## Planview AdaptiveWork Reviews
  ### 1. Clarizen works really well for making sure I stay on track at work.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Being able to visually see all of my tasks in order that they're due, so that way I know I'm not missing anything.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

There are a couple functions that are still a bit glitchy and/or confusing at first. But they normally don't bother me!

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

If you're needing a way to manage your work tasks, this is probably one of the best services out there. It helps you organize when to start a task and complete it, and lets you see it all visually. It's great for in-house team use to keep everything organized!

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping my managers up to date on my progress, and keeping myself from missing any important steps along the way. I've realized just how much I love knowing when I actually need to start working on an assignment, since it won't notify me until the previous person has done their part! That way I'm not worried that I should be doing something when I can't yet.

  ### 2. Clarizen was very important for improving project portfolio management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paulo R. | Engenheiro Mecânico, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The ease of creating and distributing tasks, and monitoring the progress of the project is very practical. The location of tasks and project information is also a very good and easy-to-work-with feature. We also like the fact that Clarizen works through the PC browser without requiring installations and can be accessed from anywhere. The ability to customize screens and fields was very interesting because we can tailor the system to the characteristics that the company needs.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Sometimes, it takes a while to update the data entered in Clarizen, some functionalities stop working and at another moment it returns to normal.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

With a small team, we manage to handle dozens of projects, interconnecting resources and their activities. As we work with a small team, resources are shared among the projects; in this case, the activity sequencing management and prioritization of Clarizen assist the team member in this control.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The management of multiple projects was the main problem we solved with Clarizen. We also had better performance with project cost estimation from the time tracking of employees on tasks. Since we have resources involved in various projects, Clarizen's task management helped a lot in this regard, as the employee is involved in many projects and it was very complicated to determine the progress of all activities.

  ### 3. Clarizen Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy R. | Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It is customizable, but also has a lot of great features right out of the box. Time reporting for tasks is easy, and tracking progress on projects is easy as well. It's easy to see project flow and have visibility to where projects are at during the process. The reporting features are easy to use too. Support is great and very helpful and have come onsite to help us solve some of our pain points.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It's cumbersome to update data en masse. If I want to update a single field with different values for many projects, I have to do it individually. It's also difficult to set up complex rules because there are caps on how many rules can build on top on each other. Would also be nice if it you could just press a button at the top of a project and automatically create a burndown chart and status report that's fully customizable to our needs in our organization.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Make sure you do your research on what your companies requirements are for a project and/or portfolio management tool. It may be too robust for certain companies/cultures.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to track projects at any level of granularity and we are able to prioritize projects based on various scores and statuses we were able to set up in the backend. We have been able to bring our business sponsors in to participate in the process more by actually using Clarizen themselves to submit work to our backlog for review and possible inclusion into the appropriate portfolio.

  ### 4. We use Clarizen daily to manage multiple projects across multiple teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roger M. | Digital Strategy Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The visibility the tool gives to everyone working a project a project. The tool allows us the see all the tasks at a glance, see what tasks are falling behind and the impact that has on contingent tasks.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Attachments can be difficult to track down at times. Some users place them at the top level of a project, others appear hidden within a specific task in the project.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Develop a standard process so all team members use the tool the same way and hold users accountable to deadlines.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are an large enterprise organization with teams of people dispersed across the globe. Clarizen brings the key people working on these projects together in one system, reducing the collaboration problems of a globalized team.

  ### 5. Clarizen is a highly customizable tool that helps PS organizations get things done

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen is really flexible and customizable which makes it easy to tailor to our organizational needs. Working with the Clarizen team has also been really smooth - I can solve many issues via Clarizen success or office hours or through my CSM.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

There are a lot of small issues with the system (like the template object not linking directly to templates, or having 0h tasks messes up the % complete calculation, or not showing utilization target history) We've been able to work around them but they are a bit of a nuisance. Our integration with salesforce is also not very stable.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using it to support our very quickly growing PS organization and it's great at being adaptive to our evolving needs. We are able to use it to track progress on our projects through hours burned which then translates to revenue for us. We can also track our consultants in the system and easily assign out projects.

