windows.
Editing Challenges:
The audio waves are too small for precise editing, and the audio and video are never synchronized. This creates an unprofessional experience where it sounds like I'm interrupting my guests or vice versa. Editing is far from user-friendly.
AI Features:
The AI tools don’t work as advertised, adding to the frustration instead of improving efficiency.
Impact on Workflow:
These issues significantly affect my ability to meet deadlines. I host important guests, have sponsor obligations, and need reliable tools. Unfortunately, I often resort to Zoom because it's faster and more reliable, even with its lower video quality.
Bottom Line:
This platform needs serious improvements to justify its cost. The repeated issues make it hard to recommend for anyone with professional podcasting needs. Wonder how it has been for those that give 5 stars Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I run a podcast, Sunday Afternoon Smokes, and I know absolutely nothing about audio recording or post-production editing. Because tech isn't my strong suit, it took me over a year of trying various setups to get it right. However, once I finally figured out the right computer, microphones, audio-interface, and stubmled into podcastle I was 100% set.
It's so user friendly you literally don't need to know anything. Create a show, get your recording hardware set up, click record and then you're off and running. Post-production editing couldn't be more simple. All it takes is one click of the mouse to remove unwanted background noise, and trust me, it works beautifully. I record in my backyard, and my house is located right up against a very busy street. If you listened to the podcast you'd never know. One more click and you'll get boost to the voices for studio quality sound. Adding music is simple too with a royalty free selection of music, and easy drag and drop to create the fade-in fade-out effect.
Getting your rss feed or downloading individual episodes to the major podcast platforms is a breeze. I have my show on Spotify, Apple (which was a pain - but that's partly an apple issue and I'm stupid, not podcastle), and iHeart Radio.
Podcastle has made creating your own podcast a breeze. All you need to know how to do is talk. Podcastle handles the rest. I've already recommended it to another person looking to start up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the things I haven't been able to figure out is why there's no pause button (that I can discern) for you to use during recording. I guess if you need to stop for a bathroom break or whatever reason, they want you to just stop recording and then pick it back up by starting to record again.
Other than that I don't really have any complaints at this point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We've been using Podcastle for almost a year now, recording episodes on average once a week, and we're not planning to switch platforms any time soon. It's super easy to record both audio and video, then edit and download later (for further editing, if required). We’ve never encountered any major issues with customer service, unlike some other reviews here. Every time I've reached out via message or email, I’ve received a response within a few hours, and any problems were resolved pretty quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This is more of a nitpicky comment about some of the editor’s features. For instance, it would be helpful to have an option to "snap" audio files together with millisecond precision or the ability to cut multiple audio tracks simultaneously instead of one by one. This doesn't take away from the overall user experience, as I do further editing after recording outside of Podcastle as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that podcastle is great for people who aren't tech savy. Its super simple to use and efficent. I also like that there are alreay features on here to help your audio recordings sound like good quaility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For someone who is more knowledgable on editing and audio related stuff may not find this platform 100% useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Podcastle has saved me countless hours sound editing my podcast. With just the click of a button, their AI sound editor, which is aptly named "Magic Dust" does the magic for you. I can't imagine my podcast production without this incredible tool.
Podcastle is constantly upgrading and adding new features and their customer service team is top notch. Fast and friendly.
It's also very user friendly. Thanks to Podcastle, my recording and editing process is a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would love being able to change the background for video podcast recording. Virtual backgrounds that you can upload yourself would be awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am someone who started a podcast before for a short period of time. I am now coming back to it. Podcastle makes it so easy to get started compared to what I went through years ago. Everything you need is there, plus a lot more. I think the editing and AI voice features are amazing, and keep you from having to use and pay for multple tools. Plus the fact that you can just get started with hosting on Podcastle. Like I said, you don't have to go anywhere else. I love it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I honestly cannot think of anything I don't like about Podcastle. I love it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Super easy to use interface, and easy to transition to. I've used many podcast apps, and was worried about learning a new system, but Podcastle is ridiculously easy, and I can do everything I need to do in half the time. I use it three times a week and have yet to be disappointed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing I would say I explicitly dislike. I wish more features were available on the basic plan, but I understand why they're not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is so easy to use customer support is excellent and the team are fast to respond and support. The features are great with regular updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The system can be a little slow , so ensure you are using Google Chrome to get the best out of the site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
