  ### 5. Marketing Collaboration Experience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen provides a structured work flow for marketing projects that enables multiple users to collaborate on the deliverables and track progress. Overall, it achieves this goal well.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Perhaps not a dislike: Clarizen is focused on its marketing coordination features. Could it offer more supporting functionality for related needs of marketers? Perhaps, but that's not the intended goal of Clarizen, I would surmise. And that's fine. Focus on what you're good at.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Clarizen works well at least in a marketing-centric context with a marketing department interfacing with internal stakeholders to move forward marketing projects and deliverables. Understand that this is Clarizen's goal and mission - don't expect it to be something that it's not (it offers a social aspect, but let's face it, it's hard to achieve a decent % adoption company-wide without extensive promotion and buy in advocacy).

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarizen is used by my company's marketing department to coordinate marketing support requests from hundreds of employees. My experience with the system has been fairly straightforward and positive overall. And from what I know, our marketing department has no plans to drop Clarizen for another tool since it accomplishes its goal at least adequately.

  ### 6. Great for Project Management, not so great for other things

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

- Continuous upgrades to the product, adding useful features
- Really well designed reporting tool. Very useful and feature rich.
- Configurable to support more than just your project / program requirements (we are using it for helpdesk ticketing)
- Good time reporting / utilization capabilities.
- Good Resource Management capabilities

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

- Licensing (in general), is not budget friendly, compared with competitors
- While configurable to support more than just your project/ program management requirements, in hindsight, I would have stuck with just implementing project management and time management only.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Carefully consider your user licensing needs, that has been one of the biggest challenges with end-user (not department) adoption.
Look at your requirements carefully. They will promise a lot, but their core strength is project management.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been incredibly helpful for understanding time management/ resource management.
It is one of the primary reasons we've been able to greatly expand and been successful in our project management processes.

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like that I am able to see how my task is related to a bigger project and the other dependencies that are related to the project. It helps with transparencies and eliminating silos. Clarizen is can be completely custom based on your needs, which is great for large companies where certain team members handle certain tasks/projects.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It's very difficult to learn, there are a lot of buttons/clicks to get to where you need to go or to find certain things that are needed to complete your task. This could be because of how customized our instance is.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarizen is helping us provide transparency across our marketing department and it allows stakeholders to see where there are bottlenecks and areas/processes we can change for the better.

  ### 14. Project Manager

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

There is a slight lag in the hosted version. It hasn't been a huge problem, but it can be noticeable at times and does slow me down. I also wish there were more keyboard shortcuts available so that I could quickly perform data entry on project tasks without having to use the mouse to click.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project tracking, Resource loading, Reporting, creating visibility into Projects, Programs, & Portfolios.

Reporting is very easy to use. The stopwatch feature is awesome and helps with time tracking. Projects can be manipulated as needed and there's a better way to capacity plan.

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Ability to switch team members, define timelines and be able to see my portfolio of projects

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Doing reports in Clarizen seemed quite complicated

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to automate our reports and have more visibility into our projects. Benefits are that we have a deep view into our projects, timelines, dependencies, resources etc.

  ### 26. Unfriendly, overly busy interface, may be good for reports but not for user-friendliness

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** April M. | Audience Engagement Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2017

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

We use this at work for time sheets and it's easy to see weekly hours.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Not user friendly for the employee at least, should be able to easily see my own PTO usage etc, but not so.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

See if there is a more user-friendly option otherwise be sure your administrator sets it up as simply as possible (we had too many job codes to start with and have slimmed them down).

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reporting and accounting for client-billable hours.

  ### 27. Excellent Online Project Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2017

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like that it is easy to create and nest projects and milestones.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Reporting is not as robust. I would like to see a fully customizable reports module.

Clarizen can be used across all industries. Please make sure that it solves at least 90% of your specific needs.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2017

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It is very easy to enter projects and tasks into Clarizen. The email alerts are nice when something is due.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

We have had a few issues with tasks disappearing as well as our dates rearranging themselves. We have some customizations so that might be the issue.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to store all of our department tasks in one place. It makes it easy for any user to see what the team is accomplishing and what still has to be completed.