  ### 6. Versitile

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like the customization aspect of Clarizen

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Might be a little complicated to learn at first.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Define what you need at first, then compare your needs to what Clarizen offers. Clarizen is great for project and task management. It is highly customization to fit your needs.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project management, reporting, centralization

  ### 7. Good product with a lot of support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The service provided by the Customer success manager is the most important part of our Clarizen experience, we have a lot of change requests during the year as it's our enterprise tool for Timesheeting, Approval of timesheets, Reporting of timesheet data, Financial and resource planning.
We have a lot of custom fields which we find really useful especially the ability to have calculated fields and also have drop downs, toggles and dependant fields which can work in conjunction with other fields.
We have a lot of users who are now using the Application to manage their project information but uses Jira to manage their project from day to day tasks, we may need to reconsider the integration with Jira to manage those tasks in Clarizen

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Inability to find missing timesheets in an easy way
No Single Sign on for Slack which is available for use but without SSO it is difficult for users to sign in and a potential security issue
For integrations, the available API has limited documentation

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Take your time to set up Clarizen one to cater for your organisations current needs, then review the existing configuration on an ongoing basis to scale up appropriately using support from your CSM or scale down in order to not over complicate your instance.
Also, try to avoid custom fields if necessary and if you aren't using a workflow, disable it.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Custom Executive requests
Managing multiple rates
Timesheeting
Project database
People database
Financial Reporting

  ### 8. Clarizen for Project Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I really like being able to track projects and tasks efficiently. Setting up a project is easy, and the dashboards make it simple to resolve issues and address errors. It's a great way to keep teams on track.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

We use Microsoft 365 so it would be great if Clarizen was better integrated with the Microsoft platform. Right now we have to leave MS to go to Clarizen, and it doesn't work well with SharePoint or Teams.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Understand the level of change required to transition to Clarizen, and be sure to get input from your users before configuration. I suggest a building block training approach. Train users on foundational skills, then build up to more advanced use.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarizen is helping us keep our projects on track as well as see actual time and resource needs. It also allows our managers an "at a glance" view of their team's progress and productivity.

  ### 9. Comprehensive Suite of Project Management Functionality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phil D. | Enterprise Solutions Team Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen provides extreme customization capabilities throughout the platform at various levels. Tasks, Projects, Customers, Profiles, Views, User Groups etc are all built with extensive fields available to build automated routines and personalized dashboards right for various teams at our company.

And, in general, it's an extremely powerful tool when utilized correctly. We have hundreds of clients' projects live within the platform and over 100+ daily users. Our previous solutions were incredibly labor intensive for the system admins and managers to keep things organized, but Clarizen allows for lots of customization that adapts the tools to our processes rather than vice versa.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

There are two primary issues that I have with the tool.

The first is that it has a fairly steep learning curve for your average users (team members and managers alike). Even with employees that have been on systems like Jira and various project management systems in the past, we have to conduct extensive internal training to get them up to speed. That said, once they know it, they know it pretty well and it DOES help productivity.

Second, as a power user that is often in charge of compiling dashboards and reports—especially for time logs—Clarizen has a weakness of not being extensively time aware. For example, you're not going to be able to build native reports to analyze monthly utilization on a user-by-user basis. It just doesn't have the capabilities to factor in things like Workable Hours, PTO, and Holidays into reports. This alone getting fixed would solve a LOT of manual compilation issues on our end.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scalability and monthly transitions for projects are far more efficient than they ever were on previous platforms. A lot of legwork went into getting the platform ready for our teams, but once we did it has kept our specialists more organized and accountable, and our managers better enabled to spot issues with productivity, project progress, and more.

  ### 10. Clarizen Review 2019

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like being able to track my projects through the comments, and the email updates help keep me on track throughout the day.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I wish there was a way to break down the dashboard by categories. When i have a lot of projects in the works it is overwhelming to have this giant list to go through first. Also sometimes the most recent comments are not at the top and for some reason.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Clarizen is a great way to track and manage projects, but truthfully get a full training for your team to utilize all tools. I feel the lack of training on how to use clarizen has made some people not like using it, but we are not truly using it to its full potential.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping projects up to date and it allows me to track what has been done and what i can refer back to if needed.

