## Pluralsight Reviews
  ### 1. Pluralsight not for me

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lukas L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Pluralsight?**

I've been using the Pluralsight Skills web app for a while now, and there are aspects of it that I truly appreciate. One of the key features that stands out to me is the organization of courses into paths, each containing several related courses. This setup provides a structured learning experience, guiding users through a cohesive curriculum.

**What do you dislike about Pluralsight?**

While the courses themselves are well-made and informative, I find myself missing a crucial component: practical application. While the videos offer valuable insights and explanations, learning solely through passive consumption isn't the most efficient method for me. I believe that true mastery comes from applying newly acquired knowledge in practical projects or through code examples.
In an ideal learning environment, I would love to see more emphasis on hands-on exercises, coding challenges, or real-world projects integrated into the platform. This would not only reinforce the concepts taught in the videos but also provide a more engaging and interactive learning experience.

**What problems is Pluralsight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access to Pluralsight was provided by my company as a means for me to improve my technical skills. While this initiative has certainly helped broaden my understanding and provided valuable theoretical knowledge across various technologies, it falls short in terms of directly translating that knowledge into practical application within my job role.
I find myself wishing for more opportunities to bridge the gap between theory and practice. While the platform excels in delivering educational content, the absence of practical application within the context of my specific job responsibilities limits its effectiveness in directly impacting my day-to-day tasks.

**Official Response from Carli Berntson:**

> Hi Lukas,

We are very sorry that you were not pleased with the practical application of our courses within your role. We do have 50+ hands-on projects to build applications using an in-browser environment with instant feedback to quickly debug code that you may find effective.

As new content is published on Skills, we continually measure sentiment, engagement, and freshness to ensure the highest quality and most effective content. This feedback informs our skills coverage strategy, future curriculum decisions, author relationships, and more. Your satisfaction is our top priority and we invite you to reach out to us at support@pluralsight.com, so we can better understand how we can continue to make improvements to our content freshness strategy. Thanks again for your time, and we look forward to hearing from you!

  ### 2. No way to export my notes to Obsidian

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vyacheslav K. | Certified IT Developer (Applications), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Pluralsight?**

Prompts me with a bit of fear to know that I'm not doing enough.

**What do you dislike about Pluralsight?**

No way to export my notes/progress to Obsidian

**What problems is Pluralsight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My work doesn't use the results from the skills, so I'm not sure how it will be used in the future.

  ### 3. Become a Cloud Engineer with Plurasight.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stanley D. | Data Engineer, Computer Hardware, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Pluralsight?**

1. I love the Plurasight user interface, most especially the dark background.
2. I love the fact that before taking any course, an IQ test is recommended in order to know one's familiarity and knowledge about the course. After which a path is recommended in order to gain full knowledge about the course based on the IQ test.
3. There are a lot of video lectures, which are very detailed and explanatory to anyone.

**What do you dislike about Pluralsight?**

1. The user experience is not really the best, because it took me a long while to understand how the site is structured (I am still understanding).
2. The whole path idea seems nice but can be really stressing and confusing due to too many unnecessary videos.

**What problems is Pluralsight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am currently undergoing a scholarship challenge on Cloud Engineer sponsored by Andela Learning Community and Google.

  ### 4. Content needs more vetting

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Pluralsight?**

For those working as developers, Pluralsight offers a wide variety of good quality classes that teach everything from programming basics to tips and tricks to advanced procedures.

**What do you dislike about Pluralsight?**

The classes are almost entirely within the realm of IT and then within that mostly programming. I found the programming courses to be good, but in different fields, the options were few and the quality poor. For example, I was hoping to take some courses on mobile application design, but there wasn't much to pick from. One course was just a very basic interview with an app designer and provided very little applicable knowledge. Another series of videos for the prototyping tool Axure, were recorded haphazardly and even at some points the teacher could be heard eating in the background.

**Recommendations to others considering Pluralsight:**

Would recommend if you are a programmer, young or old. If you are young or learning, there is a lot you can get from the various classes. If you are more senior, there are good classes for keeping up to date with current norms. Would probably be good for a college student as well.

**What problems is Pluralsight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The company I work for requires employees to partake in a certain number of hours of training each year, so we offer licenses of Pluralsight to anyone in the company who wants it. It's been helpful for programmers, both junior and senior, to catch up on their skills. It also if useful for helping them frequently with specific challenges since there are so many in depth classes.

  ### 5. I ahve used this product as a user, watching and learning from videos

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William W. | Support Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Pluralsight?**

I like the fact there are hundreds of training videos and hundreds of subjects that you can choose from

**What do you dislike about Pluralsight?**

I dislike some of the content in the vides, some of the struff I have seen isn't applicable and would have been easier to have a quick google rather than watch a video for 60 minutes

**Recommendations to others considering Pluralsight:**

I would use CBT Nuggets, the content is greater and more in depth

**What problems is Pluralsight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use a lot of new software so need to keep up to speed with latest developments and features
