It provides the capability to eliminate building new projects by providing templates and basic building blocks. Custom report can be made and circulated across the team as a template which they can use further to build their own documentation on it.  It provides feature of collaborative notes by tagging a team member by using @team_members while adding notes. This helps in keeping record of conversation for future. It has features for time tracking future workload forecasting as well. It has flexibility to collaborate with Salesforce and other similar tools. It is very flexible and customization friendly to meet user needs. **What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?** It does not provide feature to track management request on hourly basis. It does not provide functionality to Automatically allocate requests or track requests based on FIFO methodology. It is not possible to transform the dashboard of the reports into the PPT. It has a project portfolio management, one of the most complete in any project management software. The software has a lot of flexibility and is easy to learn how to use. The lower licenses present shortages in some tools, but that is understandable. Clarizen One has easily customizable templates, you can make reports and share them, very useful collaborative notes to make specific annotations of each project and also are constantly making real-time updates that further optimize its operation is also very important to add that it is a platform easy to learn. **What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?** It does not have a free version that allows you to test the application first hand, some options are usually very automatic and can throw errors, it does not have a tracking function for hourly management requests another deficiency is that you cannot convert the reporting panel into PPT, assigning or tracking a request on a FIFO basis is impossible and finally some of your plans can be somewhat costly. **Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:** I do not recommend Clarizen One in teams that are used to using MS Project as they are similar but it can be a real problem when exporting some documents, it is very useful to share information with your team and manage internal projects, it can be perfect for staff with little experience in managing small or medium projects as its operation is quite simple I would also recommend to see very well the different plans offered because some are very expensive and do not differentiate. **What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?** Within the department where I work Clarizen One is a useful tool for managing customer projects, allows us to find the cost, scope and time of the project as well as make a record of it, all information we collect on the project contacts are organized by color codes with notes that allow us to know first hand the content of each, the operation of Clarizen within my organization has given us more and enhanced our performance. ### 44. It is a powerful tool that contains a lot of bells and whistles so consider what of each feature you need to implement day 1 versus down the road. **What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a consistent way to approach our project work and with the Clarizen Project Templates feature we're able to quickly accomplish that while still being able to customize each plan to the unique needs of the project. It allows our organization to minimize bolt-on solutions for things like time logging and capacity review as well. ### 45. It has a simple interface that adapts very easily to the user's needs and makes the task management processes much more agile. The strength of this platform is the project portfolio management for which it is ideal, they are always updating their platform to improve its functionality and they have a very professional technical support. **What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?** Clarizen One experiences some problems such as lack of reporting tools the software tries to try and cover this deficiency with updates but at a still a bit insufficient to differences from other platforms, for some companies Clarizen One can be expensive as it has a price of 45$ each user per month also some functions are too robotic finally Clarizen does not have the function to track and assign requests automatically on a FIFO basis. **Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:** I recommend Clarizen's software for companies that have a heavy and continuous workflow as this platform is very automated and allows for multiple tasks to be done at the same time. Another point is that since Clarizen has really similar PM tools, MS Project would recommend that you first prepare your staff before using this platform as it can make it really complicated to adopt this software in large or diverse organizations in order to get the most out of it. **What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use clarizen in many of the departments within my organization as it is a very versatile tool that can be worked with in conjunction with salesforce and other tools, our information systems department also makes use of clarizen tools to support changes in manufacturing applications we manage different application projects, time management, application support, resources and change requests another use is time tracking that allows us to have information that is important for project management. ### 47. You know when you look up and smile and earnestly mean, "This is just what I wanted!" Yeah, it's like that! If you are an Agile practitioner, and I favor Scrum, it does all the things that are most important to you and it does it with style. Yes, Jira can do the job, but it's not as fun, and its missing some very clever features Clarizen Go knocks out of the park. I love it. To give