  ### 11. Handy Time Tracking & Hours Reporting Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

As a consultant, it’s important for me to correctly track my time spent towards each client. Clarizen makes it easy to do that by client, project, day and task. The reporting capabilities makes that information useful both internally for billing and utilization purposes but also externally for hours updates and project statuses.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

With pages of tasks to write time into it can sometimes happen where time is attributed to the wrong line. A bolder highlight of the line in question could be useful. Or more importantly, the ability to move individual time sheets from task to task to correct mistakes upon review. And allow federated authorization login users to do so using the mobile app, not just the desktop version!

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Discussions to help align the team internally on open items against a project. The different threads with action call outs/mentions have allowed us to move away from a second technology we had that accomplished this.

  ### 12. Very useful tool for capturing timelines

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like the style of the gantt charts, the ability to capture risks, actions, issues, and decision, and the dashboards which can give reports of the status of the project very well.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I wish the road map was able to be exported to other mediums for communication. Exporting the whole timeline is useful, but key stakeholders don’t usually want detailed timelines, they want an overview of how the milestones are laid out and estimated time of completion for the project

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have made clarizen the single source of truth across the company, so it solved the problem of many people having different versions of the status of a project or program. It also provided insight on what decisions are being made at a project level, what needs to be escalated, and who the responsible parties are. Holding resources accountable to a project/program has been a tremendous benefit to our organization.

  ### 13. Very helpful!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen has been instrumental in helping us manage and keep track of all the details of the projects and tasks for our Marketing department. it easily enables me, as project manager, to edit tasks and resources as needed throughout the lifetime of each project. The template feature is a huge help as our projects are very repetitive in nature.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

One issue we have in our department is the lack of ability for users to see other people's tasks in order to know how their task fits into the overall picture. This lack of visibility leads to issues with attaching documents and notes that everyone can access - it has required me, as project manager, to attach the note or document to every individual task since our users don't have access to the whole project.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarizen has enabled us to manage several hundred projects each year and keep track of the status of each deliverable in order to ensure our messages go out to donors on time.

  ### 14. Customizable but not easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like the customization features and automation possibilities

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

There are a lot of handful of good features:
- reporting
- slide publisher
- resource utilization
 BUT
In order to have good use of these, I always need help from our TAM to find out a solution rather then having it ready in the box... as all of these features always missing something. For example, we started using slide publisher but turns out it can report resource load. Same with reporting. Started using scheduled workflow, but when setting up a condition I need help...

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Clarizen One is an all-in one tool for project management. It is highly customizable and easy to use after everything is set correctly. Professional services and TAMs are best-in class to help you.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage all projects with Clarizen One and its a good source of information for everybody.

  ### 15. Experience with Clarizen

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matheus E. | Matheus Portela, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Ease of project control, with great advantages regarding the displays. Various types of charts for visualization, easy and quick understanding, the wide range of available displays greatly aids in the control and visualization of projects.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Not very intuitive to use, it takes some time to get used to the interface, it requires a bit more intensive training to start becoming practical.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Extremely comprehensive system for all project management, easy to implement, intuitive charts, and great interface for inter-departmental relationships within the company.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Control of project schedules and deadlines are being widely resolved, as well as the sending of various files to the affected sectors.

  ### 16. Perfect for Inter-organizational Cooperation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like the social aspect, makes talking to Project Managers and other teams working on the same project much easier. The integration with Salesforce makes calculating costs a breeze and the customizability of Clarizen for different fields of work is undefeated.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Sometimes it takes a while to load pages or certain aspects of the platform will not work at times, but the support team is always quick to fix issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Work with support to ensure that you integrate any and all necessary softwares your particular industry uses often. Clarizen has support for an almost endless amount of software and the integration makes life easier for all teams.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems of accountability when working on projects with many poeple are easily solved with Clarizens progress percentages for tasks and milestones.