  ### 29. Clarizen enterprise PMO user

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen provided an intuitive portfolio view of all the projects in an organization. It was also easy to start new projects and collaborate with end users on projects and tasks.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The change management and roll out was too long. Basic reporting took too long to roll out and it was not accompanied with any training and ultimately was not useful.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Make sure you have a clear rollout plan for the software and that you have a clear path for change management. Having an organization that is project focused or familiar with the process of project planning and task management would be most helpful ensure success. Ideally a phased rollout with a couple of projects selected to be walked through the use of clarizen would likely lead to more success.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem was to get an enterprise portfolio view of all the projects in the organization. It did not receive these benefits and ultimately we made the decision to no longer use the software.

  ### 30. Clarizen User's Experience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen makes it quick and easy to keep track of time and projects.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Because of how granular it needs to be, sometimes it can be confusing to find the project to track time against. It can also be slow to respond, and some of the buttons seem to be hidden - you definitely have to do some searching to figure out how to complete a task.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

You have to have clear definitions for time-tracking categories in order to make them useful to your users.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time tracking and project tracking. The biggest realized benefit is having a source of truth for man hours on projects.

  ### 31. Best Cloud Based PM Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mimi B. | R & D Portfolio Business Capabilities, Pharmaceuticals, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Simple interface that integrates with SharePoint for visualizations. Easy export to Excel and MS Project. On-line learning through Clarizen University is top notch.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Not much to dislike. The reports could be a bit easier to customize by adding the ability too add more custom fields

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Project Management light. Easier than PM Project with very good tracking visuals.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our typical Pharmaceutical PM tools are very heavy and detail oriented. Clarizen offers a light touch version to track projects at a high level. The visualization in SharePoint allows top management to review in an easy format.

  ### 32. Time Tracking, Support Tickets and Expenses All in One Place

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mandy L. | Editor, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It's fantastic to have one program to use for so many functions. Clarizen is where I track my time, submit expense reports and requests for IT help and manage PTO requests.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It's not the easiest software to use and has a bit of a learning curve. There are so many aspects to it (it's so complicated) that it can take a long time to learn. Also, the interface is not the most intuitive and looks cluttered and complicated.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

You'll need to plan for a few training sessions when introducing new employees to Clarizen; it's not intuitive and takes a while to learn.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarizen allows my agency to track time spent on various agency projects and manage expenses related to those projects.

  ### 33. An effective PM software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Io H. | Merchant Launch Manager, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Ability to get very detailed and provide a lot of visibility into the different project steps

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The downside to 'very detailed' is the complexity that comes along with it

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Use templates!

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the problem of running multiple projects concurrently with a finite number of resources. Being able to track resource availability is a great help

  ### 34. Configurable, Customizable and Collaborative

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan D. | Director, Project Management Office, Insurance, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen is the best project portfolio management system that I've used and we've tried several other products in the past. I really enjoy the familiarity of the interface (anyone who uses social media feels right at home) but also the hidden depth with workflows and the InterAct engine.

If you can dream it up, Clarizen can likely do it with a few custom fields, custom workflows or a free app from the marketplace. The amount of customization that you can do to tailor the environment to work for you is amazing.

Nearly any view or screen you have setup in Clarizen can be shared with other users - even those without a Clarizen license. This capability is a real game changer for our ability to bring all of our users into the conversation, not just those with licenses.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen is not the cheapest solution out there - but it is worth what it costs

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Try out the product and attend some demonstration sessions - the product really sells itself and it is easy to see how you can utilize it.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are utilizing Clarizen for project portfolio management and for IT request intake and prioritization for all of our systems. We have realized a great improvement in efficiency, ease of tracking requests, and the ability to track resource utilization across all projects. The collaborative sharing capabilities are a huge plus for our business as well.

  ### 35. powerful and robust project management software

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

customizable features and powerful for large scale project management needs. really good for managing multiple projects and resources.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

built for the enterprise and hard to use for small, day-to-day projects, takes a while to on-board as it is not the most easy to use tool.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Obtain support for proper on-boarding to set your users up for success

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

managing multiple projects for work across internal and vendor teams.