you a little background, I am a Scrum practitioner, and I follow the Scrum practices pretty closely. For the last year, I have been bringing a development team into the Agile world, and we have been using a whiteboard (Scrumboard) and stickies. Yes, the team reaped the rewards of Scrum; they were more successful, produced better products, and had happier customers. A week (no kidding) before the latest version of Clarizen Go was unveiled to me, I held a SWOT analysis (attended by the CIO, Sr. Managers, and the developers) to determine how our process was working. SWOT OF OUR PRIOR STICKY NOTE SCRUM SOLUTION The strengths were what you would imagine (this is just a sub-set): o Organized Process o Improved communication o Greater flexibility o We come together and work out misunderstandings o Appreciation for what each group does o Daily stand-ups are very helpful Weaknesses (again, a subset): o Post-It Notes are not enough to fully document requirements o We are not really capturing acceptance criteria o Scrumboard meetings are disruptive to other staff Following the meeting, I started building out in Jira, recognizing that an e-tool could address the three biggest weaknesses identified. Then Clarizen calls me, and tells me that the one showstopper I had for their GO product (no story points) was resolved and now story points are supported. I got the demo and saw that Go could meet the three main weaknesses we identified and it was fun to use. So now, we can: • Capture detailed requirements and acceptance criteria for every user story. • Replicate the simple look/feel and drag & drop of a sticky note board (so everyone gets it). • Run the whole thing in a conference room with a screen without disturbing others. (Actually, I rolled in a mobile screen into my office and we gather there with the door shut.) I also like that during the Scrum I can capture updates in the discussion board for each story and the time spent by team members the day prior. I am a fan. **What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?** This is a new product. It functions much better than most products that just hit the marketplace. Because it is new, there are still a few issues. For me the biggest one is that Burn-Up / Burn-Down and Velocity are all calculated by # of TASKS and not by Story Points. (I understand they are working on that.) Reporting is light, and though it is CRITICAL that they DO NOT over-engineer this product, there should be some reports that allow for reporting across multiple workspaces (projects). Also, we need the capability to group projects by portfolio or program. However, Clarizen MUST make sure that they DO NOT incorporate every feature they dream up or is requested. The beauty of this solution is its simplicity and deviation from this risks straying from the core concepts of the Agile Manifesto. It is critical that this product not be over-engineered. **Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:** Honestly, I would ask for a trial. See if you like it. See if you think the features are there that you need. Expect a product that provides the features to be extremely valuable, but without being over-engineered. **What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?** Also, I have one last note for Clarizen Go Scrum Masters (customers). You will have to be savvy when running your standups. There will be a temptation to go deep into each user story because Clarizen Go makes it so easy. You will find that you can easily blow past the 15 minute mark for the daily scrum. One way I slow it down (bad thing), is that I find it useful to get your dev team to report time worked on the user story each scrum and easily record it then and there (good thing). I won't give that up, so it's a balance. ### 49. Most PPM solution leaders claim to be the market leader and the best on every attribute, while Clarizen is clearly meant to be a PPM /Work management solution instead of a CRM or ERP replacement, and actively recommends reaching out to other vendors for desired enhanced functionality. Rather than try to cover all scenarios, Clarizen keeps a very basic standardized UI- for specific uses, there is likely an application to download or a Clarizen Success support article that covers what is needed. **What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?** Documentation is not consistent, both on needed configuration variables and staying updated on with which tools are being retired- it is confusing to see suggested solutions but not being able to navigate to them within Clarizen One. These hidden details are effectively blocked by default from users needing advanced functions, making vendor training mandatory to reach optimal configuration success. Out of the box reporting functionality is very elementary and integrating with analytics or data warehousing requires a lot of time and persistence to get the Clarizen CSM's attention to walk through the steps properly, often which are not available in Clarizen Success Site. Technical expertise is stretched across the entire Clarizen network making getting individual one-on-one attention with the right person a challenging task. **Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:** Consider current business processes in the organization and verify the target end goal: to simplify processes (Clarizen One) or be comprehensive (seek alternative tool)? Effort to make a simplified comprehensive tool is akin to forcing a round peg into a square hole: very painful process. **What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?** The client needs support with demand intake functionality currently being done manually via a legacy system that does not scale well to the size of the organization. Using Clarizen One simplifies business processes while automating the entire business workflow to benefit the organization. ### 50.