  ### 17. Fluid project management tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah D. | Marketing Manager, Developer Relations , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The stages of a project are super helpful and keeps each party accountable for where we are in the process.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The variety of "due dates" can be very confusing and can make it difficult to determine when something is actually due.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Clarizen we've been able to have more meaningful discussions based on discussion thread back and forth about at what stage it actually makes the most sense for my team (social media) to start promoting an asset/event based on what's required to come before us.

  ### 18. A Key to My Organization and Accountability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I enjoy how Clarizen has such a flexible resource forecasting feature, that ultimately informs project timelines/budgets and overall capacity numbers across our team.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

This is a very small thing, but I wish that when you submit time for a project in Clarizen where you are also the time approver, it would be auto-approved rather than making you approve the time you just submitted.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Make sure you share feedback with your company's Clarizen Admin. We've seen Clarizen make improvements based on feedback, particularly pertaining to the resource forecasting algorithms and options.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're standardizing and more accurately distributing team capacity, better forecasting revenue and project risks that may come from deviating budget/timeline, and developing more consistent processes for resource requesting, milestone tracking, and more.

  ### 19. Good Project Management Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It helps our organization work across teams to ensure that everyone is on the same page when it comes to where a project is in its life cycle and is highly customizable to our individual business. It also allows us to track when users haven't updated project information and send out requests that they do so.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The only downside to Clarizen is that it can lag a little when updating information, you have to refresh it since it is web based, but it being web based far out weighs this downside as it allows people to update information in real time.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have solved our ability to track project life cycles which is critical to our reporting needs for our business.

  ### 20. Clarizen is key to helping me keep my projects on track.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like the clean interface that is not complicated nor intimidating to use. It is great to be able to incorporate all aspect of my projects in one place. I allows my manager to see details and project progress.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like the clean interface that is not complicated nor intimidating to use. It is great to be able to incorporate all aspect of my projects in one place. I allows my manager to see details and project progress.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Try it out in order to see the ease of use and experience how it could help you manage your project.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps my project organized. It helps me track my time and keeps me more aligned with my project goals.

  ### 21. It`s a really powerfull Portfolio and Project Management online solution.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Igor R. | IT PMO - Project Governance and Portfolio, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The flexibility to create fields, dashboards, views and workflows without need a Clarizen third party representative. The facilty to use the colaboration features, the Gantt view and slide publisher.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I don`t like:
 - Mobile App, could be more modern and user friendly.
 - It`s not possible simulate / create capacity plan scenarios. And don`t have a specific report of capacity plan.
 - The Capaciy allocation screen

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 - Lack of portfolio and projects visibility
 - Slow portfolio definition process
 - Loss of project history
 - Lack of team colaboration

  ### 22. Great tool for project management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen really helps designers to keep track of their projects and tasks to finish them in timely manner. It also makes us easier to communicate with other departments. Since it allows the users to report time on each task, the company can also have better idea how much designers would take on specific project or task in the future.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I wish Clarizen has features that directly notify project managers about deadlines or urgent requests. At times, I needed to email the project manager separately to ask questions or I did not feel comfortable leaving comments in the thread that is available for everyone to view.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Clarizen is a flexible and innovative feature for employers to need to keep on eye of their projects on a daily basis. I highly recommend for anyone who need help organizing their projects. It's both beneficial for both project managers and designers.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarizen helps to organize and keep track of all of my projects in the same online platform. I've realized that it's highly beneficial to project managers to communicate with anyone who's on the project and request additional assets.

  ### 23. Almost Every a Project Manager need in one Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Executive summary reports on power point, report creation for many things, I really like the report for upcoming or past due tasks. Cost management at tasks level and the summary from roll up to Program level.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Would like to see the system processing information faster so I can be able to run a meeting using Clarizen.
I would like to see a way to keep action plan in Clarizen besides the project schedule. Integrate Risk management and open actions in the same section and be able to export to power point and excel as needed.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Clarizen is an amazing tool. It's perfect for project management in therms of project charter, cost and risk management as well as reporting. Clarizen's team are available to customize any report or solution needed to attend the customer needs.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dependencies, Gantt chart at Milestones level, Executive summary, cost management, link one project in to another.