  ### 36. Clarizen has improved our operations ten fold

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa S. | Manager of Process Improvement and Resourcing, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen is great out of the box but has a fantastic configuration platform. As a software design firm, we value flexibility and really know what the web can do for us, so it's nice to see that Clarizen has developed a platform that we can use to streamline our processes even further!

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Coming from an ERP system, the reporting was hard to ramp up on as it is very simple and straightforward, seems a bit backwards but it took awhile for me to wrap my brain around the simplicity. Where it could improve is reports on summarizing data, however, the excel plug-in can be used along with pivot tables for incredibly powerful results.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Definitely sign up for the trial and get as many people as possible to play with it. Also, the implementation package was a definite delight and if you have developers in your company, make sure that one of them sits in and learns how to use the configuration platform as it's very powerful and easiest for a developer to ramp up, but anyone can use it!

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No one likes to do timesheets, however, as a professional services firm, they critical to our business. Clarizen has made timesheets more accurate and quicker to get in, making invoicing run a lot smoother at the end of the month! We have also seen a great adoption from our project managers and functional managers, seeing when people become available easily as well as project data is now highly visible and easy to consume.

  ### 37. Clarizen Project Management - Powerful, Intuitive & Flexible - The perfect tool!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phil S. | Product Configurator, Automotive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen is so easy to use, the vast majority of our users were up and running within minutes with only a basic training session. The powerful social module incorporates in-context discussions within each project, even to a task level. Flexibility is a very strong feature, with easily customisable screens, without the expensive 'professional support' some solutions require. Equally Clarizen's App Marketplace has many modules you can deploy, most of which are free.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The only area I feel that Clarizen requires significant improvement is in reporting. While all the typical basic reporting is well covered and comprehensive, we have requirements for much more complex reports that are not achievable using the reporting tool. Having said that it is so easy to export data from the system, we have developed these reports outside the solution using standard programs.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Clarizen is a great solution, feature rich and extremely flexible. With this level of flexibility I would suggest anyone considering Clarizen ensures they know what they are trying to achieve, though the Clarizen team are very good at assisting in identifying this with you.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to deploying Clarizen, we managed our projects using a mix of MS products (Project, Excel etc.) as our portfolio of projects grew this became increasingly unstable and unsustainable. Deploying a full featured PPM solution has enabled us to easily see a real-time overview of our projects, both in terms of progress and in effort. Time reporting has also been included with a custom module developed specifically to meet our requirements.

  ### 38. Highly Configurable SaaS Tool with Great Overall Value

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason B. | Senior Implementation Manager, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2014

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The Clarizen tool is likely the most configurable SaaS tool available in the PPM world - especially when it comes to the user interface. Meeting a company's need for custom fields & workflows to support unique processes is a major selling point of the tool.
Training and support for the tool is nearly unprecedented - there is high involvement from Clarizen staff to ensure both Administrators & End-Users have the assistance they need to utilize the breadth and depth of the offering in both a highly usable & highly available manner.
I believe one of Clarizen's strongest points of appeal is that it seems to be able to uniquely meet the needs of the SMB all the way up to true enterprise requirements for PMO's.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

While V6 has brought with it a phenomenal amount of customization of the entire UI, I think there is a need for Clarizen to strike a better balance between providing more pre-configured interface & workflow options for those organizations that don't need that level customization, as it can be overwhelming.

Though it's understandable from the need to "support" the infrastructure (and from a revenue perspective, I'm sure), I think the current licensing limitations on workflow rules, but more importantly custom field creation, as well as the process by which those limitations are "calculated" is a little convoluted.

While mobile app is is fantastics, it's only available for Apple products and not for Android users, so for us, doesn't really provide any value (the supported Android app is the old mobile app and isn't very useful).

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Clarizen has a ton of customization, but there a number of things that you'd expect to be able to do out-of-the-box that have to be setup via the customization/configuration settings. That being said, don't even bother with the Professional-level licensing, as you only a get a few customizations.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Clarizen tool has greatly increased not only the visibility of projects across our internal organization, but has been able to allow us to provide better, more consistent project visibility to our customers as well.
Having a single place that is accessible on-demand for managing projects across our team has been a huge gain in efficiency.

