It can solve problems efficiently and silently, or it can create more. Plastic SCM is a distributed version control, but can work centralized too. It is excellent with branching and merging, can deal with huge projects and big binary assets natively, and it comes with GUIs and tools to make everything simpler. Also, I love the shelve feature, it saves my life a lot of time because sometimes, I don't want to upload my changes cause by I'm in a wrong branch, so I store the changes in the shelve, go to the correct branch and then, I can apply those changes in the correct branch. The sync between two Plastic servers works well but sometimes it fails (like I say below). We use two servers because We have two software factory, it helps in order to have a copy. **What do you dislike about Plastic SCM?** Well... sometimes the automatic merge does wrong merges. Also, you can not stop a merge operation and you have to continue until you finish all the merges. It would be great If I can cancel a merge and not modify my local files. Also, we have problems with the sync between two plastic servers because sometimes there is a "double head" and we can not sync until we resolve the "double head" **Recommendations to others considering Plastic SCM:** Great support and the GUI is great to control your software version. **What problems is Plastic SCM solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm the backend lead, we have to control the version of each person in the team. So Plastic helps to control every branch. Also, It has a nice and friendly GUI. ### 9. GLUON is a bit too simplified and we haven't really found a use for it yet. **What problems is Plastic SCM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Plastic SCM is easy product to teach to a new workers and it is also fast in moving the binary data. ### 10. It also has a very useful timeline of any created branch with their version along with a time tag. Mostly you'll use to create branches, merge with other branches and look out for controlling parallel developments. **What do you dislike about Plastic SCM?** The program is not very stable, when it works it's magnificient, but when it's not you'd like to have a few words with the creators because sometimes you can go crazy, for example any empty branch points to the source but any change and the graphical disposal of elements is suddenly the opposite as it was a few moments back. **Recommendations to others considering Plastic SCM:** It's not easy to use at first, but when you have it running it makes your group job a lot easier, most of all it's focused in version management but it also works for deploys in different environments once you tag any branch or **What problems is Plastic SCM solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving all environment issues, developed versions, compatibilities between parallel developments and also its merge functions are very useful when there are discrepencies between different versions of the same program. ### 11.