  ### 24. Great Customer Service - Clarizen Needs to Continue to Grow with our Organization's Needs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Between their CSM org and support org, Clarizen has a solid post-sales team. I've also worked with their PS org minimally. For the time I've spent with their PS org, they're also a great team. I plan to be more heavily involved with Clarizen's PS org in the near future. Overall, the folks at Clarizen are very pleasant to work with.

Clarizen is a highly customizable tool. This is great when you have the time and capacity to modify Clarizen to your specific needs.

Clarizen has been great at continuously making product improvements. They continue to innovate and push changes.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

We're a long-time customer. We've had Clarizen for ~7 years. The product has changed dramatically since then. I've been an admin of the tool for ~3.5 years. We've gone through a couple evolutions in changing how we use Clarizen. Through our journey, I sometimes hoped that Clarizen would be more proactive in nudging us to new solutions that would fit our business use cases well. We could've adopted some features or best practices earlier down the line. Some of this could've been our fault for not doing a better job keeping Clarizen informed on our use cases, but sometimes it did feel like we had to repeat existing use cases without being pointed in a direction to improve ourselves.

We're currently going through a big transformation in how we run our business and how we use Clarizen. We're trying our best to adjust policys/practice to better utilize out of the box features. As we look into adopting new best-practice standards, I'm finding that there are not enough customer use-case examples or videos explaining full process flows.

Through my lifetime as an admin, I've had a few bugs open for over 1 year. I understand that the bugs I've identified only hit a small customer base, however they cause a major headache for our team. So much so, that we've reconsidered building particular workflows in other tools outside of Clarizen. I've received compensation for the duration of the bugs. However, compared to the amount of time we've spent in resolving issues from the bug, the compensation is very minimal.

The UI is a bit clunky. It feels like Salesforce Classic. It need a revamp kind of like how Salesforce refreshed to lightning. Clarizen Go looks much more modern.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- We use Clarizen One as a PSA tool. Overall, it's our time tracking revenue tool.
- Clarizen is used to track and manage project and project work.
- Revenue Forecasting
- It isn't necessarily utilized as a full PM tool for us. We actually use another tool for the actual project management.

Moving forward, we do plan to use Clarizen much more heavily. We're hoping to use Clarizen to help solve:
- Project resource assignments
- Project Staffing

  ### 25. Perspective of a Creative

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like that it keeps dates and timelines assigned to the proper parties. It's a great way to organize a task list that makes it more clear for those putting in requests that these things do not turn around in one day. I also appreciate the panel for My Active Tasks, and the Calendar View setting that really changes the game for someone more visually inclined as myself.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I dislike logging in every 10 minutes, the visual hierarchy, lack of intuitive capabilities, over-information/hidden-information, font glitches for Mac, lack of workload visibility, multiple clicks to leave comments on any given task, difficult settings changes and multiple email updates.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

really look into all the settings and tweak and tweak until you can read everything at a glance rather than digging for information, which is inevitable but can at least be closer to something that fits you.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to be in contact with the correct person/people through the tasks assigned to me. I appreciate the updates to what is Off Track (to a certain extent) because a lot times that happens, someone has not completed their task before mine so it feels like I'm to blame when really, we're still waiting on someone else.

  ### 26. Like an old mustang, clunky but powerful.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen it loaded with features and allows for a lot of customization. It can generally fit a lot of different workflows and can be made to handle nearly any data you throw at it. It is also has a number of integrations that can help connect it with other systems.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The UI/UX is very clunky, information overload, and often frustrating. A lot of things you do in the system aren't innovative nor intuitive. Like you might try to click and drag something and then suddenly you are in a new window. Also, due to a large amount of frames, features, and functions, it feels very sluggish and hard to do anything quickly in the system.