  ### 39. Powerful and flexible

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen lets me work the way I want to. At the core, it is a powerful PSA solution yet it highly configurable and allows me to create custom workflows, custom fields and validation rules to ensure we are supporting our business requirements.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The reporting module needs some work. Most of the standard reports are not editable therefore they have little value as we regularly need to modify reports to include specific information. Also, my biggest pet peeve is that the columns in views are not "sticky" They seem to have a mind of their own. Some columns display much larger than needed while others are significantly minimized. If Clarizen fixed one thing this would be it, from my perspective.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Don't under estimate the level of effort to implement Clarizen. Out of the box you can get the Clarizen solution up and going quickly, however to leverage the full capabilities of the solution takes significant planning and implementation. Leverage the wealth of information that Clarizen provides. The "office hours" seminars are excellent for asking questions and configuring your environment.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improved consistency of delivery across our project portfolio. Improved visibility of all project activities. Key performance indicators to allow us to effectively manage our business and drive ongoing improvements.

  ### 40. Excellent Time Tracking and Client Accountability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer P. | Director of Project Management, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Utilizing Clarizen, I can easily share project plans with my client. The ability to store all communication transmitted to the client via email is fantastic as well. It's nice to have one repository for all my information. Clarizen offers a robust select of canned reporting with the ability to customize if needed.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

New to the application but, no dislikes at the moment.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Clarizen, I have the ability to engage the client and hold them more accountable for their tasks. I also have the ability to closely monitor PM's and track any risks associated with projects.

  ### 41. Clarizen for Project Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimberly C. | Sr. Implementation Manager, Pharmaceuticals, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2015

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Key features that we use: Salesforce integration; document or file management integration with Box; social collaboration; dashboards; automated notifications; work flow rules; customer collaborator feature; scheduled reports; project highlight reports; Gantt Chart and Road map widgets; customizable app plug-ins; and customizations galore.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Areas for improvement: Out of the box Clarizen offers "canned reports" but it was not easy to learn how to create the customized reports that I needed for my business unit. It would have been nice to have a report suite that contained examples tied to a business question or objective in order to better understand the application and use of the canned or dashboards reports. The Salesforce integration model did not provide the level of API security that our IT Security team required. The tool did not offer the data file security required by our IT Security team to use the Clarizen standard data file management features so we had to integrate with Box for file managemen

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MedImpact is a Pharmacy Benefits Management company with about 1001 to 5000 employees. Clarizen was selected to be the Project Management tool for the Implementation Services business unit. The Implementation Services team did not have a cohesive way to manage the New Client implementation projects. The existing tools and manual processes limited the capacity of new client projects that the business unit could accommodate and made it difficult to track down related emails, files, and decisions. If our sales teams have a really good year we would exceed our capacity to implement new business. For sustainability we had to move out of the dark ages of project management, Clarizen was our “light at the end of a tunnel”. Clarizen offers the best of social media, project management principles, work-flow automation, and an intuitive user interface design. Clarizen “Partners” with you to provide the best the tool can offer to improve your daily operations and reduce manual processes. The Clarizen Customer Success Team provides the best support and guidance that I have seen in years. This growing company is setting the bar for business to business relationships and project management solutions. While this tool was selected for one small business unit we are expecting that the tool will be used by many other business units as the versatility of the tool can accommodate their project management business needs.

  ### 42. No other option

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John T. | Time & Attendance Team Lead, Human Resources, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The user friendliness of Clarizen can not be beat. Recently, our company moved to Clarizen for project tracking and the transition couldn't have been easier. Employees rave about the ease of the system.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

If i had to choose, the disconnect between Projects and tasks on the same view.
It would be nice to have these without the need of workflows to integrate them.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Very easy system to use. Fully configurable and great support.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarizen gives our employees a method to track projects and complete tasks while implementing our clients.
It simplifies the implementation and keeps employees organized.

