In the past two years, I have used Play.ht and I have to say that I am very satisfied with it. The tool is constantly updated and new voices are constantly being added, which is a nice addition. I have used it to create simple audios, phrases for videos, and long texts. It works pretty well. For example, Spanish (the main language I use) has 22 different accents depending on the country, so there are many voices separated into languages. You can organize your audios into folders if you have a lot of them, which saves me time when I'm searching for an audio. Aside from all of these, you can share the access with the team, so you can work on the audios at the same time. Overall, I recommend this tool if you want to create many audios at once. It's true that sometimes the audio isn't what I wanted, but there are ways to fix it, like adding a customized pause or dividing a word into letters, or speeding it up or slowing it down. Most voices sound quite natural and intonation can be edited or worked on before you generate the speech. I love how some voices and accents are so natural you can barely notice it could be an AI. Female voices tend to sound more "Siri-like", which is not so good. They could also work more on AI speakers "talking" with an accent, such as Latin Americans speaking English, Americans speaking French, etc. That would certainly be useful. It's pretty amazing to see how our simple text comes to life with a voice that brings it to life and conveys a type of emotion to our text. My only downside is that with the subscription you can't have all the languages with the pro pack. The AI voices are very natural sounding and are of high quality. With the ability to add another speaker, I am able to make dialogues between 2 people. I especially like the "preview paragraph" feature because it allows me to hear texts without consuming word credit and therefore make the voices sound even more natural by adding necessary pauses and commas before downloading them. French voiceovers tend to make unnecessary liaisons (e.g. "ils ont été", "ça aurait été"). To avoid this, we have to add a dash (i.e. ils ont-été, ça aurait-été). Sometimes, reading in a new language on our own can be a bit of a challenge, especially if one is unfamiliar with sentence stress, intonation, accent, etc. Before using play.ht, I needed a native speaker of a particular language who can pronounce sample sentences correctly for me. Play.ht helped me solved that problem. By listening and repeating the voiceovers I created with this app, I managed to improve my accent. The quality of the product (voices) is excellent. It is very easy to edit sentences and regenerate voiceovers, making the whole process very efficient. The pricing is very reasonable and quite flexible. On top of that, the support is second to none – play.ht is an enterprise grade solution. I had a minor technical issue limited to my account and support guys from play.ht fixed it instantaneously. If you need play.ht for professional services (like me), that level of support is paramount. And lastly, they seem to be pretty busy as new features and improvements pop out on a weekly basis, which is very reassuring in terms of play.ht future growth. While our customer base is in the UK, most of our employees are not native speakers. Recording professional voice-overs are time-consuming, and expensive, and any changes are very impractical. Play.ht allows our officers to create professional videos with high-quality and consistent voice-overs in a very efficient way. They have a wide variety of voice-overs to generate for your commercial purpose. Their ultra-realistic voiceovers are also very helpful for generating voiceovers. The two things I want to point out are that the ultra-realistic plan is quite expensive and should be offered for less price. In the past, I have been purchasing voice-overs from native English-speaking sellers. And it was very expensive. Play.ht is constantly updated by its team and provides voice overs which are completely indistinguishable from human voices. Making better conversations goes from precise speed changing of articles, but all speed changes changes after each save. Developers needs to solve this problem, after that it will be more usable.