I would like to see Clarizen take a note from JIRA who had the same issues and recently went through a large redesign which significantly improved these issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

If your organization needs something to handle complexity, then this could be the right tool for you. If you want something lighter and quicker just keep track of project health and status, this is probably too much for you.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are looking to have a singular project management system that can handle our complex and unique project workflow and that has the features we really need for reporting and tracking.

  ### 27. Great for Customization and Automation

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen One's custom fields/objects/workflow rules enable us to automate a large portion of our workflow. This automation helps our team step away from manual project management processes and save time (and sanity). This level of customization is hard to find in any other project management software. The Clarizen success team is also an invaluable resource; There are many opportunities to receive consultation and instruction on how to implement back-end rules/actions.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen's wide range of capabilities is sometimes too much. There's so much you can do with the system (& many ways to perform the same action), if you don't set hard rules and restrictions your users can break the system and/or become confused. Most of the feedback I've received is that the UI is also unappealing (too "spreadsheet" like).

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

If you're looking for a powerful tool, I'd recommend Clarizen One. But remember, with great power comes great responsibility. You'll need to become an expert to fully utilize Clarizen's capabilities and support your team's questions (there will be many).

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a small team (<10) of operations managers overseeing 3000+ projects a year. Without Clarizen and without our automated processes (which include roadmap planning, workflow rules, resource placeholders and templates for all our projects) we would not have the bandwidth to execute all these.

  ### 28. Great product with room for improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like being able to customize my screen so I have relevant information.
I like having all my projects in one place.
I like having direct access to our admin team for questions or concerns.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Cannot TAB to next field when entering data into info card.
Hyperlinking to Sharepoint is a mess.
Admin requesting us to limit adding attachments because of limited storage.
Our projects aren't so linear as our tasks are laid out. Our admin has prevented us from making changes to the layout of the projects.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeps projects in forefront of my day. I can see what is on track and where we might be falling behind on some projects.

  ### 29. Almost the best project management tool!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shyam N. | Implementation Project Manager, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The UI of Clarizen is very intuitive once you are over the initial learning curve. The integration with Salesforce also seems to be seamless. However, the best advantage of using Clarizen is the depth of customization offered.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

There is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to operating the UI. Large data sets being displayed on the screen are not handled especially well with scrolling being interrupted by load times. The dashboard does not update in real-time and unfortunately takes a long time to update.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The variety of reports that Clarizen can generate has made life a lot easier when it comes to project and team management.

  ### 30. We can stay updated more easily with Clarizen

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Orlando C. | Account Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like the real time updates in Clarizen. As a web based solution when I update a timeline my manager and team can see the updates as soon as they refresh their view. I like highlighting changes and the critical path. I can set up a view that marks items on the critical path and I can set up a view to highlight any dates that change based on a change I make earlier in the plan. This makes slashing timelines much easier than most programs. The collaborative notes are great. We can @ team members when adding notes. This is a great way to share project specific comments and also the system keeps a record of these conversations which can be useful for post mortems.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I'm not wild about Clarizen's export options. We created a custom project plan formatter to turn the ugly export in CSV to a customer facing color coded PDF. It's not super easy to give your customers something pretty to look at, although they do offer PPTs. Gantt Charts: All I want in life is a nice little high level set of milestones to pop into a slide I'm showing to a steering committee. It's just not something the system does. I've just had to screen shot a hard to read Gantt from the system or recreate in PPT or Visio. No fun Speed: I am not sure what's going on here but Clarizen can be pretty slow to update small changes to project plans. It's rough when you have a laundry list of changes to make but the system is waiting.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

There is no doubt that we recommend you to try Clarizen service. Here developers found a room for all important and useful tools. We need to say that dashboards, planning, and customization are at the top level here.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our project management PMO departments use Clarizen to manage customer implementations. It helps us track project cost, scope, time and also allows us to keep project records tied to that information. We store information about project contacts, documents like the statement of work, requirements, and signatures on the project plan. We use color coding to track project statuses and we add notes which are pushed to internal management teams about the project status.

