Robust Inventory Control - every container is serialized with a designated location that is scanned at every move. It also prevents any consumption not on the BOM. The reporting structure is not as great as some other ERP systems that I've used like NetSuite. We didn't have serialized inventory with our previous ERP system which caused us to always be searching for parts and didn't have any faith in inventory reporting, causing supply chain issues. People bought Plex as an ALL IN ONE solution. That was their competitive advantage. Now they are pushing you to third party software that takes time to integrate and then you have the cost of another software and something else to babysit. From using Plex in multiple companies now, the best part about Plex is that AFTER initial setup and users are trained, the experience is relatively simple even for those who are not everyday computer users. Documentation is limited and provides little guidance on best practices. The documentation leaves you guessing and sometimes fumbling around just trying to get SOMETHING to work, never knowing if it is the best or easiest solution. The UI is simple and easy to learn. Plex is very easy to navigate, and teaching our employees how to use the system has been uncomplicated. This has been a great upgrade from our ERPLX system.
