ChangePoint is used by services organizations, including IT consulting, business consulting, high tech, and manufacturing companies, and is designed for VPs of Services, VPs of Finance, directors of consulting or services, resource management office (RMO) leaders, and PMO leadership who need real-time financial visibility into engagements rather than retrospective reporting after month-end close. A core architectural feature of ChangePoint is that it separates the financial contract, called an Engagement, from the project delivery mechanism, so billing rules and contract terms stay enforced independently of how a project is managed day to day. Main capabilities include: • Native CRM and opportunity management, with pipeline forecasting, resource demand signals, and product or service forecasting by line item • Engagement management that defines billing rates, contract terms, and revenue recognition rules separately from project delivery, supporting Fixed Fee, Time and Materials, and mixed billing types across multiple projects per engagement • Resource planning and management, including skills-based resource search, soft and hard bookings, and resource demand versus capacity analysis • Project and program management with a multi-level work breakdown structure, configurable stage-gate workflows, change and risk management, and bi-directional Microsoft Project integration • Time and expense management, plus billing and revenue recognition, including direct billing to clients or ERP systems, split billing, multi-currency invoicing, and embedded Cognos Analytics reporting ChangePoint is available as a SaaS or on-premises deployment and adapts to a customer's business model through approximately 300 configuration tables rather than custom code. It's fast and performs very well as a application. It does not take up a lot of backend memory which does not slow other running applications **What do you dislike about Planview ChangePoint?** Although planview changepoint is a fast application there are more options or features than required which makes a new user confusing to use it initially. Apart from this it's a good application **Recommendations to others considering Planview ChangePoint:** Good and wonderful application **What problems is Planview ChangePoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use planview changepoint application to manage our projects end to end. The best features would minute level planning with respect to listing down Requests for each project which encompass the time and estimated resources required to complete it. Then you can assign these requests to your project teams in which then can create their own Tasks and put in Time for these tasks week by week thus enabling you to track each request & its related Tasks easily. **What do you dislike about Planview ChangePoint?** The user interface for creating Projects using the The Compass PSA tool in Changepoint is very tedious to use. It take quite some time to put in all the details and then create Requests in each project. Also the reporting for each project can be improved by providing nice web views for each report created in Viewer. **What problems is Planview ChangePoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are mainly solving Tracking & mapping Resources & tasks in number of software development projects using Changepoint. It benefits us to report any progress on these requests in the project to our customers when they require, ### 4. I can quickly navigate, edit and make changes to my logging. **What do you dislike about Planview ChangePoint?** I dislike the ability to edit my hours after submitted. We have a deadline with our workplace for submission. That time should then be input to lock us out of edits after that time.