  ### 31. Time tracking tool with good features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos E. | Senior Technical Architect, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Having the capability to assign users to groups and regions makes holiday planning and project availability per region easier,

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Some parts of the UI could be improved, making submit button more prominent, project description shown without mouse hovering, I will also be nice to be able to add or remove projects from mi timecards sidebar, for example there will be some projects that I don't regularly use, like time spent traveling.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can do daily time cards submit which makes time tracking easier, instead of waiting until the end of the week and try to remember all I did

  ### 32. Amazing Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Our organization has been using Clarizen for a while now and the reporting features of it are fantastic we can really get a much better vision into the details of what is happening within our company and how much revenue is being processed.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

We are just starting to use this for future fiscal planning and it is still a bit clunky but I know clarizen is working to improve it.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our teams workload is better managed
Our cost per deliverable is better tracked
We can see potential financial losses quicker and fix them before they end up losing money

  ### 33. Project management software that we can customize

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William N. | Marketing Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The first and very important thing for me was integration with Salesforce that allowed me to view everything conveniently. Another point is customization. As I see, it is the main advantage of this platform. Also, there is a lot of different features that are indispensable for normal and comfortable work, like dashboards, reports, scheduling, roadmapping tools, and workflow analytics. Also, a lot of plugins allow working on several different projects at the same time online.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen is great, but there are some points where things must be fixed and improved. The reporting system is not ok. It is laggy with a huge amount of data and really big reports often show an unnatural picture. Another problematic place is an integration system. There is a lot of plugins available, but there isn't any IT or API security provided. Also, there is no advanced files management - it is really inconvenient, but it possible to add.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

If you are looking for project management software, Clarizen could be your best choice. It has a huge potential, even comparable with MC Project. A lot of different really need features are available, that makes life much easier. Also, there is integration to Salesforce and a list of other services. So, just try it - you will likely make good use of it.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was really satisfied with Clarizen. The main advantage of this platform is customizability and a lot of different plugins and integrations. Generally, it is a complicated system, where you can make schedule, plan or roadmap your projects, several in one time. Also, there is a lot of features like analytics tools and various dashboards and reporting system, that is quite well. So, this program is a great choice for those, who need to keep everything at hand.

  ### 34. Comprehensive Project Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like the visibility Clarizen One gives into projects across the entire services portfolio. This helps understand how resources are being utilized and makes it easy for internal communication across the projects. The customization options for projects is extremely comprehensive and allows you to tailor your project to fit your needs.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The customization can be a double edged sword. On one hand, it empowers the user to complete complex projects; however, learning and training to be efficient with the tool can take some time.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

This is the most comprehensive project management tool on the market.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a consultant PM, I have used the tool in place of MS Project on client sites to track project milestones and resources throughout the engagement. The smart system to track dependencies has come in handy to alert me of potential risks.

  ### 35. Great Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay F. | Communications Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It is a space to keep track of everything you need, you get to put all of the instructions for tasks and continue to have discussions around updates. That way you can document all of the official decisions to refer back to as well.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It can be a little difficult to navigate at times, I still use trello as a supplement, but trello also wouldn't work alone without clarizen for my job either.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How to have everything in one place when working in a dynamic job that requires a new set of instructions with every project.

  ### 36. User friendly with immediate transparency and collaboration gains

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Excel like editable data lists/reports; reports and dashboard functionality; capacity planning view; roadmap view with milestones; all in one tool

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

When you can do a lot, you want to do more...then you reach a limit of what is possible

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

If your requirements and processes are clear, implementing the application is easier than you might expect; the support is really great; the Clarizen team listens to customer and use feedback to make enhancements and/or add new functionalities; monthly sprint delivery of enhancements, new features

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility of portfolio of projects, make portfolio transparent (communication), capacity planning

  ### 37. Clarizen makes keeping track of my time simple and quick

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bret G. | Satellite Communication Systems Operator, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like the ability to split up projects into smaller pieces and the ability to more track utilization.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

So far there is nothing that I do not like.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem we are solving is how much time the team actually spends on billable utilization per project. This helps us gauge resources needed.