  ### 43. Clarizen and Portfolio and Project Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen provides almost every capability required for project and portfolio management. It is an extremely friendly configurable product. The ability to add custom fields, custom actions and workflow rules allow you to make the product fit for your organization. The help and support methodology that Clarizen provides suites almost every learner, but my favorite is the webinars (which is "free consulting").

Every month / quarter you can expect something new and useful to be rolled out by the product team. The Reports and Dashboard capability they provided last year was excellent.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Templates are a little difficult to manage. You create a project and then save it as a template. You cannot modify the template after saving it without creating a new project from the template or save the original project (which has a risk that the saved project may get updated and now not match the template.

The second dislike is that tasks are managed by work, duration or unit. In our business the templates define tasks by work and duration. There is no easy way to ensure these fields stay locked and when assigning resources to a task the work can get way overstated.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

I use a commercial phrase I remember "Try it you'll like it!"

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At this point we are establishing the foundation for the benefits we we realize in the near future. All of our projects are now being managed within 2 of our portfolios. Using dashboards we can easily see a top level to the business. We have designed them for all levels of the business (Portfolio Director, Project Manager, Functional Manager, Engineer). Our Labs are also managing all of the requests and have improved on the communication and delivery of the requests.

  ### 44. Clarizen Project Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeffrey D. | Director of Operations, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2015

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Lots of customization, tons of data, and a SQL-like API. The support crew is amazing. Hands-down the best, on par with Rackspace.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I wish it was cheaper. Or had more flexible options for purchasing. It's not bad, but who doesn't want cheaper stuff? The lack of a canned process for rookie project managers is a hurdle. You'll want to train some people on Project Management skills before/while implementing Clarizen.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Train your staff in project management alongside rolling out Clarizen. It won't teach you. It won't give you a process to go by. It will give you tons of options and customization you can use to make it work for you.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We moved from a basic time-tracking app to Clarizen. Now we can make decision based on hard data, and not have to deep-dive to do it. Before, obligations were being skipped and now employees get a clear list of things to accomplish, timeframes to do them in, and a project to hold it all and sum it up. We get reporting, and details via the API, too. There's a ton of customization we leverage to make it fit our process, in a good way. Managers have crystal clear visibility to the status of the projects. Time gets entered on time, and tasks get accomplished on time. Before, the lack of visibility meant we often didn't know until it was far too late.

  ### 45. PM Usage of Clarizen

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Decent out-of-box setup and intuitive configurability. Relatively good support. Good workflow setup. Integration with other systems is possible

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Slow to load, cannot expand all project milestones/tasks in one click - HUGE issue. Massively inefficient

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PM tracking for budget, schedule and scope, PTO tracking per resource, resourcing

  ### 46. More flexible than MS Project & Integrates well with Salesforce

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

We can build our own business rules and processes. Reporting has improved substantially in the last year. We stood up Clarizen quickly and have been able to evolve it's capabilities as our team has grown. It also has significant SFDC integration.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

We'd always like more reporting options and more custom workflow options because we're looking to push the tool further. To Clarizen's credit they've continued to enhance these areas over the last two years.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Focus on aligning your use cases to Clarizen's capabilities. Understand which integrations you'd want to launch with. Leverage Clarizen's services teams. Ask a lot of questions on how project and task level settings (like actual effort tracking, reportable items, etc) will impact your configuration.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running our professional services business. We have strong end-to-end visibility from the time we close our sale to delivery to measuring results afterwards.

  ### 47. Best decision for an online PM system!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee S. | VP of Operations, Translation and Localization, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2015

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen exceeded each of our requirements!
I liked best its user friendliness, flexibility (which allowed us to customize the system to fit exactly to our needs), and the fact that Clarizen integrates with other systems. We already had a CRM for our sales divisions and an ERP system for our Finance, so we had to find a solution that will integrate with these two, and we deployed Clarizen at the heart of our work environment.
Last but not least - their service and support is one of kind!

