The best features would minute level planning with respect to listing down Requests for each project which encompass the time and estimated resources required to complete it. Then you can assign these requests to your project teams in which then can create their own Tasks and put in Time for these tasks week by week thus enabling you to track each request & its related Tasks easily. **What do you dislike about Planview ChangePoint?** The user interface for creating Projects using the The Compass PSA tool in Changepoint is very tedious to use. It take quite some time to put in all the details and then create Requests in each project. Also the reporting for each project can be improved by providing nice web views for each report created in Viewer. **What problems is Planview ChangePoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are mainly solving Tracking & mapping Resources & tasks in number of software development projects using Changepoint. It benefits us to report any progress on these requests in the project to our customers when they require, ### 8. We have a deadline with our workplace for submission. That time should then be input to lock us out of edits after that time. We're now replacing it. **What do you dislike about Planview ChangePoint?** Lacks resource management capabilities to match supply (consultants) to demand (opportunities). Mobile is a nasty experience in our implementation. We built custom UI for mobile. Requires far too many non-billable resources to help manage data between CRM system and financial system. No self service capabilities for customers and project managers. Integration APIs do not work well. We had to re-write many of them to get data out of CP to other systems. **What problems is Planview ChangePoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Basic Professional services requirements for IT business and IT consulting company. It's all there, somewhere, and once you learn the product its more than capable. If your looking to cover all the bases Changepoint will do that for you. We managed to get around many of the limitations and get what we needed from the product but it wasn't easy. **What do you dislike about Planview ChangePoint?** The user interface is dated, inconsistent and buggy. Users find the product cumbersome and there a re a number of features that behave in unexpected ways. We developed workarounds and created a lot of our own reporting to counter the issues around the Report Builder. The user is presented with a myriad of fields to achieve simple tasks and while there is an ability to customize this the effort required outweighs the benefits. Attention to an improved user experience around time and expense entry and the project control features would improve the product considerably. The underlying data model makes reporting with other tools difficult and the Cognos layer provided suffers from many of the same issues. We got what we needed eventually and knew what to trust and what not too. Performance suffered from time to time and some of the reporting was slow as a consequence. **Recommendations to others considering Planview ChangePoint:** Look hard at the User Interface and ask your heavy users to trial it. From Consultant to Project and Program Management and onto Executive levels. **What problems is Planview ChangePoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Professional Services Management. Generally if there has been an issue with the performance of the hosted solution, it's been caused by one of our users running a report which was poorly designed; the outages are not Changepoint's fault but they respond instantly and remedy the issue. **What do you dislike about Planview ChangePoint?** Software can be very confusing to use and we have compatibility issues due to our corporation mandating which version of browsers we must use. Often we will have an upgrade of our browsers forced on us and learn that the Changepoint application has an issue. Instructions from Changepoint are to switch browsers, which we cannot do due to lack of control over our desktop software and settings. **Recommendations to others considering Planview ChangePoint:** Try to customize as little as possible and use the software exactly as Changepoint wants. Otherwise, the out-of-box reports will be useless. Documentation is only for where to click vs what's going on in the background and the ramifications of a click. Understanding the best practices is key and to do that, you must dedicate significant time and budget to work with a consultant experienced with Changepoint. Document everything you expect from your users and hide the clutter / features you aren't using. Expect maddening bugs - nothing is as simple as it seems, and don't work around the bugs, ask Changepoint for the proper approach for a workaround. **What problems is Planview ChangePoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Revenue and resource forecasting are our prime reasons for using Changepoint. We now can generate real-time views of our practice's health, though keeping the data up to date in Changepoint can be frustrating due to the complexity of the product and the various nuances needed to support 100+ people using software with poor documentation. ### 15. Once you learned about some of the quick tips/tricks, you could quickly maneuver through the ChangePoint is responsive - even when VPNing. **What do you dislike about Planview ChangePoint?** Forewarning: this was implemented ~10 years ago. The interface is lacking, takes you back to 90's IT era.