  ### 38. Great Tool for Managing a Portfolio of Projects

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like that I can easily all of my projects, their current stage and also customize views and create reports to share with managers and customers.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

There are some slow refresh times and the timeout at times makes it challenging to update the screen as you think your session is still active, but upon clicking or typing, you are forced to log in.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

It is a great full-service alternative, that can be used across many departments to track a project, billable hours and reports.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarizen, unlike other PM tools I have used, allows me to see a full portfolio of all of my projects in one spot and with one easy click.
It also allows me to send status reports to customers and management.

  ### 39. Not as easy as Basecamp, but better and more detailed

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie T. | Senior Copywriter, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

You can keep track of all the minute details and have little conversations attached to projects.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The interface can seem complex at first.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

Hang in there, I got used to it after a few weeks.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of time spent on projects is helpful.

  ### 40. Complex solution for complex projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like that very complex projects can be managed in one platform

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

As a new comer, it's packed with features and is a little overwhelming to learn but it's very powerful.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarizen has definitely made my workflow more organized. It keeps track of back and forth between collegues and myself so everything is accounted for. I feel I have a better understanding of my workload and can look into the future to anticipate what my work will be like

  ### 41. Clarizen has all the tools need to manage your Projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The ability to scale the projects and pull detailed reporting. Clarizen is customizable and easily allows for sharing with stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The ability to undo changes made to projects. An audit of changes is now available but it is not easy to undo an action.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization is able to track productivity using Clarizen to determine resource needs. We have been able to become more accurate with our tracking of project length which allows us to better set client expectations and resource allocation.

  ### 42. Daily Clarizen user

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

I like how I am able to see what is required of my for the week with timesheets. Also, being able to see the percentage complete that each project stands is helpful.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

The user interface and navigation is very tricky within Clarizen. There are multiple clicks to get to the same place and not the most intuitive.

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

I like how you are able to see your projects all at once, but it is tricky to use. Could be helpful within a larger organization but has the potential to be overwhelming to smaller organizations.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to look forward and anticipate what work I have coming up.

  ### 43. Clarizen has a lot of great features that can be customized for your implementation.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

Clarizen is highly customizable, if set up right from the start. It's loved by project managers and administrators of the platform.
We love our CSM, Nicky. She's very responsive,

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

If not customized, users have access to a whole host of options and can tend to get lost in the the product.
At times, simplicity is best, especially for the non-advanced users like managers, or consultants logging time.
Reporting/dashboards are limited, we can do a lot more with tableau.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

improving efficiency/productivity of the PS team
Tracking utilization to help meet strategic goals
Financial forecasting
Resource availability and planning
Manage customizations and workflows to simplify day to day use within Clarizen for our managers and users

I've only started using Clarizen and it is really useful to keep track of work and follow-up on projects. It's easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It could use better UI and design, and the font size should be a little bigger.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to chase my colleagues in other teams to get work done as I can just raise a ticket on Clarizen and the process is started.

The ability to have one centralize system for project management (different aspects) and the financial reports correlated.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

the fact that it does not have executive-level reports.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have the ability to track in details the actual work done per project, and invoice accordingly. Customers often ask for this information.
The system enables synchronization of the project team members to the timeline, risks and statuses.

It can be easily customised for each individual in an organisation.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

As per the requirements in our organisation, clarizen would have been more effective if certain more rights are given to the individual users. ( such as right to change commitment dates etc.)

**Recommendations to others considering Planview AdaptiveWork:**

It is the best and powerful. But takes time to customise as per our requirements.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our work records are managed using Clarizen.

Creating and publishing project status for the committee is much simpler and faster

  ### 50. Efficient but not the most user-friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

Everything syncs very well and Clarizen is a great collaboration tool. Clarizen works great for companies large and small.

**What do you dislike about Planview AdaptiveWork?**

It's not very intuitive. There is a giant learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it works well.

**What problems is Planview AdaptiveWork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better project planning. Allowing users to have more defined roles and the ability to inject their own times and comments and dates.