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It doesn't know to make coffee..... ;-)

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Clarizen for all project's task management, time reporting, budget tracking, deadlines and communication. The flexibility of the system, which allowed us to customize a database of translators according to our special requirements - is amazing! and the greatest benefit is the time saving and efficiency we gained by integrating Clarizen with our Finance ERP. Not only we get a real-time information now, but we also saved a lot of time by automating our processes (for example: issuing POs and invoices approval process is done using Clarizen and saved hundreds of hours per year!).

  ### 48. Great Project Management Software with Automated Notifications and Workflow Options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2016

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The collaboration features are very good. As a manager or team leader, it makes it very simple to receive project notifications in your email without having to log into the system. Also, Clarizen makes it very easy to house all project documentation in one location, preventing the need to spread it between systems. Lastly, Clarizen has improved our billing and time tracking since we can record our timesheets directly to the project tasks.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen has recently begun investing in reporting and dashboarding, but there are still a few downfalls. The current ones are quite good, but can be limiting when looking across modules/tables (i.e. projects, timesheet, tasks, etc.) Also, the formatting on the Excel exports could be improved for "data dumps". They currently require some manual manipulation before analysis.

Also, their Customer feature could use some improvements. When you are tracking project information, you commonly want to do analysis on your customers from a sales and marketing perspective. Improved CRM type features would be welcomed.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

You maximize the benefits by trying to employ as much of the functionality as you can. Also, before you build a custom field or process, review the stock ones to avoid duplication. We did most of the implementation ourselves, and made this mistake which caused some clean up after the fact.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems solved:
Eliminated and improved upon disparate systems for project status, timekeeping, and documentation.

Benefits:
1. Real Time Project Status
2. More Accurate Billing
3. Better Management Reporting

  ### 49. Best In Class

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff S. | Director, Project Management, Outsourcing/Offshoring, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2015

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clairzen is a robust cloud based project management software for the collaboration age. The flexibility to adapt and mold your instance to suit the individual business needs is extraordinary. Clarizen has provided a more efficient way to manage our projects while reducing key detractors such as meeting times, project lengths, etc.

Of all the tools in the enterprise Clarizen affords any company the needed flexibility to have the software work for you not against you.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen can be cumbersome for end users; in the current v6 version through all the customization the instance has lost major screen real estate and or functionality. No longer is the tool as simple as it once was which is a major pain point for new users of the application.

Additionally; Clarizen can be complicated when it comes to customization needed; experience in html programming is necessary or reliance on Clarizen increases tremendously.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More efficient project execution - Through a collaborative enviornment project managers no longer have to wait for a meeting.
Resource capacity planning - Visibility into individual project manager load is not a real and tangible item
Executive Updates - Gone are the days of ppt. slides or ad-hoc reports - system generated dashboards and reporting are now providing actionable information

  ### 50. Clarizen: Quite simply - The future,,,,,,,

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gareth B. | Senior EDI Programmer/Analyst, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2015

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Pros:

+ Excellent Project & Work Item management.
+ Powerful Enterprise discussion module which link into everything Clarizen does, from Projects to issues.
+ A customisation engine to build custom workflows, fields, views and even your own HTML/Javascript front end panels (for your own Forms etc).
+ Reporting and Dashboards, again with custom reporting.
+ A best-of-class Customer Services and community and quick responses.
+ A public product Roadmap which you can contribute to, with regular releases with new functionality.
+ Rich API for developers to hook into.
+ Growing community of Clarizen users and an App Marketplace of customisations, built using Clarizens own custom engine.
+ Collaboration extends to users outside of Clarizen itself (Sharing reports & widgets).

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Cons:

- Clarizen sells Agile support. Yes there is a Team board, burndown charts etc, but the implementation is not good.
- The amount of options available can be overwhelming until you have got to grips with the product.
- Security groups within Clarizen needs to be out of the box and not a custom workflow. At the moment, there isnt a simple way of creating confidential Projects.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

You cannot beat this product, the products team who support it. Of course there are negatives (no one is perfect), but the goodness just oozes from it - so who cares.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

* Allowing our geo-located teams to work together.
* Resource management and forecasting.
* Interactive reports instead of static powerpoint slides.
